Weird vertical line on screen. - Sprint HTC One (M7)

The title explains it all, this just started happening this morning. I even booted into recovery and can see it not it bootloader. There was a couple sense 5.5 roms I flashed before that had this but now its on CM 10.1. And its very annoying I haven't dropped my phone or applied any type of pressure to the screen. Wondering if anyone has solution or any knowledge if why this happens.

I hope you realize that there isn't anything on these screenshots. Most likely your problem is hardware related not software related, that's why it doesn't show up in the screenshots

Oh wow stupid me! Thanks I still see it on phone but not on my computer. I'm try flashing a ROM or running an ruu see if itll fix the problem.

Just a heads up, don't get excited. This is most likely a hardware problem.

Try putting it in the freezer overnight, it has solved many of these issues(not kidding). Just make sure you wrap it with a plastic bag

I decided not to run an ruu. I just held my power button for two minutes. Everything is back to normal.

Sounds defective. How long have you had it? I've had mine since release week and haven't experienced those issues once. I'm rooted, but still on factory stock.
May want to return it for another

I'm going to do that today, but I don't know what is worst the phone or Tmobile customer service reps, anybody else notice how much more uneducated they have gotten about the product line they are there to help with?!?

I have talked to HTC customer, they say HTC will fix this in next update.
Is this a widespread issue, happening to everyone?
I noticed when I was restoring apps using Carbon from my Nexus 4, the repeated act of installing an app from the market, then pressing back to return to Carbon, my back button would not respond and I'd have to either wait 15-45 seconds, or turn the screen off and on.
I have since had the back button stop working while using Tapatalk, Blinkfeed etc, any app that causes heavy use of the back key to, well, go back!
I am reluctant to unlock the bootloader and try ROM's based on a newer base if it isn't known to fix the problem, as I don't want any difficulty returning my handset if the fault is hardware. Current ROM is stock 1.28.401.7
Cheers!
I thought this was a hardware fault not a software fault ?

Possible fix for unresponsive capacitive buttons?

Seems to me this is really working, could you please try and post in here how's it working? Also mention your fw revision.

For the lazy, it's as simple as disabling vibration in sound>vibration on touch.

not working for me
I've had 'vibration on touch' turned off since day 1 and my buttons are still problematic
I've had vibration disabled since day 1 and still had problems.
After the latest update (1.29.401.12) I have not experienced any issues with the capacitive buttons. It's much more responsive.

I have had problems with the capacitive buttons until I installed a custom Rom with the .13 base.
Much much better. I honestly dont have issues anymore. Before it would happen all too frequently.
I am with Rogers in Canada and I can't be bothered to wait for them to push an update.

I have had the vibrate off since day one and I still have problems. I'm unlocked with root on stock rom so hopefully AT&T can get the update out. Sounds like it's a software issue.

You are mean't to turn it on, click your button and go back and turn it off (the vibration), then it should be fine after that (until a reboot). It's worked for me.
That pic is extremely clear. I'm using a RAZR and get nothing like that. Nice

Volume up stops working.

Yesterday my phone's volume up stopped working so I googled to see if there was a fix. Some had suggested unticking fast start up and rebooting didn't work tried soft reset didn't work then later it just started working. So tried it again tonight and it's not working again, so does anyone else know if it's software or hardware or any suggestions of what to do thanks.

Think it might be hardware because if you shake it it normally starts working again dreading having to send off for repair been reading about some real horror story's .

How about you try the built in diagnostics: in dialer type *#*#3424#*#* then select "Button Test" and run it.

I guess if it fails the button press, then it's most likely a hardware fault, and not much you can do to fix it
It should still be under warranty so will take it back next week hopefully they can fix it but dreading handing it over incase it comes back in worse shape then when it went.

If anyone reads this from the UK what's the best way to send phone off for warranty repair through shop where i got it from phones4u or HTC UK or HTC international need some advice before it goes on it's journey for repair. Also time frames of how long it normally takes would be nice. Iam hoping they tell me to send it somewhere locally for repair but doubt it very much, had a Nokia years ago wich went to a local place for repair but don't think they do that now.

Adhesive melted off?

So I was using my HTC One M8 tonight. It got warm like usual. Then I started noticing something sticky on the back. I wiped it off and noticed the "T" from the HTC logo had come off. Followed by the "C". Anyone else had this happen?
At least the letters are made of metal too lol.

They're actually very precisely cut pieces of thin metal. Either way, I fixed it. Like it never happened.

Well I lost the "T".
Not sure how to fix, but its bugging me to no end.
Its a small thing, but after having issues with 2 Evo 3D I swore off HTC. I've had 7 devices since then with no issues. Decided the M8 was great and gave HTC another try. Guess this is what I get.
I know other devices have issues as well. For $600+ I would figure that proper glue could be used.
Last HTC device.
