I am new and haven't post 10 threads yet, i just rooted the [ROM][ICS][IMM76L] CyanogenMod 9 RC (Build 4) By arco68
i have a problem when i surfing browser or using wifi it drain my battery very fast from full battery to 70% in an hour.
is it a bug or only my phone problem?

Have you tried Re-calibrating the battery with this APP
Run Battery right down > Plug in Charger and open up Battery Calibrate > Follow what it says
What browser are you using?... Dolphin mini Browser is good
Apps running in the background?
Changed kernel?
Put a picture up of Battery usage it may help

Kernels - Custom kernels give improvements that give us additional features from our hardware that the stock kernel does not
Examples include overclocking a device to frame rate issues, Kernels are involved with that. Its up to you to choose the best kernel to use with a ROM. You can always stick with the one that comes with a custom ROM. Some common terms are oc [over clocked], UV [under volted], etc.
I dont know a lot about CM Roms Im a GB Rom guy
But there are many kernels to choose from and when someone Makes a Rom they try and use the best provided for there Rom but isnt great if you have issues with it.
But could be kernel, modem, brightness settings, apps or things you have running in the background
Can you put up a picture/screenshot of your battery usage?

hi sorry for late reply.

High battery drain i9001

Hello,
I have a problem with the battery drain on my galaxy s plus.
When the phone is standby its using 40-60mA. When I have lucky at night it is 20-40mA.
I didn't find the problem. 4 weeks ago with my htc desire and same apps and settings the battery used 8-12mA in standby day and night.
3G and Wifi always on.
Standard 2.3.5 rom. Push apps: gmail, gtalk an whatsapp (same as on the desire).
Yesterday rooted and deleted a lot of system apps to clean up the rom. Flash this morning a custom kernel with CWM. Nothing helps
I was happy with the bigger battery but with this battery drain.....
Has someone a idea?
Are there more people with same problem?

Rom with best battery life and speed?

Hi I was wondering, which rom has the best battery life and is nice and smooth. Not really looking for anything with a bunch of extras, maybe just stock look, that 14 toggle thing if any rom has those, nice battery life, and one that is nice and smooth and not too glitchy. Not really speed, more smoothness. Thanks.
My recommendation...
[ROM] [23.01] Chrack´s XXLA4 - FM2.0 Kernel - Multi CSC [Full 546MB / Small 337MB]
with the following kernel...
[Kernel][01/21/12][Samsung Galaxy Note][AbyssNote][v3.3]

I don't know what's wrong with my device, however, unlike other ROMs, Cassie's XtraLite ROM does not give me a battery overheat problem. I am using it with the latest SpeedMod kernel from hardcore (same reason, this kernel does not give me overheat problem on my device).
Cassie's XtraLite ROM does not have all the eye candy, but I prefer function over fashion. So far I'm happy with the performance and the battery life.
What do u guys think about rocketrom v19 with abyss kernal 3.2? Thats what i am running right now...only picked it cuz it has the most replies/views in the forums...should i switch?

If you like it and everything is running well & smoothly, then you don't need to switch
As for me, I stop flashing around and start enjoying my Note I settled with Cassie's XtraLight ROM and speedmod kernel.

Feels fast and smooth. Battery life seems good. And its pretty configuable (as much or as little bloatware as you like).

Probably. Didn't work out well for me. And forum is kind of an "in crowd" who ignore posts about problems.

I use rocketrom 19.1 with speed kernel. Been a few days since I've used it and I've been getting roughly 14-18 hours with moderate to high usage everything turned on bluetooth, gps, wifi, and medium brightness. If you have already invested in juice defender ultimate and battery saver pro you can squeeze even more out of your battery. I have both installed and I am getting 50+ hours web browsing, streaming music, and playing games like order of chaos. I'm a battery nut and pretty OCD about it lol

I have tried all the roms for the note but i keep coming back to stock XXLA4.
For me that works still the best and have the best battery life. All the other roms are nice and look great and have lots of other stuff but the all have small problems. But it is nice to test them and see for your self what you like the most.
yep stock is better wait for CM9 casue CM is the best

[Q] Good battery ROM

Hello people,
first of all I want to say that I know there are more questions like this one, but I couldn't find an up-to date one.
I'd prefer an ICS or later rom since.. well the GB roms are quite outdated, but if you know a rom which offers a great battery life don't hesitate to tell about it.
I'm corrently using CM10 unofficial from Pengus77:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2058231
Here is a screenshot of my current battery life with light use (no data, little wifi for whatsapp and sometimes checking my timetable screenshot) :

