I have X8 with 2.6.29.6- nAA -ics-04 kernel and MiniCM9-3.0.4-shakira installed.
Phone is turning off by itself and it's really slow so I would like to install stock rom.
I tried by PC Companion but it doesn't recognize device.
Can anyone help me with step by step instructions?
Can I just update with SEUS? I read somewhere that I should flash stock kernel first but I can't find how to.
I tried to search thread for this, but there's nothing for beginners.
Now I really NEED HELP PLEASE!
I copied Ginger DX rom on my SD card and install it, since thread said it runs with stock kernel and nAa kernel. (On other thread someone wrote that I need rom that supports both stock and nAa kernel for easier stock kernel install.)
Now my phone only shows Sony Ericsson start screen and that's it.I tried many threads for bricked phones but all links are broke and the ones I managed to download are not working.
So now I have W8 and X8 (E16&E15) Stock Kernel and X8i_2.1.1.A.0.6_Baseband_015, I also tried Xperia X8 (E15)_2.1 (2.1.1.A.0.6)_Greek (by Leajian) but all of them shows only Sony Ericsson start screen.
Also, when I connect to SEUS it says I already have latest software and I can't connect to PC Companion since I can't turn the phone on.
Please someone help me, I've been up with this all night and need my phone in the morning.
are you on stock kernel already? simply flash the stock ROM via flashtool. do NOT flash the kernel. then reboot. you need to have pcc installed too. and install the drivers in flashtool's /drivers folder.
edit: you need the stock rom .ftf file. not the baseband and kernel.

Try with other roms, and see if which is your baseband number maybe its just and rom bug....
P.S. if you use PCcompanion to update your phone it would go back your phone to 2.1 and after that you need to root your phone again and install xrecovery and cwm again

i did tried to flash the kernel but i boot up it will just stuck at the sony ericsson logo and i am unable to enter recovery ..
Can anyone help me?
Flash stock kernel and use seus

To the best of my knowledge, you can flash kernels only via flashtool. CWM won't help. And the kernel .ftf file must have a loader.sin in addition to a kernel.sin when viewed via flashtool.
I remember a day I flashed my X8 37 times within 24hours! At times, it would get temperamental & fail to boot beyond the SE logo screen for reasons it alone knows. Cheer up. And get flashing!
Hmmm... i dont want to use SEUS because by then i would have to reroot and even unlock bootloader again i tried couple of times to flash the stock kernel but my phone just stuck at the se logo

Which kernel are you tried to flash? You can use flashtool to flash your kernel, and install ROM with CWM! If you are flashing aNa kernel, CWM is already built-in. If you still struck at SE logo, mean your kernel is not flash yet.

Well, there's actually still ADB but it carries a certain amount of risk. With flashtool, most of that is obviated. If you need more information, scout the Android Development section for related topics.
Search in the Flashtool post the list of official firmwares, and flash one of these (yes, only that )
If the links are dead, send me a PM and I will give you the ftf that I have
I do have the .ftf file and flashed it.. but my phone will just stuck there
Hi. I am on GingerDX v024 now and i wanted to flash Alfs 8a kernel, and when I did, I stuck at infinite bootloop (Alfs logo>reset>alfs logo...and so on) I flashed then older 8 version, and even stock kernel but it didn't help. Only way to fix it was by flashing it back to stock 2.1 and again install GDX v024. So now there is a question: my baseband is 006, is it the problem that I'm stuck on bootloop after installing a kernel for this ROM? Thanks in advance!

You surely need a newest baseband xxx015. You can update your baseband by PC companion.
Then reinstall the rom, full wipe then flash alfs.
Thanks for reply Can I do this via Flashtool (because Companion doesn't work)? And which .ftf file should I choose? And can I do this on current GDX v024 or flash it back to stock 2.1??
Yes, you can use FlashTool. Download the ftf file from here. Isn't necessary back to stock 2.1
So if I have E15i, then I should go for "E15i Baseband 015", right? I'd rather ask ten times, than crying after bricked phone

Yes, you're right
So I flashed the cm11 ROM for my sony Xperia Z aaaaand, The phone won't turn on at all. Then I realised that I flashed whole .zip package, without extracting boot.img kernel. So I flashed whole thing without kernel and now my phonewon't turn on at all (I know I am idiot). It just showing a red ledlight whereverI am conneting it to charger or PC.
Can u please help me guys? What should I do?
Well, you know the .zip package that you can download from the cm site? There is a boot.img file inside. But insted of extracting it and flash it by the flashtool on the computer, I flashed the whole package (rom + kernel which were inside one .zip file) by cwm on my phone.
[EDIT]
I am trying to repair it by updating the software via Pc companion. I'll let you know if it's worked or not where it will finish downloading update.
@Saguri please download any ROM made for xperia z..pull out the kernel (boot.IMG) connect your phone in fast boot mod(by pressing the volume up key first and then connecting the USB) blue led will light up...now flash the boot.IMG with the help of flashtools ...downland any ftf file for xperia z
..flash it via flash tool but in flash mod and u will get your phone revived back
@Vishalkris thanks, the method with flashtool worked, i downloaded stock rom for my xperia, everything is working now, i am able to use my phone again, thanks.
PROBLEM SOLVED, this thread can be deleted now. Thanks again to everyone for help.
