If your looking for a great Nexus 7 Case at a incredible price .. this is a steal for $15...
It's as advertised, it's multi-angle to any position you want because they grey area is felt, and it has velcro feet on the bottom side of the tablet that let's you position it anyway you want and it's holding up great!! .. it's very stable in portrait mode as well..maybe I do a video or something sometime soon, but it's a steal .. closes by a magnet and I forget what it's called but when you close the cover the screen turns off and when you open the cover the screen turns on...
I honestly can't see them settling at this price for this product .. it's every bit worth the $30 that they have as the retail. I had it pre-ordered and they just started shipping yesterday. I got mine within a day since it's shipping from Southern California ..
Update 7/22: Lots of people are asking about "muffled sound" with this case, in which I reply I don't have an issue with that. For those on the fence, I went ahead and took a picture of the back of the Nexus when the case fully extended. There are in fact holes for the speaker. Let's think about this for a moment. When you use the case in "landscape mode", the holes aren't covered. If you just lay your Nexus 7 flat on a desk and just flip open the cover.."you" are covering the holes. But imo, it's not terrible. It's not like the Nexus 7 puts out Bose Audio quality surround sound .. and again this case is only $15 shipped .. Worse case scenario, Amazon has an excellent and simple return policy.
And if your still unhappy with your sound :crying: .. Grab this free EQ App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartandroidapps.equalizer&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zbWFydGFuZHJvaWRhcHBzLmVxdWFsaXplciJd
And Please .. Press the thanks button if I've helped you at all..
Lastly, I'm including a picture of the screen lit up in the case. So you can see that no, the case doesn't cover the screen. The notification bar issues is because there's only a little bit of room there and our fingernails need to be cut!
If this was on Prime... I would have bought it yesterday...

Now it is on Prime but at $15 (would be the same when it was $10 with $5 in shipping)
I am taking a leap of faith since I need a case and this doesn't look as ****ty as the other folio cases out and does have the magnet so :fingers-crossed:
I ordered one of these yesterday. Was $10 w/ 5 dollar shipping basically. Looks good to me in the pics, hopefully it fits good when I get it.
I liked how it had the magnet for auto-wake, and how it had a stand mode for watching movies I guess. And how it was cheap
Im really digging this case. I have a post here about the exogear car mount..and i can mount the nexus 7 with the case still on .. when i get time im going to update my pictures and do a new video on that one as well.. enjoy guys!

The rooCASE looks nice but a bit too thick. What do people think about that?
Thanks
Purchased one of these today. Paid $10 for it earlier. Looks decent enough for me right now. Hope it's good quality.
The one I originally wanted was the one below. Has a handstrap along with a magnet to close the flap. I just can't honestly wait 2 weeks for it so I settled for this one.
Do you think this one has a magnetic closing flap so it doesn't accidentally open?
EDIT: Sorry, just answered my own question. It has a magnetic flap closure.

I guess I got my answer and the cons outweigh the pros:
"I have noticed that the speaker is quite muted while in this case, and also its kind of bulky. It probably triples the thickness of the nexus 7."
(http://www.amazon.com/rooCASE-Multi-Angle-Leather-Google-Automatically/product-reviews/B008F05Q2E/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&colid=2KWIRQ1PEHLSD&coliid=I3PNX4KCCN3GST&showViewpoints=1)
The rooCases do increase the bulk but IMO they are worth their weight in gold. I have a leather rooCase on my ASUS Transformer - which got knocked to the ground from a height of about 4 feet and it did not get any damage from the fall, not a nick, dent or crack. Here's a link to the genuine leather rooCase for the Nexus. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008F05Q5Q/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
This one is more expensive; but the inner case is detachable and can reattach in portrait
mode for video chats. The only other downside is the bezel is covered and makes the notification bar marginally harder to pull down.

I have the Kindle Fire version of this case and though it fits it doesn't close properly. The Nexus 7 version should fit perfectly. I think you'll be happy with it. Great quality for the price.

I have been using this case throughout the day and find it to be very well made. It does add a little bit of bulk but nothing out of the ordinary. The tablet is the very well protected and it stands up well in landscape mode. The overall very happy with the purchase.

