Is it possible to go from the 4.1.2 firmware the 4.0 ICS? Such as from Paranoid ANdroid to Sense 3.6 roms? What steps do I need to do?

Will upgrading my IS via OTA remove S-OFF, root and CWM?
I'm on stock 2.3.3 and going to upgrade to 2.3.5 with sense 3.

If you are S-OFF with CWM and you try to apply the Sense 3.0 OTA then it will fail. If you want Sense 3.0 then check out the Development section stickies. There are plenty of Sense 3.x ROMs to choose from. There is even a stock, rooted 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 ROM built from the official RUU/OTA.
You are better off keeping S-OFF at this point instead of trying to get the official OTA.

so now that ics has been released for the x710a (aka bell raider) how can i flash custom ics roms to it? or will they still not work

and Yes once you have upgraded to ICS you can flash any ICS rom.
And you might have to set your specific apns

So I want to put MIUI on my GNOTE but the official download site: http://www.miui.com/development.html says Galaxy Note i9220. Is this the right version for the N7000? If not can you point me in the right direction?
Yup, from what II know then they are exactly the same. I myself just flashed that miui onto my note and it is working fine

Its not v5..v5 is under beta testing phase with a lot of bugs
And the rom in the above link is based on 4.0.x
There is 4.1.2 based rom (not by MIUI Team)

but I want to run another rom ..this rom 4.0.4

Full Wipe and flash as if you were flashing another rom. No need for additional software flashing or anything.

The source code can be found at HTCDEV.com and you can also download the official ICS RUU from there and then extract the boot.img from the ROM.zip

You could download a stock ROM and extract, but in custom Roms even though kernel itself is untouched boot.img is touched in ramdisk mods so if you're thinking of that watch out
What's it for anyway? If its to flash your backup ROM or flash a ROM, the one from a sense 3.6 ROM should work
