Hey everyone. I was hoping that somebody could help me out with an issue that has just happened..Every night i plug my xperia tl into a wall charger, and turn it off. then i usually turn it back on when i wake up in the morning. This morning however, my phone wouldnt turn on. I unplugged it, then tried turning it on but still no luck. I plugged the phone back in and it turned the screen on showing the batter had 0%. I waited a few minutes then turned it on, and it worked, but i had like 1% battery. Basically i had my phone off all night, plugged into a charger and i woke up and the battery was dead. I've tried restarting it thinking it was a battery calibration error and that it might reset it but it still had a dead battery. Also when i restart my phone it usually resets the battery usage chart but it wont reset. Also on the graph it shows a sudden drain of the battery. the battery was at like 30% then went right to 0%..anyone else have this issue? And could anyone tell me how to fix it?? Thanks!
Okay, a little but later i tried unplugging my phone and restarting it again. When i turned it back on i saw a spike in the battery. It jumped from 40% to 55%...then when i plugged it back in it went back down to 40%...is there something wrong with the batter calibration? I just cant figure it out..
Another possibility is that the battery is damaged. Despite the charger being off at the wall, there is still a residual current. Connecting anything to an off socket for has always carried a risk, it's how many fires start
The phone actually warns you of this, think about the green message that says also unplug your charger from the wall.
I hope I'm wrong and it is just calibration error. Good job it's a tl with removable battery.
Should be able to get sorted under warranty though if it's not unlocked just say it wouldn't turn on.

TL doesn't have a removable battery.
I am also having issues w/ my battery draining very quickly after little to no use. when i check the battery usage it says the ebay app is using most of the charge but I never even had it open (I FC it), and now its saying the screen is using 54% of the battery even though the screen was turned off. whats the deal?

So i woke up this morning and i forgot to charge my HD2, i had just rooted it a few days ago running smoothly on Core Droid. but when i tried to charge it, it didnt . no light was showing. before i had this incident the battery would run out quickly. When i try to plug it in to the charger nothing happens, and a few times it would shwo the boot screen then suddently shut down and now that doesnt happen anymore. Do i have to get a new battery?
Running Android may mean that your phone might not shut down before the battery protection circuit activates, to prevent destruction of the cell.
Once this happens the standard charger may not be able to charge this battery, although I have read that removing the battery from the phone for a couple of hours and trying again might work - do some searching on xda.
If you have access to other micro-usb chargers then give them all a go, one might work - or you may have to replace the battery.
Also try removing the battery whist it plugged into the charger then leave it as advised above

Good idea. After this you have to charge the phone for 100% before turning it on again (just leave it overnight)
Then turn it on, let it drain completely until it dies.
This way you have re-calibrated the battery and you might get better battery life.
Apart from that, you can try the one-in-a-million power saving tips.
Today morning, I turn on my phone and I saw the battery is 80%, I put it in my bag. After 1h, I take my phone out and I found that my phone was very very HOT, and the battery went down to 10%! (normally my phone just drop 1-2% in idle mode)
After that, I pull out the battery and put it in agn. (I guess the phone turned on automatically, but I dint noticed bout it) After few hour, I tried to turn on my phone, and the LED showing red colour and keep blinking..I couldnt turn on my phone.
Now, I cannot recharge it when the phone is off, the LED din't blinking anymore.
I have tried to recharge my phone with charger, but it failed..I have tried to connect it to the pc too ..but it failed as well..
Anyway to fix this problem? Thanks.
Sorry for my bad english..
try get new battery maybe
I had a very similiar problem. My phone had been discharging battery in 3 hours from 100% to 1%. Once, the battery discharged completely and I wasn't able to recharge it, so I decided to buy a second battery. In my case it didn't help - the other battery was discharging exactly like the original one.
As I had a 2-year warranty, I returned my phone to the shop and guess what?
They replaced a mainboard in my phone (for free of course). Now everything is ok.

You try connect your phone to charger and charge more. Sometimes if your battery is recharged may not be detected for 5-30 minutes
My phone has water damage. I currently have it in a bag of rice to hopefully bring it back to life. After a few hours I plugged it in to see if that would help, and I it had a strange activity. The LED in the phone handset was lit and green. I never rooted it to enable the LED. Any advice would be great!
PS: Sorry if this post is not the most coherent. I am currently very hungover, and having problems functioning. Also, I have no idea how my phone got wet! Happy Sunday to me!
Try a battery reset
The Dirtydee Z3
The led turns on when the battery is so low that the display can't turn on to show that its charging.
Device should turn on after sometime

As @adity said above, the LED turns on when your battery is too low to turn on the screen.
Charge it for some time.

Testing that now. Thanks for the heads up!
Fingers (and toes) crossed!!
You should've let it rest on rice for like one day.
On the good side, the moto x is kind of water proof.