Exactly. I was surprised at how well made it is. I also ordered this case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008GFHO6Y/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00 It's going back. Bulkier than I like and it looks cheap.
I also got this one, which I DO like very much but will probably use it more for my daily commute to work on the train: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008G2UG3A/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00 Love how it converts to a stand.
The Nexus 7 Yoomee case will be my main case, when it arrives - I think. Really like everything about it (and I didn't expect to...)
I have to say, if anyone can let me know how to contact rooCASE for support, I would greatly appreciate it. My wife ordered a case from them for her Samsung GT 10.1, and it pretty much fell apart in the first month or so. She and I have both sent numerous email messages asking for them to honor their lifetime warranty, and neither of us have received a response.
Can't recommend them, honestly, and at this point it's the principle of the whole thing. I simply can't believe that a company of their stature (this isn't some fly-by-night outfit) doesn't respond to email. And, as far as I can see, there's no phone number to call.

So I received my DODOcase last week and I've decided to write a review about the case for everyone.
You can find it here: DODOcase for Nexus 7
Price/Shipping:
First off, and the shipment was pretty quick to me. I was impressed since I ordered it on Monday and had it by Thursday. I believe they hand make these cases by order basis, and so to have it turned around in under a week was nice. The box it came in wasn't fancy lol. It was just a cardboard that was cut out and folded to protect it from shipment damage. It did its job though and got to me in perfect condition. Price was steep for a case, at least for me. Came out to $48 with a 10% off coupon with shipping and taxes. You also get another 10% off coupon for someone else to use when you buy from them and if someone uses the coupon and buys a case you get another 10% back. I got another 10% back because someone used my coupon recently and ordered a case.
Quality:
The quality of the case is very high. I was impressed to say the least when I first removed the case from the packaging. You can tell it was created by good workmanship, material is good quality. Feels nice to the touch and it looks very nice to carry around. The color was spot on with what they had on the website, I couldn't be happier with the quality of this case. The elastic band is the same color as the inner panels, I was kind of assuming it would be off a lot but it is really spot on.
Functionally:
Well sure it is pretty but how well does it function at its true core, a case. First the tablet is secured to the case by a doubled sided sticky tape. You peel the top layer off the tape and stick your tablet in place. I had to reset the case about 2 times to get it just where I wanted it. The tape never lost its strength and still holds very very well. I read you can reuse this tape as well by just wiping down the tape with water and it restores the stickiness to it. Haven't tried this yet though.
Next the fit of the case. The case itself is very thin and sleek, and just hugs the Nexus 7 perfect. As you can see in my pictures, the case is very close in size to the Nexus 7, it leaves a little boarder between the edge of the tablet to the edge of the case. Just enough so I would be confident that it would protect my Nexus 7 from a drop. I really like the fit of this case, can't stress that enough. Plus it is pretty light. One thing that kind of bugs me is the Power/Volume buttons are a little harder to access with case on. The case is so low profile that it comes very close to the buttons - the way ASUS place the buttons on the curve of the back panel causes this little problem, so you kind of have to angle your finger different then you normally would to push the buttons.
Lastly, the perch modes and carrying. The standing up perch mode works well for viewing movies at your desk, browsing the web and controlling your playlist for music. I stick the elastic band under the back to give it better support on slick surfaces. The laying down perch mode is okay. I wish it had a wider angle but I understand that to keep this case low profile, it had to stay at a lower angle. Usually I am carrying this case in my hand. It feels good to carry it in one hand and do want you need with the other. I can also thumb type very easy with the case on and folded back. I am typing this whole review actually from my Nexus 7 with the DODOcase, feels comfortable still.
I love the smart cover feature (sleep/wake) this case has. It works perfect, turns off and wakes the screen as intended. The elastic band is a nice feature as well. It looks great when the case is closed and it holds the case shut very well. I guess looking down the line, I can probably see that the elastic band might become dirty from always taking it off and on. I guess I could use try to wash the band if it gets to that point but I have only had it for a few days.
(TLDR)
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this case. It's very low profile which is always something I look for in a case. It's sleek and sexy and yet adds that protection for your case if you ever happen to drop it, also very light weight. The sleep/wake functions were just the icing on the cake and really completes this case. The price is steep but you do get a high quality case that is sure to get some questions, coworkers and family have really recognized the quality of this case in the few days I've spent with it and really like it. I would recommend this case for anyone that is looking into it. :good:

EDIT Nvm, refreshed lol...
Thanks for the review! Was thinking of ordering one while I waited on my Treegloo case. Didn't like the idea of the strap being the same color as the inside cover (blue) but it actually looks good!
Thanks, you just cost me $48.00+ because I ordered one of these cases to go along w/ the tablet as a Xmas gift.
Where do I send you the bill? (I would have ordered a cheap Amazon type case because I didn't know about this company until I read your review - so, obviously, this is your fault! )
Handiwork looks beautiful. I just can't get enough of these bookcases!

