Digitizer Issue - HTC Vivid, Raider, Velocity

I have recently replaced my broken digitizer and cannot get the new one to work correctly. I am on my 4th one so far and have the same problem with each. The left side of the screen including the home button does not work. I have read other forums for other HTC devices saying it could be firmware related but have been unsuccessful with finding information on my vivid. I have also tried to reflash the latest update from HTC with no luck. Any information would be appreciated.

you sure something didint break like a connector?

I checked the connector and all of the cables and everything is still fine. Also, all of the solder joints are still good.

Any help for my Captivate?

I had to do the UnbrickableMod on my Captivate. That went perfectly, however, a couple days afterwards my screen turned to this. The color is like this from boot, even the AT&T animation has this color. I tried flashing to stock with Odin and doing a master clear, that didn't help. Anyone have any ideas?

Not knowing fully the internals of the Captivate, is it possible that the cable that connects the screen to the motherboard isn't attached fully? Your picture looks similar to what happens when a component video cable doesn't have one of its plugs in all the way.
Thinking back to my old 8525, it had a ribbon cable that was directly under the directional pad. After a while, it would come loose and make the screen go all white, looking similar to yours prior to doing that.
Ill check that out, I'm pretty sure all the cable are tight. Thanks for the idea!

Nope, I tore it completely apart again. It still looks the same.

Replacement screen dead?

I replaced the screen on a Verizon droid 4 and when booted, only the middle of the screen responds to any type of touch, capacitive buttons don't work, and the screen selects randomly in the middle by itself.
I've taken it apart and put everything back together 3 times checking connections and same results occur.
Am I missing something or is the replacement a dead one?

Edit: fixed the issues. It was a bad screen. Ordered from a company rather than eBay. Guess that's what I get for trying to save a couple bucks. 2 replacement worked great.

Hardware problems

Hi
I installed a replacement usb ribbon controller about 2 weeks ago and after the install the ringer/loudspeaker stopped working and i couldnt get any mobile reception unless i was outdoors and not around tall buildings.
I replaced the loudspeaker but its still only working at very low volume and cuts out if the sound goes above a certain level. I also replaced the antenna cable and the mobile reception seems to have improved a lot but instead of registering onto my preferred network automatically it just keeps showing emergency calls only.
Im assuming that maybe the usb controller i installed is the root of all the problems.
Can anyone please help???
Ive been trying to sort this but cant seem to figure out what the issue is. My imei number and serial are showing up correctly and i am on stock jb 4.1.2 lt9 which is the correct one for my country and carrier.
PLEASE HELP!!

This usually points to installing the wrong revision of the usb controller. Do you have your old usb, check the revision number and compare it.

Rev number was the same but was not an official samsung replacement part. Have ordered a proper samsung part now so hopefully this will sort the issue.

Weird vertical line on screen.

The title explains it all, this just started happening this morning. I even booted into recovery and can see it not it bootloader. There was a couple sense 5.5 roms I flashed before that had this but now its on CM 10.1. And its very annoying I haven't dropped my phone or applied any type of pressure to the screen. Wondering if anyone has solution or any knowledge if why this happens.

I hope you realize that there isn't anything on these screenshots. Most likely your problem is hardware related not software related, that's why it doesn't show up in the screenshots

Oh wow stupid me! Thanks I still see it on phone but not on my computer. I'm try flashing a ROM or running an ruu see if itll fix the problem.

Just a heads up, don't get excited. This is most likely a hardware problem.
Try putting it in the freezer overnight, it has solved many of these issues(not kidding). Just make sure you wrap it with a plastic bag

I decided not to run an ruu. I just held my power button for two minutes. Everything is back to normal.

Problems installing EB40 battery

My EB40 arrived today so I went to install it and I'm having several issues. I took off the black casing (the one with 10 black screws) under the back cover to get the battery in, and now it won't snap back down properly around the buttons and card slots so it's nearly impossible to get SD/sim cards in and out and the power button frequently gets stuck, requiring the casing under the back cover to be removed again. Aside from that, my screen no longer registers touch input within about half an inch of the top of the screen.
What components may I have damaged installing the battery that could cause all this?

That part seems to have fixed itself overnight.

Then broke again. It seems to only work properly when both back panels are removed.

Seems I screwed it up somehow... First EB40's ribbon cable snapped. Second one just will not power the phone. Put EB20 back in and now digitizer isn't responding to touch. Can anyone confirm the component marked in the attached image is the digitizer's connector?
