[Q] i9305t mms problem - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Hi
My 9305t running ripper rom v9 wont send or receive mms. I have tried all 3 telstra modems available via update me and also tried both samsung sms app and also go sms pro.
The mms sits trying to download before eventually timing out.
All other data/calls etc work fine.
Any ideas?

Sounds like an apn issue.
You need to either remotely or manually install the apn settings yourself or take your phone into your carriers store and get them to enter your apn settings again.

You could also try installing GoSMS and see if it will be able to send MMS. I had a similar situation and GOSMS was working well.

Not to be judgemental, but you do know that mms can only be downloaded using the data network.

I am having the same problem on MIUI i am on Rogers. Has there been any fix for this?
I am having kind of the same issue except I cannot send mms messages at all. I am also on rogers. I have tried restoring a couple older son back ups, nothing. Tried turning off wifi, nothing. No super user conflicts either....any help would be greatly appreciated..

[Q] Flashing SLIM ROM to CAPTIVATE

I flashed the slim ICS rom on my captivate that had 2.3.5 gingerbread stock. Everything worked fine except that I couldn't make phone calls or text. Pretty much i couldn't connect to a service provider.
When I looked at the settings menu, and tried to search for mobile networks it said "error cannot find networks".
Anyone else having this issue and do you know how to resolve this?

I think this might be it. In one of the threads it says that it does not flash a new modem. My guess is that it needs to be i9000. I came from another ICS ROM and have had no problems.
Edit: The developer said that his essential pack does include a modem (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23025435&postcount=60)

Can u send mms on official ics*DELETE IT,FOUND SOLUTION :) *

On GB i can send mms but when i upgrade to ics and enter all settings from provider internet is working nicely but mms is not responding. Any clue?

mine are sending just fine on t-mobile using stock lpy ics. This may seem so simple but a lot of my stuff wasn't working properly until I did a battery pull. Once it rebooted everything was working fine.
Tnx 4 reply will try that
Edit: was trying diferent settings and found the right one,not the same as provider gave me LOL

[Q] 3G on custom ROMs

Hi guys, finally decided to put down my sensation and move onto the Galaxy S III. I'll miss it =[
So I've bought a UK Galaxy S III I9305 from T-Mobile.
I've managed to root and that and it everything was working fine so I thought I'd flash some ROMs and see what one I like. I flashed two of them (Pandoriam and rXTREME). They worked fine except mobile data would not work on either of them. I followed some instructions in the thread which said to turn on GSM only, restart then switch back to WCDMA. But it still wouldn't work. I flashed different radios as well (or modems as they're called for samsungs) and that didn't help either.
I've just flashed a stock 3.1.2 EE firmware and the device is back to complete functionality and the 3G came on immediately. I also noticed when I booted the phone the first thing that popped up was a box asking if I wanted to enable data connections; this never happened on the custom ROMs. I figured it must be me or my device since it didn't work on both ROMs, hence my posting here instead of their threads. Am I doing something wrong here?
Any help appreciated. Cheers.
Did you check the apn settings? When I flashed those roms I had to re enter the settings again

Ah this wasn't suggested. If you can be bothered could you possibly outline what I need to do. I know how to get to APN settings, do I just note down what they are now on a stock ROM and set them the same way on a custom ROM?
Thanks.

[Q] ATT samsung 8.9 1957 rooted wont reconnect to ATT data

Purchased a rooted (to Jelly Bean) Samsung 8.9 LTE tab originally on ATT network. Previous owner ran it on T-Mobile. It wont recognize my ATT simcard. Simcard works fine in other 8.9 tablet non rooted.
I was advised by previous owner to:
Re Flash Rom
Re install Kernal
Re install modem
I am brand new to rooting anything. I think I have done this but no results.
Can anyone assist me?
It should not matter if its rooted. I have s rooted i957 and att works fine. Have you checked the apn (access point name)? Settings, wireless, more, mobile networks. The apn needs to be configured for att. Do you know what radio(modem) you're currently on?

Thank you for the reply ----right now I there is no information populated in the APN name. I have attempted to add APN name with duplicate information from another 8.9 tab at ATT store. The information wont save. I dont know what modem I am currently on (or supposed to be on).

That's your problem. You have a couple of choices. You can return the tab to stock att ics or you can keep rooted jb and flash a new radio. I.don't know your level of experience so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but do you know how to use odin or a custom recovery?

Not experienced with hacking/rooting android but am tech oriented person in all other areas. I know enough to throw the tab into the alternate boot mode (maybe you are calling recovery).
If you would be so kind to describe to me one time, I think I can get it.
my choice would be to not revert back to stock ATT, keep the rooted set up. Flash a new Radio.
BTW- I have tried "flashing" something with ATT and word MODEM in file name at root directory, but upon reboot still dont see APN info.
thanks in advance for your patience helping.

No problem helping you. We've all been there before. The alternate boot is recovery you probably have clockwork mod or twrp. I've worked with both. Finding a radio specifically for the i957 is a problem but the radios for the i727 work with no problem. It's what I have on my tab.
Download onto your tab http://d-h.st/NWW. This is the latest jb radio for the i727. You will flash this with your recovery. In the recovery there are options to wipe/format different things. You don't need to do any of those. Just flash/install the radio.
It should set up the apn's but if we have to we can manual set them up.

downloaded file, flashed, got successful response, then rebooted.
NO APN info populated after re boot.
btw - upon reboot I see the following briefly "Super User has stopped". This is not to do with the file you had me flash. Its been coming up since I tried to flash the super user file I saw in root when I was blindly troubleshooting on my own.

Do you have a baseband? It should be ucmc1. If this radio doesn't work there is one other that add a radio interface layer which you may need. The super user error can be corrected but we'll get to that. The other radio is http://d-h.st/pcr but let me know of you have s baseband first.

See off you can manually set the apn's on the first radio first. See my post above for the correct settings. Don't forget to save the apn before exiting by hitting the settings icon again. I've done that before.

I tried settings with first radio first and nothing. But I wasnt saving correctly. My settings icon disappears in certain screens.
then I loaded 2nd radio.
Now I will try new APN with the save method you indicate.
Wow, this is like scratching a chalkboard for you probably. moving forward