Loving it.
Awesome review! I've been waiting around to see if I could find any thing better but every time I see the dodo i can't resist

I came across this deal a few minutes ago. Still a few hours left for this:
DODOcase is offering 48% off Sitewide with discount code SUPPORTSMALL . Offer valid today only (Thursday April 4, 2013)
I don't want a case that covers the bezel or the back, just something to protect my n10 when it is slung in my backpack or messenger bag.
Does anyone know if these will fit the n10?
Samsung Textile Pouch
Kensington Soft Carrying Case
Proporta Perfora which is listed as a Nexus 10 case but seems to be a netbook case so will likely be too thick.
I am thinking about a sleeve myself.
To protect the nexus 10 while not in use or carrying it, but not to add bulk to the tablet while in use.
I am thinking about picking up a case logic sleeve.

I'd like to know too. You can get it through Amazon cheaper http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-LA...id=1353866151&sr=1-1&keywords=LAPST-110-BLACK and their return procedure is pretty painless.
I'd try it myself but my N10 hasn't arrived yet and I want to try the Galaxy Tab 10.1 accessories I already have before buying more "stuff".
Let us know.
I picked up this HP case (based on a recommendation in another thread):
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Mini+Laptop+Sleeve/9926416.p?id=1218196187925&skuId=9926416
I picked it up off of Amazon for $10, but the picture over on Amazon is not correct (this picture on BestBuy is correct). It has padding on both sides of the device in the main pocket plus a second zippered pocket for cable, headphones, charger etc. It is the right size and the N10 fits in the case right; but, I am sure there are smaller cases if you don't need the large second pocket across the whole case. I picked this case up to have it available now as I am watching other cases being released. I also have three more different cases on order for different situations. My favorite so far is the Poetic Slimline case, but it is not available until the end of December. Good luck.
This Samsung-made pouch fits damn-near perfect:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0055193HU/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
It fits pretty tight at first, but loosens up over about 10 insertions and removals. It doesn't cover 100% of the tablet though, there's still about ~3mm of the tablet exposed at the open end. To me it's negligible, since it's used to place the tablet into my backpack.
And it's less than 11 bucks.
I didn't want some big hard cover, just a sleeve, but also didn't want to spend any money on it so just made my own last night using half of a full-desk neoprene gaming mousemat and a needle exactly what i was after for simply carrying it around and such. It's not perfect but it was free and does it's job ut great

FYI, I bought this one
http://www.amazon.co.uk/V7-Protective-Sleeve-iPads-Tablets/dp/B0085JT0BS/
Its quite thick (~30mm) with the Nexus 10 inside, but I felt the bubbles inside should really help protect the screen when its in my laptop bag.
The zip closes no problem, but it wouldn't take a tablet even a few mm taller(in portrait), width-wise(also in portrait) there is a good 20mm space. The padding is quite thin on the zip and edges, protected, but not as well as the main faces. I feel it is a good buy.

ASUS Versasleeve
Using an ASUS Versasleeve (sold TF700) and it works great. Fit is perfect and case doubles as a stand with two positions (typing and viewing). I prefer using my tablets naked and have been through 5+ cases before deciding on the Versasleeve.

I tried this case from LLC but the N10 was too wide to fit in. I'm hoping for something like this to come out for the N10. The magnetic top closes it nicely and keeps it folded when you use it as a folio style stand. It's also paper thin. If anyone has a line on something like this for the N10 please post:

If anyone lives in the UK, I just bought a laptop neoprene case from pound land for £1 while I wait for my Poetic Slimline case to arrive from amazon. It may not be a perfect fit, but it definitely gets the job done.

Can't go too wrong for $10.62 delivered. Goo designs a beautiful product and then tells the user to either risk carrying it around naked or put it into a case that will defeat their design efforts? I believe the cover they promoted, if it had been available, would have have helped them to sell more tablets.