*Update*
The screen is now on and showing 0% battery. It has been plugged in for hours now with no change in level. I was able to get into FastBoot, however any option I choose results in the phone rebooting back to the battery charge level screen.
Thanks for the help!
*Update 2*
I plugged my phone into my cars 2.1 amp charger and after 20min or so it showed 100% battery. The phone booted, however it did not complete and turned off. When it did It read 0% once more. I have tried volume down and power for 3 mins with no result. Any more tips?
* update 3*
I pulled the back over off and held the battery ribbon down. LIFE!! Phone displayed 100% and it was running fine. However, when I removed it from power it shut off immediately.

I thought so too. I let it charge over night while it was cycling the boot screen, and when I awoke it was perfect. Battery 100% and turned on without issue. I understand letting your battery hit 0% is bad, but having it completely malfunction for 24+ hrs is rather poor play on Motorola's behalf.
How do you know that it's moto's fault?
Perhaps there was still some water left in your device?
This took longer to dry and caused the malfunction...
Don't judge so quickly!
I tell you this, because I had a motorola x with the same problem, the solution was to change the battery. Solved, try another battery
Dropping phone in water and having issues after is Moto's fault....? :silly:
I'll add... Water can and usually does wreak havoc on these things. Anything can go wrong after. Usually I'd say move on. Don't waste time or money trying to fix it.
You maybe were lucky. :good: But to suggest it's Moto's fault is crazy. Lol My X has died many times and 30 seconds on the charger and it boots. Anything you experienced was from the water.... Not a defect.

You put your phone in water, then turned it on again after only trying to dry it for a VERY short time. Bit amazing it even worked, and your complaining because it worked but only after drying?
Jesus man.
Pretty sure LIthium Ion batteries don't like going down near zero. Even when your phone says zero% and the phone automatically turns off it still isn't completely discharged.
I've let my nexus 7, and game controllers sit unused for a while. When you try to use them again they need a really long charge before they will work again.
The water probably put a load across the battery and nearly completely discharged it.
I actually just went thru this. I did the old school battery calibration using NeMa's app in the play store. Says to discharge 100%.. Phew lol. I was stressed. I had the same problems as above
Hi guys my Xperia Z1 was charged to 100% after some use normally went down to 93% next second i pulled the phone out of the pocket it was turned off tried to turn it on got it to vibrate once but nothing showed up on display tried once again few minutzes later it booted up but just went off on bootloader. I came hame and put it on charger phone turned on showing like 50% battery drained it to zero started charging to 100 on 60-70% on charging suddenly went up to 100%
i used phone for 2 days with random reboots and after switching it on showing different percent of battery remaining, today it wont work without charger after i disconect charger phone shuts down. Could anyone tell me if this is problem with battery or its faulty motherboard maybe? thanks
ps. i need fast answer because im about to buy a battery
Tried to boot phone into safe mode and see how it reacts? Also do you use Stamina mode or any other service that changes or reads system properties?
whats the point of booting in safe mode if battery percent is going crazy even when phone is charging wile its shutdown

You have classic symptoms of a dying battery. Replace it and the problems will go away... If you did a search, you would find exactly the same symptoms described by others and the same solution. Your battery can't hold power due to a deterioration of cells.

Oddly enough, yes. It happens when the tablet discharges too deeply, so try not to let it drop too far.
Plug the tablet in, hold down VOL DN + POWER for at least 10 seconds. It should start booting to the charging screen.
How long did you let it charge?
If the battery was completely depleted charging may take more time. Also, make sure the charger and cable are functional.
Left it charge for a while and about half way up the right hand side as you hold it it gets hot
Tried holding the buttons but nothing happens i will put it back on charge for a while
strange though it had 40% left when i finished using it last night
40% battery left.. was WiFi on? Any apps running?
I'd say, give it some time to recharge. Getting hot while charging is normal.
You still have warranty?
WiFi was on but as far as i know no apps were running
WiFi on. There you go! Bet that caused the drain.
You know, there are some syncing apps that run in the background draining the battery big time.
Suggestion, active Airplane Mode, and deactivate WiFi whenever you don't use it.
Moreover, there's the Mediaserver bug, which scans for media files nonstop.

Been on charge for a couple of hours but still no life
When you power it up pay attention to the navigation buttons.. do they light up?
If so, try to connect the s2 Tab to a computer via USB. Maybe the screen is the issue.
On the other hand, a dead battery can be replaced. Just have to open the back cover..
No the lights dont come on at all
How do you get the back cover off this thing?
Did you try the original charger?
Battery replacement vid,

Yes tried the original charger
Got the back off so will order a new battery its worth a try
Yes, replacing the battery is definitely worth a try.
Fingers crossed that it is just the battery. Batteries are quite inexpensive and not hard to replace.
Please keep us updated on your operation. And good luck.
Will do
Thanks for all your help
Put the new battery in and it fired up but.......
the battery only had about 5% so i put it on charge it comes up on the screen as charging and it gets warm but it doesnt actually charge
so now its dead again
Good news, your original battery is not dead. Bad news, it might be the USB charging port.
Perhaps it's time to consult a pro like Rossmann,
