Im on cm10.1 and franco kernel, I know you cant OC the cpu, but I may switch kernels, what is everyone using to OC and UV the cpu and gpu? What may be the better kernel to do this with?

Trickster works the best with M kernel.
Franco has his own app for his kernel and I'd recommend only using it with his kernel.
Trickster free and easy to use

Tegrak overclock works on EF02 allowing up to 1.3ghz
Tegrak Ultimate can UV/OV as well
Don't see this here yet so just gonna let everyone here know that tegrak overclock has been updated and supports our epics. I also wanted to set up a thread to discuss internal voltages and such that our gingerbread epics like. It also appears we can only go up to 1.3ghz.
I reccomend buying tegrak ultimate to support this awesome developer
The free version of tegrak can be used but does not apply after reboot.

Oh nice, how'd you come across this? Also we need source OC if I'm correct so is this actually possible? (Please do correct me if I'm mistaken. )

It works and shows in quadrant I got 3304 1.3ghz is a little unstable but 1.252ghz is perfect. The evo 3d got overclocked without source we just needed some love from tegrak

It works. 1.3ghz makes my phone crash. Probably because the voltage isn't set high enough cause it works fine on overclock froyo kernels. I am getting 3300+ on quadrant @1.252ghz w/journaling on though.

Quadrant. You need an ext4 ef02 rom to get high benchmarks like that. There aren't any on xda, check out bonsai or acs

The hardware hasn't changed, so the simple answer is, whatever worked for your individual phone on froyo and eclair... Your values will be different than everyone else's, however, so a new thread won't really yield anything useful, just like the other threads.
As discussed before, any discussion of OC and UV settings its like trying to determine a universal diet for everyone - we're all human, but we won't all be perfectly healthy on the same diet. Sorry for the rant, but this particular topic needs to die already...

great news...can't wait untill the source code is released for gingerbread, so our great epic devs can really get this ball rolling, BTW, BIG THANKS to all of our epic developers out there, you guys are doing a great job.........
but i think i'll stick with overclocked froyo till source code
STABLE 1.4ghz ALL DAY!!!!!
quadrant: 2966
linpack: 24.982
rom: syndicate frozen 1.2
kernel: genocide 2.0
I have mixed results at times by just enabling the app and going on any frequency below 1.3 I can somehow bog my phone down into a crash, but I'm going to keep testing.

Works great. Now I can use adwlauncher without that horrible lag. Thanks for the info.
In your opinion, which is better, CyanogenMod or Overcome? Currently, I'm running Overcome 2.0, but have often noticed lag when I'm using it, though I'm not sure if this is a problem with the ROM.
Overcome 3.10 it looks good and is fast. I prefer touchwiz to cyanogenmod because of task manager and other samsung apps.
If you want speed go for cyanogenmod, if you want more functionality go for overcome.

No, because cyanogenmod has all bloatware removed so it is faster.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
cm7 is fast but missing optimize code for tab , your music player drain 3time more than stock kernel. most video codec need software decoder. These are stopper if you use them frequency.
but things i love in cm7 is theme , i love white notification bar which cannot find in other roms.
you also can redesign auto brightness level to work as it should to be.

I agree with you, performance are not calculated by numbers of bloatware. Quadrant checks how fast your tab performs when doing integer, float, etc calculations, and also io checks (read, write database), 2D graphics and 3D.
check out my post about this.
if you look for speed, true open source softwares, get cm7
If you look for a balance between battery life and performance and also some stock softwares, get Overcome (if ur ok with ads blocked), the flashing knowledge is a bonus as well (thanks to thepitbull with his extensive howto).
If what you need only undervolt, add koxudaxi kernel to your stock rom.

There is an app called "pimp my cpu" (I believe it's in the market) that will allow you to easily overclock the Glitch kernel. Might want to give that whirl.

I don't have it on my phone right now, but I believe all you have to do is open the app, pick a maximum cpu frequency (e.g. 1400 MHz) and long-click on it. It will pop up "set as max", and when you click that, it will put that as your max speed until you reboot.
If you want to go farther than that, you can create profiles that will load on startup, and tweak the undervoltage settings, but for a simple overclocking, you're actually in a good place with PMC.
The best one for glitch kernel is the nstools

Search the forums!!!
notecore hasnt build in capability to work with standard apps. Only tegrak. Which I dont like either. Undervolting itself is disputed thought.
Notecore is undervolted itself though.

Hey guys,
I'm going to make an OC kernel for Xperia T. Which featuress would you like to seen in the kernel?
Krabappel2548
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
Awesome dude, I was starting to get worried if I should have got the Sony Xperia T, due to slow development compared to other phones.
What feature i'm interested in is OCing the GPU higher just like other phones with the same SoC. I thought the Adreno 225 will handle games well for now but it seems it has a few lag on Asphalt 6, Nova 3, Batman and Spiderman etc, not like I play them all but it did lag. Along with a configurable GPU clock and undervolt, like the the Galaxy Nexus and S2/3.
Another one will be OCing the CPU to 2.1Ghz as most other same chip can get to, not like i'll overclock it, as there is no need really, the chip is already fast enough, but it be great to have that feature included as well. Plus undervolting as well.
Updating the linux kernel, remove all the crap in the kernel etc
Thats all for me
EDIT: Linaro would be good as well, as it seems to benefit to performance.
EDIT2: This Kernel is an good example what i'm talking about, be awesome if you could port his app interface with his permission of course, if everything goes well, I always donate quite a bit to support the developer (some motivation ).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1871946
I would just want a better battery life. No need for more power for me or undervolting. If so, let the Kernel do it automaticly.
Is htis project still alive? jw since theres still no way to uv or oc looking into do it myself but im stillnoob at linux i would just want a way to oc to whatevers possible and same with uv
I too hope we get a better feature set, I/O schedulers and oc options,
I would like to see it set up so it boots with stock values and then tweaks can then be applied after. Also profiling would be useful, I know peetr played with some values to do with thermal throttling, would be good to see some use control for that!!! Kind of hoping that if this is not longer happening then maybe Doomlord will release one when his studies ease up a bit!

OK
As far as I know it is currently not possible to implement OC/UC/UV or new schedulars or governors without a custom kernel, hence, with a locked bootloader you will not be able to achieve these effects.
It is possible, shardul did it for neo.
Theres also an elegant script in the thread for loading them.
Take the source of the module and compile it in the source tree of stock kernel , of course you will need root at least to copy the modules to system.