Thanks for the tip. I've tried it with mine and I almost didn't get it out and then sold it with my Galaxy Tab 10.1. I loved the pouch because it was very slim, minimalistic and the tablet was slightly protected when it was just laying around on the couch or when I put it in my laptop bag.
Unfortunately it's 22€ on Amazon.de (around $25) but I think it's still worth it since I hate it when a case is completely attached to the tablet.

Will post review when I get it
P.S. UPS shows tracking that my Nexus 10 will be here today...Woohoo
Got a few pictures of the Galaxy Tab Case and the Asus Versasleeve.
The galaxy case is housing the N10 pretty well at this point, with almost 0 protrusion of the tablet.
Overall, I think I will be using the Versasleeve. I remember people complaining about the plastic smell on the Nexus 7 poetic cases, but holy hell this Asus case is much worse in the magnitude of smell.
Other than the ugly brown, I think it'll work well.

it seems too thick :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UpAzolMIRo
So I picked a platinum case which seems like a re-branded Seidio, so it's not a bad case at all.
I have a concern and I did do some googling on Cell Phones and Flash Memory with magnetic fields. I've always been a firm believer you don't mix magnets and electronics. Everything I've read says it won't hurt anything with the flash memory nor the phone itself. My personal experience says otherwise. I had a magnetic pouch for once my for Samsung A990 and it caused weird screen discoloration when removed from the case. I also have had experience with another device and magnets. Two difference cases I bought for my Acer A100 which ended causing issues as well.
So really is it a good idea to keep a case with a magnet powerful enough to snap to my fridge around my phone?
Plenty of folks around here have been using a Platinum series or Surface since the day they came out without any ill effects. I've got a Platinum series case and I use it frequently, but I'll admit to using a TPU or folio-style case more often than not at home purely because I am very, very mildly concerned about the magnet. That said, it hasn't caused any distortion on my screen or anything like that.
Not an issue. Make sure to turn off under s-pen setting pwr management pen detection (when s-spen is in a holder or not) to avoid any issues with magnet interference.
Btw, I just got Seidio CONVERT which is Surface/Platinum with an extra protection shell on top of it. Just tested it out, took a ton of pictures, and will post a detailed review in a day or so. VERY IMPRESSIVE case. Defender was rushed in with lots of design faults. This one is a design perfection! And actually already sold out at Amazon where you can get it for $55 (which is actually 2 cases in a package, Surface and Convert kit on top of it). But anyway, expect a detailed review!!!
It really depends on the type of magnet and its strength if it will hurt electronics or not. I can't remember which ones are safe to use off the top of my head but a quick google search should turn up the answer. I know they are more expensive than a regular magnet so most (all?)cheap cases don't use them, but mid - highend cases *should* use them. I think it's a special kind of low strength neodymium magnet that doesn't effect electronics, but I'm not 100% positive on that. The magnet should be just powerful enough to hold the weight of the closure shut against gravity, but not strong enough to hold the closure shut against the weight of the device + gravity. So definitely no refrigerator magnets unless they are only designed to hold a sheet of paper and anything heavier will drag it down to the floor.

Thanks! After my post I did a little more digging and found that some people seem to believe there is a dead spot with the spen even with the Seidio. I did my own experiment and noticed that the magnet is strong enough to hold a precision screw driver against it while I jiggled it. The screen responded to the magnet when held right up against it. I realize that I am not going to be holding it next to the screen daily or holding screw drivers. I ended up mixing the cheap Verizon cover with the holster and it seems to work well enough. I only planned on using the holster when I wear jeans anyway. plenty of room in dress pants.

I love the Seidio CONVERT, i had the case for my Thunderbolt and they replaced it 3 times over the years due to breaks, cracks etc..

I have a leather holster with 2 magnets that hold ot closed but the part where the phone is is shielded from the magnets by a sheet of aluminum sewn inbetween the leather panels. They also sewed one in the back panel as well to hold the shape of the holster as the leather is really soft. It makes a damn good holster, look and feel of soft leather and strength and protection of an aluminum box. And the aluminum doest affect signal as it actually has an antenna booster built into the aluminum plates. I actually get better signal near the holster. Although I can't remember where it came from since my dad originally bought it for the og note then ended up ordering a handmade one for like 200 $ and gave me this one. It has a sort of woven or carbon fiber texture to the leather. I'll get some pics of it later. The one issue it had was the belt clip wasnt riveted in so it came unstitched after a while of pulling it on and off, but I actually prefer using the belt loops on it now as it doesn't stick out as far anymore. Under a tshirt you can't even tell its there.

