Galaxy Mini 2 - Install firmware by odin - Samsung Galaxy Mini

Hi,
I have a problem with firmware installation by Odin3v1.87. This is a new phone (GT-S6500).
Odin returned:

In odin i cleared all except Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.
In PDA i selected firmware (S6500DXXLK2_S6500DXXLK2_S6500DOXXLK2_HOME.tar.md5).
I don't know what is wrong.
Kies is turned off, antivirus too.
Help me, please!

the operation got failed
try different firmware although the md5 was ok which means firmware is not corrupted

You should have placed that file under One Package field instead of PDA.(AT YOUR OWN RISK).

I have not "one package" field in my Odin3v1.87.
From what I know, Odin for Galaxy Mini 2 (GT-S6500) have not One Package option.

Tick one package option on the same Odin screen (below com port mapping) & then you'll see its field active.

There are only Re-Partition, Auto Reboot, F. Reset Time, Flash Lock, Phone EFS Clear, Bootloader Update, but there is nowhere One Package field.
I can't send a screenshot because I have less than 10 posts.

I wonder...!! coz the single firmware file of extension ".tar.md5" is flashed via one package. Maybe you should use higher versions of Odin.:sly:
& I think you are trying to flash gingerbread so it also has a SS.dll file along with it, right!!

Yes I found it!! One package ticker is there(1st option) in higher Odin versions coz I saw it in Odin v4.38 (dunno if it's compatible with ur phone). Once you tick that, then One Package field becomes active. But **DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK** Bro!!
Good luck!!:thumbup::thumbup:

I am afraid, You are Superbricked. I have been in this situation recently. I revived my phone, using ADB method though i had to lose 3GB space, but thats not a big deal for me, as I have got 32GB external SD. If you have got the warranty, just flash the original PIT+ICS rom (won't install) but you claim your warranty saying Samsung that it got bricked while you were upgrading through Kies. If you have burnt your boats, follow my route
Sorry for the Brick.

Is my NOTE bricked beyond repairs.

I was on asylum omni rom build dated 02.02.2014.
One fine day, my fone just got switched off. When started it was stuck on Galaxy note screen and wont go into recovery mode. Download mode working fine though.
I read a lot of threads in this forum and..
1. Got Odin 3.07
2. Downloaded latest philz kernel
3. tried to flash under PDA tab but stuck at "NAND write fail "
4. Downloaded 16GB pit file for N7000.
5. FLashed PIT file with repartition option ticked. Then it said "Repartition failed"

If download mode is working, I would suggest to try installing a Samsung TouchWiz stock ROM via Odin. But better wait for someone with more knowledge than me or someone that have already faced that issue to reply you
@chasmodo You are on that device since a lot, some idea for that error?

Try flashing any new version of philz in PC Odin. Then do full wipes and try flashing your custom ROM again from sdcard. Post back.

ODin i was using was 3.09.
Flashed now using odin3 v1.85. Reinstalled usb drivers and rebooted pc before that.. ensured i did not flash the pit file and pda option was selected. Also changed the USB cable adn trying different usb ports but it seems by only com3 is getting me ahead. rest all does not recognize the phone. Stuck here now.
EDIT1: also..initially my binary counter was zero.. now every time i flash with odin, it is increasing. now it is 4.
Edit 2: I tried different versions of odin. 1.3, 1.85, 3.07, 3.09. gettting stuck at nand write start always..
Edit 3: It actually completed with 3.07 version but still operation failed.
Did you reboot into download mode?
i was in download mode when using odin.
Should i go ahead and flash pit files as mentioned here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667886&page=116
Whenever I had to use Odin, I did use the 1.87 version.
Make sure that ..
+ no antivirus is running etc
+ KIES is not running (kill all KIES processes via task manager)
The counter is a secondary problem> Triangle Away > after you revived your Note
Good luck?
Sent via GALAXY NOTE N7000 // KitKat
i have disabled AV and FW. I uninstalled kies but kept the usb driver for mobiles. Tried Odin 1.87 again and getting stuck at nand write start.
I flashed all custom pit files as mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661590&page=2 for case 2. but all failed. It said "Repartition failed"
I dont understand this step in manual partition.
"- Prepare adb folder: download adb folder from Here and extract adb folder to c: driver of your computer, you will have the tools folder which has adb.exe in it. You should now have adb working for your Note.
- Install custom recovery so that you can get into recovery and connect adb. "
Does this mean my fone is superbricked? What has caused this.. i was on stable omni rom which many are using.. i always stayed on stock kernels coming with the rom.
Boot partition could be corrupted for some unknown reason. Take the battery out for a while and see if you can find an Odin flashable stock ICS or JB kernel. (Dr Ketan ?) If flash is successful (it won't raise flash counter), you can boot into stock recovery and flash a Philz kernel and wipe everything, then flash a new rom. If not, your phone is as good as hardbricked. Worse actually, because download mode is still accessible and raised flash counter is there for all to see
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
i am already out of warranty.. How does the counter matter? [My counter is on 8 now. Can i reset the counter now?]
I am trying to search stock JB kernel in the forum. Search option yielding nothing. Will keep searching..
What would cause such an hardbrick?
Ok so counter is not an.issue then.
Phones just die for no reason sometimes
Edit: See if.you can flash a modified pit from @hg42 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667886

there are 352 patched pits in this for N7000 16GB. Which one do i exactly flash?
Can anyone please point me to an Odin flashable stock ICS or JB kernel. (Dr Ketan ?) ?

