It's a known issue.. Leave the phone connected to the USB..then remove the battery..unplug..wait some secs..insert the battery..restart Odin.. Connect the USB to the phone and try to reflash..should work now

Probably get a usb jig. Take your battery off.. Insert battery and connect jig. Your phone will boot into download mode. Then remove jig and connect your data cable and flash any stock Rom via odin

Go to this site http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3 and you will find Odin 1.85. Firmware for your country/region and flashguide. Register first, it`s free
It`s not so hard: download Odin 1.85, download the right firmware.
Put the firmware in PDA in Odin, close Kies and kies trayagent and PDLR in your windows toolbar (rightclick and go to taskmanager), put your phone in downloadmode, connect with computer and when you see ADDED in the left corner window of Odin and the the ID.com left upper window turns yellow press start and flash and let it boot. Done

Hence, i was told to use odin1.85 to flash back the stock rom.... during the progress... it stuck on factoryfs.img

Does that means i need to pay samsung to restore back for me?
Hello guys, even I am stuck factoryfs.img when trying to flash stock ROM.
I bricked my phone trying to install rocket ROM ICS.
I am using PC ODIN and LA5 firmware, I tired KL3 too, but no luck. I am just stuck at around 95% with odin saying flashing factoryfs.img.
PLEASE HELP
If you are able to enter recover, wipe cache, wipe delvic cache, wipe off data
then reflash
I am not able to enter into recovery. Only download mode is working, but when trying to flash the stock rom, it is stuck at factoryfs.img.

Not specific, you select any different, n as balok said connect directly to usb port, n close if antivirus running. Better download rom without antivirus, some time antivirus can cause problem, if any component of rom falsely consider as trojan.

SAME HERE Spending hours but no use....PLEASE HELP!
I appear to be unable to use PCOdin to flash the latest UK ROM to replace a German ROM in download mode and may have lost the ability to flash anything using download mode. I wondered if I could also do the same operation in recovery mode by placing the UK firmware zip file XEULP4 in the Note root directory.
Is it risky using recovery mode to flash the UK ROM on a UK Note which has German XXLPY firmware on it for I don't want to brick my phone?
Thanks for your help
Yes. It's risky. There are lots of threads around that state it clearly: stay away from CWM while you are in stock LPY. The safest way to go is to downgrade using pc odin, or wait until a safe solution appears.
[EDIT] Entropy will make some tests this weekend to find out if stock recovery can trigger the emmc bug. Keep an eye on this thread:

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to use PC Odin and I was hoping to use the built-in recovery and not CWM. I don't know if using the stock recovery is risky. I've never used recovery before so I need to know if there is a special recovery ROM or do you just use the stock rom zip file.

My phone is working fine but when I try to use PC Odin to flash a rom I can get download mode on the note but cannot get the COM box to turn yellow. So I wondered if it was possible to flash a new rom using recovery mode. When I get into recovery mode one of the options is to "apply update from external storage" but I don't know how to do that. For example can I just put the UK rom in the note root and flash that?

I guess you could. But I woudn't do it just right now. BTW, I have noticed that occasionally it takes some time for Odin to recognise the phone in download mode (com box doesn't turn yellow immediately). Have you let it connected for at least a minute?

Thanks for your reply. I've discovered that when I connect my Note to my PC it tries to install the Note drivers for Windows 7 64-bit but fails which might explain why PC Odin cannot detect my Note in download mode. I attach a thumbnail of the error I get in Windows when it tries to install the Note drivers. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
I have run Kies which I understand installs the drivers but that does not solve the problem.
Here is the drivers u want

Hi,
could anyone help!
my device is galaxy ace s5830i
i have already rooted my device and used CW Recovery and taken a copy of my original system .oki
i wanted to set up a custom rom i restarted and reset and deleted the cash then installed the rom.

all i did i restarted my phone of course went into R mode and reset and deleted the cash then installed that next custom rom .
after installing completed when i rebooted it only gave me (samsung galaxy ace s5830i) logo and doesn't open the system when i restart it doesn't go into recovery or download mode it only gives me again the same logo.
even when i press long power button it shuts down and opens automatically.

I have this problem before and i managed to use ODIN3 v1.83 (can use Odin3 v3.07) to detect my phone and flash a stock rom onto the device. I followed the advice given on this excellent thread by Supermini.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071970
As mentioned on his thread make sure you have the latest stock firmware from the sammobile site or by using Check Fus Downloader as per the guide in Rafael thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551156, a working samsung USB driver to detect your mobile on your PC and a copy of ODIN3 v1.83 (or v1.84, v1.87, v3.07 run ODIN in administrator mode if using in windows). Ultimately if this this fails you could always try a USB jig which can be purchased from ebay, etc. to get the phone into download mode.
Good luck and if this helps make sure you send a thank you to Supermini.

So . . . last thing to rescue your phone is buy on e-bay or in other place JIG if it isn't help you then try in phone service and say you tried install new ROM with Kies and your phone is brick (maybe it'll work).
Say to Service Centre Representatives that you kept your at charging last night
And when you woke up
It was not booting up
Pretend as if you dunno anything about root or ROM
They fixed my bricked phone
I am not sure if I am breaking any forum rule by telling this
Hey bro sorry for the late reply also, please before you do anything else try following my instructions.
1) download Odin v3.07
2) source the stock firmware you want to flash from sammobile.
3) make sure you have the Samsung mobile driver.
4) open and run Odin as administrator and load the single file in the PDA and highlight the tick box.
5) shut the phone down and take out your Sim card.
6) put the mobile into download mode as normal (press both up/down vol keys +power)
7) connect the phone to the PC and check in Odin to make sure its com port is detected.
8) then flash through Odin as normal.
I understand what your saying about no download screen appearing, I have found through experience that custom kernels can cause no download screen to appear. Normally with stock kernel this is not a problem but with custom kernels sometimes all you get is a black screen. Ignore this and just make sure that Odin is detecting the phone and try to flash, chances are it will flash the stock ROM and kernel. If you get the setup connection error in Odin and the fail 0\1 just try another USB port on your PC and keep persevering.
Please keep us updated so we can help you if you need it.

Why will it be hardbricked if the custom roms are based on s5830i stock roms?
But it is probable that we did I not flash the rom properly as per procedure..so is there a chance that it be bricked? Else the rom may have some problem... just telling the probability