Ive been using the best buy case since I got my note. I dont notice any spen interference. But I also only use the spen every so often.

Wouldn't magnet interfere with internal compass? Will it permanently affect it on long run?

I use the Best Buy Branded Platinum since November and there is zero problems
with the phone, S-pen or the compass. I also have a holster with a magnet to
keep it close and I never seen any issue.
It looks like this phone is very well shielded...
Thank you everyone for your input

Comes with the holster
Just a friendly FYI. Platinum is Seidio. The only difference is Seidio is the name on the product if you buy it online and Platinum is the name if you buy it at a store like Best Buy. Don't ask me why they have different names for the same products made by the same company, they just do lol.

Heya,
I just recently got my N10 - yesterday in fact - and before I take it out, I need to get a case. Leather ones seems to be the fad. I need one with a stand so I can display the N10 in my bedroom (hur hur). In future, I may also buy a bluetooth keyboard for it, but as of now, I don't see any use for one - I don't use the N10 for a load of typing.
Since there are a million different cases out there, which one is most popular and why? Thanks!
Remember, an awesome stand is required!
The moko slim case looks to be very popular, although with it's flaws such as the metal bezel thing scratching the glass, or no pogo cutout *don't know if this has been rectified on newer revisions)
The poetic slimline has some issues, and a lot of people have said they don't like it, but at the same time a lot of people myself included have found no issue with it whatsoever other than for making the power and volume buttons a little hard to use, something that the moko caters for, although something that can be easily remedied with a stanley knife or whatnot.
As to a bluetooth keyboard, unless you are typing long essays which it doesn't sound like you are, then i myself can use the onscreen keyboard two handed in much the same way i'd use a normal small bluetooth keyboard, that is to say in a cramped fashion, and type at a fairly good pace without much issue at all.

Thanks. I'll take a deep look at these two cases.
You're right. I'll give the N10 a few more weeks till I decide if I really need an external keyboard or not.
Till then, more suggestions are welcome!
Poetic Hardback (not the same as the slimline) here, love it, and dirt cheap

I originally purchased the i-Blason slim folio, which is nearly identical to the Moko in design. It's main weakness is a lack of a pogo cutout. It has a few other niggling issues (stylus loop right on top of the vol rocker, doesn't quite fold open flat to tablet back, came from factory with awful petrochemical smell) but otherwise has been great. The smell went away after a few days of airing out and it was perfectly fitted to the tablet with none of the issues I'd seen mentioned in the Poetic threads. The tablet is held securely in book mode, but the bottom is still easy to release for use in the stand configuration.
When I purchased a pogo charging cable, I decided to buy the Moko slim as it looked just like the i-Blason, was cheap ($9.99) and had a pogo cutout. It is about the same (cheaper feeling cover material) , but the closing clasp on the Moko is a bit of a deal breaker for me as it requires much more force to get it in place against the tablet top. So, I'm still using the i-Blason until I figure out a better plan. That plan may involve cutting a pogo port in the i-Blason if the Moko can't be coerced into a less difficult clasp arrangement with some pliers.

I just picked up the Moko case from Amazon and received it. Other than the latch at the top being a little stiff initially, it seems to be operating better now after a day of use, it's not anything that would scratch the unit though I don't think. I would recommend it as it has a tight and secure fit/feel to it overall. The pogo charger works with the case, the cutout is there now, if it was missing before it's not now. Worth $12.99 that's for sure.
I got the Fintie 360 rotating case and love it. Seems a couple people have had little issues but mine is flawless and I love it's versatility
I'm rocking the Poetic Durabook and I love it.

Looks good, but I can't find a video on it. I need to see it in action and need to read a review or something. Thanks for the link.
I got the Moko ebay in red colour and I am very happy with it.

Poetic Revolution Case
Personally I bought the Poetic Revolution case. Its the closest thing to a otterbox- like case and it runs about 35 USD. has 2 stands built in, one for the picture frame view for landscape and and portrait and 2 for a low lying, upward facing stand. (almost like a keyboard). I think this is the only brand that i have seen that has built a durable case such as this. Otterbox and Gummdrop have yet to do it.
As a side note this case DOES NOT obscure the cameras, speakers or microphones.
Heres a link to amozon were I purchased it and recieved it internationally in less than 5 business days.
