Try Use THANKS If I Helped .
You have to be connected to a VZ network to activate since they use CDMA and do not work like standard GSM phones that you can just insert a Sim.
You might have to mail it to someone in the states to activate it for you then mail it back to you.
Or call VZ and tell them your traveling and had to reset because your phone was acting up. There might be something they can do.

Hi everyone,
I recently got a kaiser phone and tried to unlock it.. I'm not sure if it worked.. but then I tried putting a regular at&t sim card and it doesn't get any signal.. What do I do.. I did install the new rom for it.. Maybe I should restore it to the orgininal rom that came with it.. (anyone has the old rom that comes with the phone when it comes) I can try to call and see if they can send me another one.. Or what should i do. I put at&t and get no signal.. It keeps telling me search for network.. HHHHHHHHHHHHELLLP. I paid 420 dollars for the phone and I really don't want it down the drain.. I will donate to anyone that helps me fix. it.
Please specify everything better. I cant really tell what version you have what you installed and what exactly happened .

Have you set the phone (under settings>phone>band) to Auto sellect the phone band? If not it may be trying the European frequencies.
Just set the bands to auto and then select GSM and then it sould be fixed, if thats the case .
So after i rooted my phone and decided to put a new rom into it which is the HTC desire software on it works amazing but whenever people send me pics i cant download them like it says download i click download and then the download button pops again and its getting frustrated. thanks for the help
I think it might help if people knew where you lived (country) and what service provider you used. Also do you mean in MMS, twitter, email, etc?
Yea its MMS like I said I click the download button and it pops right back up srry for not including that.

Ok, it sounds to me like possibly your APN is not set up properly for your carrier (Can you connect to the internet?) or possibly an issue such as the one SOftbank customer's in Japan face. I am not sure though as I am new to the whole cell phone hacking and fixing thing
By the way, what carrier do you use (AT&T, T-Mobile US, T-Mobile UK, Softbank, 3, Orange, etc)?
Some companies change the way their SMS and MMS work is why I ask.
i have tmobile but i used to be able to download them now i cant after i rooted it and put the HTC desire software.
apn settings..
Thx bro that worked
Okay so i brought an htc hero from a friend and i proceeded to the sprint store to get it activated. to my surprise they couldnt do it because after activation the hero wouldnt have a signal at all. so they were going to order another antenna for the phone. which should be here tomorrow but i dont think its the atenna anyway. but after talking to my friend he says that he had rooted/flashed the phone. when i was in class without signal still to the phone i got on the internet via wi-fi and noticed on the facebook page that my phone was picking up that it was a verizon droid which it isnt. now can this be causing my phone to not connect to the network or not. and i talked to a person from sprint over the phone for over an hour and he said that my esn number on the back of the battery doesnt match the one that is supposed to be connected to the phone. plz someone help me im stuck and dont know where to go from here. Thank You in advance

You'll need to RUU... find instructions and everything you need here
Going to send a donation to the site if this works as it'll save me money I would spend in a shop getting it fixed. I read the rules and did a search for a similar topic, but each one seemed to be slightly different from my situation, I hope this is the right area of the forum as I'm new to it.
The phone was brought from T-Mobile but I also have an O2 account that I use for work so would like to be able to switch between sims with ease. I'm a total newbie with Samsung, especially the way it works so treat my question as if you were answering a child
I'm on a mac and used the method posted on this site to unlock it and that worked (as far as I know), it said unlock successful etc but now the sim isn't recognized apart from it being on O2, and there is a symbol of a sim card with red around it and a blue circle with a line through it at the top where reception would be. What's even more worrying is that the original T-Mobile sim card is getting the same response as well.
Thanks a lot.

Are you sure you fitted the sim card properly? Last month I had a blonde moment when I inserted the sim card the wrong way and wondered why I had no reception.
Also you might want to clean the contacts.

You could also check you have network settings for O2 .
Suggest it may have failed to unlock if its not the settings .
Just borrow another network sim and try that same error on sim = not unlocked .

I've tried that, but no luck. It says my sim isn't able to connect to that provider, despite it being an O2 sim that works perfectly on another phone. Or do you mean network settings that needs to be manually put into the phone?

Hah, I actually read about a few people doing this as I was searching the net for a solution but I have put it in right. I even put it in upside down just to be sure I wasn't being an idiot.

Have you checked your APN settings in your phone?
To get to the settings section, follow this path.
Settings>Wireless and Network>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names
I was going to post a link to a site that has all the U.K carrier settings, but I need a few more posts to be able to do that.
Just do a google search for each mobile carriers APN settings and manually enter the information.
I'm not sure if this will solve your problem, but it's a good place to start.

They did not set up your phone in store your you? They are kind of Nazi about that.
Do you have your SIM card installed correctly? If the SIM is not in, or not in correctly then 4G wont work.
Also do you have mobile data turned on, have to ask.
Mine data is set to global and works but yeah try setting it to CDMA/LTE

Settings, Tethering & Networks, Mobile Networks, System Select, LTE/CDMA. If you don't have that option, something is up with your phone, might be a bad sim or something, take it back to the store.
I've had mine on global since forever. Global does not turn off LTE. Perhaps something is physically wrong. Check the SIM
You need a new SIM. Happened to me. Did a bunch of research and there was hints of the SIM that comes with the phone by default sometimes having an issue with 4G. I called Verizon and they sent me one next day. Installed it and been fine ever since.
Try it, It is free and I am pretty sure it will fix it.

If you have a local (not 3rd party) store, you can get a SIM free there also.