And it's not like I have an ancient battery or something ( +- half a year old).
Hello!
I'm using Paranoid Android and I like it a lot. Battery life is really great. I'm using my phone from morning till the night and almost always battery last long enough. I'm using it for surfing, listening music, phone calls, messages so I think that this is really nice rom.
AW: [Q] Good battery ROM
Got to confirm that! Using PA with Kowalski kernel 113, OC @ 1,3 GHz some small UV and a great app as recommended by pengus and tonyp which is greenify! Take a look at it

Wise choice.
Note: Don't judge the battery too fast. Wait till it have done a few cycle charges (meaning: plug charger in at a low battery percentage, keep it charching till its 100% - repeat few times.).

Yes, I will (although a lot of people say you should only charge to 80/90% to not overcharge your battery)
What governor are you all using btw? just normal interactive?
Update: installed the rom, all my apps, filled in my preferences/personal customisation etc. and I lost about 25%
so everything seems to go quite well with this rom.
Just one question:
what is a good alternate theme instead of the xperia one?

Well, here are the results of the PA rom:
As you can see the battery life is MUUUCH better. This is at almost the same usage as seen on the other screenshot so It's a fair comparison.
Thank you for informing me about this great rom and as a token of my esteem I'll give you all a :good:.

So my question is: Is my battery dead or is it something with my Note? Has anyone had this kind of problem?

I dont see any reason for issues except your screen power utilization is high...can you try to install apk night mode which can help to reduce your screen brightness. Also do a "Clear Dalvik Cache" if possible install the lates gapps and try should fix the problem. Let me know.
I just got the new battery will try it and see what happens.

I hv JB stock rom on my Note, which i updated recently from ICS.
Battery drain so fast everyday.
I browsed through internet website and found some help as below.
1. backup all data needed.
2. factory reset
3. wipe cache
4. reboot.
battery drain problem solved.
Try clean wipe....
May you got dirty wipe...
Just my opinion...

So it's been 2 days since my new battery arrived and all's fine. No more flickers and after all day of using and with me it means from 4:30 am till 11:00 pm i was left with 23% of battery.
So the issues was the battery not the roms, kernel, or anything else.
Thx people for all of your advices and help.

yes the samsung batteries are pretty ordinary, one of my friends had a battery failure after 8 months. try not overclocking for an optimum battery performance.

[Q] looking for stable and battery friendly rom

hey guys,
So I got this phone and as I'm not a fan of the sense 5.0 I installed the GE from this topic here
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341395
I noticed that the battery was really really bad in this rom.
I was just wondering what is a good stable rom that is battery friendly. I'm not really a gamer so i don't need to worry about maxing out my specs.
Also I understand that there is no best rom I am just looking for the views of other people.
And a recommendation in kernel would be nice too.

I use Android Revolution 11.5 with ElementalX kernel.

I use ViperOne 1.1.1 with Bulletproof Kernel (HTC Battery Saver On).
Battery life is amazing. Can usw my One about two days until i have to charge it.:good:
One more vote for ARHD, really awesome battery life. Currently I'm running TrickDroid 8.0 and overnight I lost 11% while on ARHD it was 2% only. Plus, on TD8 I feel some nasty scrolling lag.
You realise that this thread will just end up a long list of different rom/kernel combinations? Which emphasises the fact that different people will recommend different combinations depending on their usage. The only way to know for yourself is to test them yourself - I know you will read that everywhere, but only because it's true.

Maybe give 'greenify' a try independent of ROM.

When I received my one via ups I was so excited I turned it right on and activated it was that a bad idea? Should I had charged it first before turning on? I allowed it to die completely before the first charge my battery is alright I'm just wondering should I be getting better results? Also my phone shuts down on random and I have to hold volume down and power to reboot doesn't even go to bootloader. So I ran a ruu and now on complete stock to see if the issue goes away. I was also s off with revone I reverted back to s on before the ruu though I'm wondering is the shutting down have to do with me not charging and damaging the battery, the s off, or hardware. I'm hoping it was just a bad root so I dont have to swap phones anyone have any ideas?

I think we all understand it's best to find out for your self what the BEST ROM/KERNEL is. I think that some of of just like to see what everybody is using and how it is working for them in real world. I hate how alot of people in these threads are so reluctant to give out any info on what they are personally using.
