You're kidding right?
Why not? I expect to see a ('legal') Sense 4+ very soon
really? lol its been hard enough to get sense 4.1
There's at least three different ROMs from across the pond.
And I think one may be clean.
At least it appears to provide the option of what tweaks not to install.
But I'm not that knowledgeable to be able to check for sure.
Right now I'm running one without using those tweaks as a daily driver and haven't had any issues.
Lately I've been reading up a lot more on developing to better understand 'what's under the hood' so that I don't step on any toes.

Hey guys. I just got an account today. I've had the Vivid since Winter 2011 and really want some Jelly Bean on my device and still have another year until my contract ends.
Do you guys have jelly bean on your Vivid? And is it stable? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Lets all hope for more development on the Vivid.
Regarding those Sense 4 and 4.1 ROMs that some of you have, do any of them have a working FM radio? or have you heard of a fix for it?
Thanks in advance
Doesnt work on mine. Never even tried until you asked. Too many radio/music apps to choose from, so no loss for me.

Hey Homeslice ive been trying to install your sense 4.1 rom but all it keeps giving me is status 1 error in TWRP and in CWM
i have S-ON my friend is scared to turn it off could that be the cause?
I wouldn't think so. Can you get me the recovery log, or is there any text that goes along with status 1?
Just remembered I had a pm from someone else experiencing the same and it was just a bad download. Try redowbloading if you haven't already

After looking over the specs of the HTC One V, they appear to be almost exact to that of the Nexus one....and that phone ships with both Android 4.0 and Sense 4.0 ... any thoughts on a port to the Nexus one? Would that be possible? Or has anyone heard of this happening already? Just had to ask, as they are so similar.
Thanks!
First there has to be a dump of the device, which I have not seen.
Second there needs to be space on the phone, that would require a bunch of scripting to be done.
Third problem is images size. Rember all the resizing that was needed to make the icons the correct size for our screen size.
Last comment would be driver and kernel compatibility.
At best the rom would be as stable as our best 3.5 sense ports.
Maybe it could help :

not sure if this is at all helpful to developers, i just thought that being such similar devices, it may be the easiest 4.0 ROM to port to the Nexus One.
and , now for ICS stock ,we have almost all, camera preview works ...
I'll be happy to see Sense 4 for our Nexus One , because sense 3.5 has little lags and some reboots !

Which new phones?
So I was on HTC's website today just looking, then I saw they had another phone coming out. Desire C. Looked at the specs here http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_c-4759.php HTC didnt have it on their website yet. When we get our update rolled out it is only coming with Sense 3.6 because they said our specs were too low. But when you look at the Desire C specs they are worse than the Incredible s and its getting sense 4.0.
Desire C specs
600mhz processor
512mb RAM
Incredible S
1GHZ processor
768mb RAM
Why is HTC holding out on us!!!!!
Im running NIKHIL007's Project X and its awesome!! cant understand why HTC wouldnt be able to have sense 4.0 included.
Are their developers not as good as the guys here on XDA?
Giving us the latest version of sense would kind of defeat the purpose of buying a new phone

True enough. But I dont go and buy a phone based on if it has the latest software. I would buy a new phone based if it has better specs. They should be keeping their current users happy no?
This phone's old now. They want people to ditch it and go pick up the latest HTC phones. Hence why they brought the one series out.

For me its the whole user interface. I have been one to love sense since it came out. Loved it when I had a windows phone and still love it with android. Ive tried other UIs but still like sense way more. i like the look of sense 4.0 just some minor differences and big differences between 3 and 4.

This phone isn't very popular. We aren't gointo be seeing much more development going on for it and the ROMs that are out there cover all the bases our community is capable of. That being said...every build that's out there right now is very solid and generally a joy to use. If you want a hundred sub-par ROMs to choose from, then by all means sell your phone and get a new one.

i know your rom and kernel are now best for vivid. i use your rom and kernel. i mean add a new feature like usb otg.
(why HTC don't use usb otg? even OneX don't have this. but most of samsung have this. i think that's very important for a modern phone.)

Because HTC has s*** coding, doesn't provide source, when they do its s*** and a mess, att just adds to the troubles
The main problem is the rills...basically the devs can't figure out how to get signal -that's in really basic terms for the non-tech people...there's obviously more to it...
Not sure why everyone is so crazy about sense 4...looks the same to me...what we really need is a solid (real) aosp Rom...bot One based off sense...one built from source...preferbally cm9/10...either one...

My captivate was my 4th straight Samsung and I was always impressed with HTCs build quality and Sense looked cool so I thought I'd give them a chance. But now they'll never get my business ever again.
CM was always an option until I got these htc pieces of crap. I'm pretty strapped for cash at the moment but when I get back on track financially I'm buying a Nexus phone, either the gnex or its successor if it's out by then. As I've found from my Nexus tab with pure android an the most current version of android the desire to root is pretty weak

Pretty sure that if you been "modding" devices alike for awhile you would know more about HTC devices and there source code and binaries arn't just a overnight process to port (not to say samsung are easier at times).
AOSP is very close to being done via the msm8960 group that is porting all the code daily. Daniel on the team posted this on his Google+ today Cm10.1 HTC ONE. By next week we will almost have a working AOSP build / kernel for this device, outside polishing its gonna be awesome and worth the wait. If you insist on a s4 go for it! its your money, your decision!
