[Q] SkyDrive Photo backup on Wifi - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am backing up data via skydrive of taken photos and videos.
I set up to to this when Wifi settings are on in decent quality.
But for some reason not all files are going to skydrive even having the phone in the Wifi over night.
Is there a manual way to trigger this process or is it just not working properly
Screenshot for example are all not transferred in the cloud

noone? uploads waiting in photo app just shows the taken photos with the camera but not screenshots and saved pictures

I would check your settings, maybe enable and disable SkyDrive settings, since I just tested this and image I saved from internet got uploaded under 20sec of saving it to phone.

checked that.. turned it off and on .. but still its just the camera roll folder getting synced. saved something something and screenshots are not getting synced anymore

I thought the default camera app adds lat/lon to exif since 1.5, if not there is always snap photo...
Default doesn't, so probably go with SnapPhoto.
You can also geotag photos taken with a DSLR/digicam by installing Google My Tracks on the phone. Before you begin taking photos, you need to do two things: 1) Make sure your camera and phone clocks are synchronized (within 1 minute would be good). I suggest syncing the camera to the phone, as the phone gets highly accurate time from the GSM network. 2) Start My Tracks and begin recording your GPS position. Now just keep your phone on you as you take pictures. When you are done taking photos stop the GPS recording, choose the Save to SD option and export the track as a GPX file. On your computer, install a geotagging application like GeoSetter or Gpicsync. In the app, specify the folders containing your photos and GPX files. Then all you need to do is click the sync or apply button and the app will automatically look for GPX files with similar timestamp ranges and apply the geotag data to your pictures.

If you want to support OpenStreetMap.org and similar types of activities geotagged photos of street signs and photos in general are useful for the OpenStreetView project...

N1 photo share location with picasa

I took some photos last week and the N1 stored the location in the photos. I had GPS on and the location is showing up in the details of the photo when viewed in the Gallery app but when I share to Picasa wirelessly using the phone the location does not show up in Picasa.
Does anyone now how to resolve this?

[Q] Strange Gallery Problem

I am having some weird problems with my Gallery app.
1) Gallery seems to take a long time to open certain photos. While the photo is opening, the screen will usually timeout and turn off before it's even displayed. If I keep the screen awake, sometimes the picture will never load. I can flick to another photo and then back and I'll see the picture.
2) Copied a few photos to a folder on my Internal SD card. All of them are around 1-2M, 72dpi photos taken with various digital cameras. When I browse to that folder in the gallery, it will hang and take forever to generate the previews. Of the 10 photos in the gallery, 8 of them will not generate a preview and I can't open them. I have one photo that does open but the same exact photo that was touched up in Photoshop and has all the same properties as the original will not open.
Media scanner is working, I am able to add/remove photos to the internal storage and they open fine on my laptop, I can take new photos although they don't always show up in the gallery immediately.
My phone is the Vibrant and has been rooted, fixlag applied, and Captivate camera apk installed. This problem was happening before I changed the camera software.

Saved Pictures Aren't Shown in Photos App Although Present on the Phone. Viewer Issue

Howdy,
Lately I've been saving a number of pictures from Internet Explorer and Whatsup, and once I got to Photos|Saved pictures, I saw many saved photos aren't there. Curious, I've plugged the phone to the PC and browsed to SD Card\Pictures\Saved Pictures and... all of the saved pictures were there in the Saved picture, they just didn't appear in the Photos app.
What could be the issue? Could that be traced anyhow? Pretty itching issue.
Luxon
PS.: I've been experiencing an issue like that when I've had reading failures after I turned on Full File System Access once on my Samsung ATIV S. But then I had issues with Photos app closing every now and then after it was launched. I don't experience such issues now, Photos app and other apps like Camera don't close on starting.
Hmm... are they all image formats that the Pictures app recognizes? IE supports a lot of image formats (SVG, for example) that are not officially supported image formats on the phone.
When you save a picture in IE, it gets shown fullscreen and there's a message at the top, even when it says finished, it only saves the picture when you wait for it to disappear, clicking back will cancel it.

how to avail google photos unlimited storage for photos n videos for Nokia 7 plus

As Nokia mention in its webpage...
How to do ?
It's not specific to this Nokia 7 plus. It's for all phones up to 16MP uploading, it's unlimited.
The Google photos app uploads your photos automatically to the cloud, very handy. There doesn't seem to be a gallery app on this phone, just photos app,
Just double check your backup settings in this app and your all set, you can log in to photos anywhere with your Google account
As long as you don't choose the "original" option in the Photos app back up settings, you have unlimited photos storage.
