Hey,
Wanted to do a quick poll on how you use your amazing PA ROM.
hybrid with pie, phoneUI without pie...
should be interesting
I enabled multiple choice - select more than one if you keep switching between two interfaces
Options are:
1. Expended Desktop enabled
if disabled:
2. PhoneUI with pie (nav 0%)
3. PhoneUI
4. Phablet with pie (nav 0%)
4. Phablet
5. TabletUI
selected PhoneUI but I wasn't aware they made pie accessible from nav @ 0% again...awesome.
First Choice: PhoneUI with Pie (Nav 0%). This is the most normal way to use the phone. UI Paradigm is very consistent across all interactions.
Second Choice: Expanded Desktop on Phone UI. Awesome screen estate! But the non-fullscreen lockscreen makes overall interaction inconsistent. For people who are obsessive with UI design, it won't settle well with them, like me.
Third Choice: Tablet UI 220. Could've been the best UI but some kinks need to be polished. First is the bug in Contacts app which shows a blue line. Second, some elements are too big like notification bar clock, app icons in the app drawer, etc.
I am a silent tech-obsessed fan. And so far, PA with Nova Launcher Prime on Nexus 4 gives me the best smartphone experience yet. The only element I love about my iPhone 5 is it's very consistent interaction, not to mention uniform icon sizes which Android doesn't bother implementing.

if you look closely you see it making apps look uniform even for those for which it doesnt bring premade icons.
#4 - Phablet with Pie.
Takes a little getting used to buy I love it.

For me that's the biggest part of it - I like Pie and think it has it's uses, but the best thing is being able to make everything smaller. Everytime I install a new rom I'm shocked by how big all the boxes and bars are - they don't need to be on such a high resolution screen!
I didn't use the expanded desktop, i use only the Phone UI
I use hybrid without pie. For some applications I changed size and layout options and set sometimes expanded desktop.
Example for chrome; size 250dpi and layout 720p with expanded desktop.
Phone ui, I like stock look. I also installed 4.3 aosp launcher cause new launcher that comes with pa looks kind of stretched and weird and there isn't an option to make it look like stock (in terms of grids, margins, shadow on bottom and top). I use PA because it's more original than any rom out there, it has its own features, not just ports from cm. Also I Love halo, for me it's one of the best features, original, useful and refreshing, and I like having stuff like that on my n4
N4, PA+Faux
Phone UI with PIE. Lovin it!

Exactly my thoughts. love the PA rom
TabletUI with Halo and sometimes Pie. Always use Nova Launcher as it's highly customisable. I usually use Pie if I'm gaming so I have the full screen available.

As i am abit bored about my phones layout i made this "preview" of icons which i could make. Just want to get feedback for now, made a preview so you can see how it would look like. I will also write a short guide on how to get this done with ADW launcher and Desktop visualizer (both free apps on market)
here is the preview:

I'm not a big fan of this style but I really like the way your's is set up and willing to change my mind about this style. I hope you release it. great job.
It's basically what I'm using now. I would be willing to use your tiles.

I started working on a complete wp7 theme with themed ADW launcher aswell. I will theme the notification bar also but this needs to be done for each phone and firmware separately so i wont be able to share it.
Nice one! Couldn't you do it like the zune launcher and have the tiles scroll down the homescreen. That would be cool but i just realized it wouldn't be possible as an adw theme

hm i dont know, i couldn't find a way to fit 2 2x2 icons + an aditional icon. I know it has a 5 row option but it doesn't work. In adw i got this with a 6 row setup, but i played for like 1 min not more. The image is made in photoshop so it's not an actual layout... It can be done tho
Your layout is possible. below is a shot of my homescreen.
Im using launcher pro, desktop visualizer, and tiles that are 250px by 250px,
columns and rows are both set to 10.
Make some tiles and I will try them out. I would suggest either losing the semi-transparent bar at the bottom of the tiles and increasing the text OR increasing the transparent bar in height by almost double and increasing the text. Only reason I say this is because all of the other wp7 theme tiles with actual photos as tiles have the exact same transparent bar at the same height. Basically looks like all the other tiles just squared.

Hm, i took the "design" from the original icons, all was rushed, maybe ill create other types, however atm i am modifiying ADW launcher and have in mind a slyghtly different setup than yours. Smaller tiles with one free row on the right and the menu button centered below.
very nice idea ^~^ But all of those should be the same style like windows phone 7

Really loving this idea. great work! If you are making a theme for ADW Launcher, that would be great plus you should add the icons into that and it would be awesome!

The app's author made a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD5WD-HDagM&feature=player_embedded
EDIT: Looks slow because I think the video was made using the Android Emulator rather than an actual device. Just pointing that out before folks start going "omgitsslowzz"
just purchased and it does seem a lot slower than LP. luckily i was able to return within the 15 minutes.

So far, other than the nifty new animations, app drawer, presets, it looks the same as the free ADW.Launcher which I currently use and my favorite. More than likely I'll buy it, once I finish watching the video.
Differences between ADW.Launcher and ADWLauncher EX
ADWLauncher EX is based on the ADW.Launcher opensource code with a lot of new additions and improvements, like for example:
5 different app drawer styles/behaviors
3D Nexus One like applications drawer
2 different plain vertical applications drawers styles, the “old one” and a new fast and smooth one
2 different Iphone-like horizontal applications drawers, a traditional paginated one and a new one with continuous fling
Different desktop transitions (8 at the moment): new animations while navigating through your desktop screens. Try them all, they’re crazy!!!
New Icons configurations/look and feel: Tweak your desktop icons, change its sizes, add coloured backgrounds, change font size, color, etc!
New fast presets mode: Quickly change the whole desktop configuration by 1 click!
Editable desktop icons for applications, shortcuts and folders!
Lots of code improvements
More, more more to come!!