I think I might have found the problem. SW REV. CHECK FAIIL. DEVICE: 2, BINARY: 1 message could be because I am using an old Stock ROM. A few days ago, I did OTA upgrade then I root it. Now when I try to unroot it with a lower version of the Stock ROM, it will not work.
Any advise where I can get the latest Stock ROM that would be a great help.

Sadly, there's no PIT file for N9208. I need it too :crying: :crying: :crying:
A bad pit can bricked your phone you can create your own pit show this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916936
Use KIES3,
select."Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation"
Follow instraction and Plug your phone (Downloading mode). Now your PC should install driver.
After driver installed, turn off Kies3. And now use Odin to flash N9208, the problem of FAIL should solved.

Can't Unroot Note 4 5.1.1 using ODin

For the past couple of days I've been unable to unroot my device using Odin, which I have done many of times on the past. I went to Sammobile and got the latest firmware to flash back to stock, but everytime I attempt to do so the process Fails. USB Debugging is enabled so I don't have a clue what the problem could be. I will list some general information as well as the results of the Odin process below:
Baseband Version: N910TUVUD0K2
Odin process result:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..

Updated: I've stumbled across a thread here on XDA which has a mirror link to Stock TW Firmware/Bootloader/Modem N910TUVU2DOK2, and after flashing this mirror link using Odin... my phone now is unrooted and back to stock. Many thanks to ShrekOpher for posting the mirror link and here is a link to his post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/mirror-stock-tw-t3260858
Same issue
I just posted about this same issue a couple of days ago, if you go to my only post ive done so far you can see how we are in the same boat. What were you using before you got to your problem, which custom ROM?
I had this problem on the note edge. What helped me was flashing cwm recovery and wiping everything

make sure u didn't check in settings the reactivation lock,
use twrp, wipe everything except sdcard... then boot into downloader mode, and it should work, I do know the reactivation lock should be the only thing to stop you.
hope that helps...

I check and made sure that the reactivation lock was disabled, but it still didn't work. I guess I will keep an eye open to see if this issue can get resolved sometime in the near future

I can't Odin to stock unless I change the name of the firmware file to .tar. it skips the md5 check I believe.

Also go to supersu and do a full unroot before. I'm thinking maybe the supersu backup script could cause issues too

G920T Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update G920TUVU3EPD1_G920TTMB3EPD1_TMB.zip

I posted it in the Marshmallow Update Thread..
I thought it would get lost in the mix so I wanted to give it's own thread..
Edit: Please do not try to flash the .Zip in recovery.. this is just a compressed file. Unzip and you can flash this using ODIN..
I recommend a factory reset before flashing..

just regular flash through ODIN?

Put the .tar into PDA and flash. You'll have to install your recovery again through ODIN also. I haven't been able to find a root unless you use a universal kernel in the s6 thread or in the unified development thread. I'm DL'ing now. I'll post after I try a few kernels compatible.

Possibly. However, there is no recovery for our device listed on the recovery page. The fact that recovery breaks the boot.img without root sounds shaky though. I'll try it a few different ways. DL is done. Flashing now.

This is 100 percent stock.. from Sam Mobile..
Hell it came out early this morning.. No one has had the time yet to make a custom version..
I don't recommend updating from a Custom ROM..
If your 100 percent 5.1.1 Stock you can flash this with ODIN with no problems..
Oh its a Zipped .Tar file.. Don't try to flash the Zip.. Again do NOT try and flash the .Zip.. it will fail and you will be stupid to try..

Which functions? I haven't noticed anything missing so far.
I'm having trouble flashing this in Odin (3.09). It gets stuck at NAND Write Start! I tried several times. I even waited 15 minutes, but no progress. Is this because the TAR file is 3.6 GB? My computer recognizes my phone's USB connection. Earlier tonight I flashed a TAR file for my Galaxy Tab S without a problem. So weird. I tried different USB ports and reinstalled the drivers.
Here's what ODIN shows:

Hi,
I tried to flash this using odin but it did not work so I went ahead and used Samsung Smart Switch that automatically downloads 6.0.1 and flashes it. The process, however, failed and now the phone (G920T) is stuck on a blue screen that says, "An error has occurred while updating the system software. Use emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software." (image: http://i.imgur.com/t401aO6.png). Rebooting the phone takes me to the same place. I'm, however, able to get into download mode. I have tried the emergency recovery in download mode as specified by this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi7O0OvnS2E, but it still fails, giving me this error: http://i.imgur.com/t401aO6.png. Could someone help me get my phone working?
A few notes:
- My previous firmware was 5.1.1 stock, however, I had flashed a rooted kernel using odin.
- Within download mode, it says the following: swrev b:3 k:2 s:2
Thank you in advance.
EDIT: flashing with odin gives me this error: http://i.imgur.com/oGZiCow.png

Thanks. That worked. I didn't know there was a newer version available.
I don't suppose there will be a recovery-flashable version of this one, will it?
