do i need to flash with some pit file coz of nand write?
Original pit file from Dr Ketan thread in Android original Dev section. But I would say change kernel using recovery mode and try flashing any custom rom again
My advice its before messing up your device.. Start fresh.. Flash GB stock with Odin.. And start from there
Tapatalking on my n7000
Done....downloaded a pit file and flashed it with stock rom...done....
now the problem is that though i flashed with odin with a pit file and i got to get the stock rom
but during flash odin showed Can't open the serial(COM) port two times and passed the flashing
now the mobile is too slow and hanging a lot....any solutions for this?
you should install a kernel with CWM and scan the emmc with HG42's partition scanners.

Okay,
So i have searched, I was on 2.3.3 custom rom, and then i went on to flash Onecosmic's ICS Port Android 4.0.3 RC1, i flashed the kernel first and then from then on i cant go past flash screen. I tried flashing official firmware from here "I9000DXJV9_OLBJV9_DXJV9" but it wont go past flash screen. any help??? Can somebody link me to full official rom with bootloader and everything.??
register at sammobiles.com and find your firmware there, then flash it through ODIN. Then flash your KERNEL then any custom rom. If you find bootloop, you will need to flash a voodoo kernel this gives you other options in CWM to enable you to disable ALL lags. Then you should be fine. You can reflash any other kernel once your all done.

Ok i will try find out a vooddoo kernel, but if you please can link me to it, it will be very easier
Ok i flashed the voodoo kernel and from CWM i disabled the lagfix. And then again i i got the same error, "failed to mount /dbdata" after flashing through odin. And again back to bootloop.
What do i do.
Thankfully i can get into recovery menu. And i tried restoring nand backup but i got an error flashing boot image.
What's the next step
Try this. Remove BOTH external sd card and sim card. Boot to recovery, goto mounts/storage and format sdcard, back to recovery head menu, factory reset/wipe, format cache/format dalvik cache then remove battery, boot to doenload and flash rom agin with odin
Oh, and dont forget to disable ALL lagfixes BEFORE odin flash.
i had the same problem yesterday, what i did is i flashed through odin some 2.2 froyo (3 files) with repartition and the problem was solved; the rom was pre rooted JP3 ; hope it helps you

I have problem installing CM9 from CM7.1 and I need to revert to stock ROM. Recovery failed to load
Is it safe to use ODIN to flash stock ? is re-partition a must ?
Thanks

Yes, it is safe with odin as long as you're not flashing a bootloader. Re-partition is a must
I always use ODIN to go back to a clean base. Flashing the stock-rom you have to use repartition. Flashing a custom kernel your don't use repartition.
Can you flash a one file .tar stock firmware (like JW5) and use re-partition without .pit? Or do you always need a .pit file?
Is the .pit file still the same like it always been, or is there a new "version" for the one filed firmwares?
Is there anything i can do? I've tried flashing the stock firmware via odin and it flashes fine, but hangs at the samsung logo, wipe of cache and factory reset dosen't help a bit. Im' able to flash the aopk rom without the bootloop. How is that possible?
When you flash stock, did you choose the pit file and repartition?

Newest AOKP is MTD now, hence the no bootloop. Odin the stock with the repartition and the pit file and youll be good.
its mtd, not mdt
please use the latest version of odin and the correct pit file
you will return to ext in no time

Hey peeps iv got a big problem it happened yesterday with my Galaxy note GTn7000. I was on stock ICS LPT and was flashing new kernels through CWM when suddenly my phone just kept freezing on the Samsung screen when I start it up and it has been happening since yesterday. I think it was the speedmod ICS kernel that I flashed that made this happen. I flashed Abys kernel through odin and could get in to CWM. I did factory reset/wipe cache/dalvik/cache and then flashed checkrom which was on my SD card. Installation was fine but then it got stuck on the Galaxy note startup screen. I was searching for answers on the XDA forums and someone suggested that you flash a stock full wipe GB rom. So I tried to flash LC1 open Europe rom and was waiting for an hour the the rom to flash through ODIN which had only a bit left on the bar to flash and it didn’t flash it just froze. I tried 3 times and the same thing happened . I have used the USB jig to erase previous downloads and reset binary count. I flashed ICS LPT rom through odin and it flashed normally but when it starts up it gets stuck on the Samsung screen. Any suggestions? I can get into download mode and CWM so it means Im in a softbrick. Do you think I should download an ICS rom and put it on to my SD card and then try flashing it ? Help would be appreciated thanks.
Here is the video of what happens. Basically i have waited for 4 hours yesterday and it just stays on the samsung screen
Hey, Id recommend you flashing back to GB via ODIN before we continue.
ICS still has a few bugs and that could interfere with getting you back up and running.
Hey thanks i will download a new GB stock rom, i cant post the video link because im a new member dang...

So you've extracted the original tar file, you don't need to, just point the original tar file to the pda section of pc odin, it will sort out each partition for you.

Is it a rar. Or a zip? If it's a rar, re download from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 then extract one level with 7zip to get the tar file.