What if I already have the free ADW.Launcher? Does buying EX mean I have to reset all my options and homescreens, or is there a way to transfer them over?

Probably new shrug. Try backing it up and see if it works.
It worked! but you have to rename the original adw.launcher backup file to the EX backup file.
ADW.Launcher backup files:
adw_launcher.db
adw_settings.xml
Rename both to adw_ex_launcher.db and adw_ex_settings.xml
Course you'll need to readd your widgets though. But most of the settings transfer over.

You need to swipe down on the dock itself. Put an app in that 2nd dock, it'll make it easier.
Hm... LP still seems smoother to me. And LP still doesn't feel as smooth as it does on my N1 or Vibrant... guess I'll have to wait for a gingerbread compatible LP.

HeLauncher2:
Simplicity has a love/hate relationship.
HeLauncher2 is a home replacement for the mobile operating system known as Android. The home application is the center piece to the users entire Android experience. Device manufacturers like to modify the home application to give the user a different feel for their device, to make their specific device stand out against the crowd.
What makes this home replacement different is the dev has gone and ripped apart multiple proprietary home applications from the manufactures and blended them together into one home application that can replicate them all with one button.
Features:
- Based off of AOSP Launcher2 from 2.3.4
- Three custom themes (Gingerbread, Sense 3.0, Touchwiz 4.0, ALL THE REST FROM He1)
- Transition animations for the desktop
- Blocked applications manager
- More new settings picked for Android users by Android users
What's in this version:
- Lots of small bug fixes
- Added screen indicator location preference

a free lite version would be great....
Looks good. Nice to have different choices of looks.
Paid? Wow, that sucks!
I can't buy it, since I don't have a credit card
Wow!! looking good
Looks actually very good! Could compete with the other top launchers if you introduce a lite/free version to allow people to test it out! I know I will!
Not too shabby, liked the first one as well, this adds a few of the badly needed features that were requested, though I'm not sure if its pay worthy vs Helauncher1
Also, needs Xperia style with the folders, and the sense style would look alot smoother with the page notification working like it does in sense... with these I'd feel it was worth my money
It looks very good! I'm going to test it if you add a horizontal app drawer and a smoother scrolling in the Sense style. I'll look here for updates.
looks great and would be interested in trying it, but the 15 minute refund isnt nearly enough to see how a launcher works. A Lite version would definately help
aww , nice, thanks!

I got it last week after porting an unusable ADW launcher. I love it. I have an LG Rev. I use the Samsung style home.
Loving the launcher, I'm using it to add functionality to my Meizu M9 (yes I'm using the Samurai theme).
I just have one request: would it be possible to add an option to hide icon text on the desktop?
Many thanks!
Thanks for the kudos guys.
As for a free/lite verison, you can just use HeLauncher 1 to test it.
I had this prior to getting my DInc 2 for the sense dock. Absolutely beautiful. My only question is, is there any way for you to make the page indicator exactly like sense? Not the dots across the top.
Loving this launcher, just need the new Motoblur with a horizontal app drawer and itll be perfect

Well, since I can change the number of screens, the only thing I think that would make this a perfect launcher for me is the ability to resize widgets and use custom dock icons.
i love this! im using the cloud theme
Very impressive!
I think I found a bug:
- go to Group Management
- long-tap last group (Times)
- select "move down"
- phone not responding anymore, have to reboot.
I'd prefer reordering here would be drag and drop, if possible.
Also, HiLocker keeps the phone awake, wasting battery.
I really love the hi lock screen, BUT:
It has massive battery drain, my phone can't get to sleep and when I look at the battery consumption, the lockscreen takes up like 20%. So I had no choice but to use another lockscreen.
I saw this on the Nexus Forums. Simple, and it works.

This thread was originally posted over on the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 forums (links in my sig), and after a good deal of success on both devices, I decided (with a lot of nudging lol) to post this here in the Nexus 7 forums too. I own a Nexus 7 with PA 3.0 installed, and so I can test everything and so far have had no issues. Also, because of the different screen size of the Nexus 7, I think the icons are a little small. Others who've tried these on their N7 don't seem to mind, so please let me know what you think. If they're too small for your liking, I'll work on making them bigger. I'm ""trying" to keep one APK for each theme to work across all devices.
Many of you are like me and have been looking for 1% battery increments on the amazing Paranoid Android ROM. The devs have been working so hard on making the rest of the ROM great for us that they just haven't had a chance to add battery %. So I've made several themes for just that purpose! I know you can install one of thousands of themes out there that add battery %, but I have always been partial to the stock look of ICS and JB, so my themes will only add battery percent icons, nothing more. They apply via the built-in theme manager, so no flashing required! Just download the theme(s) you want from the attachments below and install/apply like always. Also, please swing by this thread and hit the thanks button on the OP, ATTACK. It's his icon pack that has made most of these (maybe all) possible, given my rather limited photoshop skills. He OK'd the use of the icons, but I'd like to give him "something" back.
I've got 14 themes now.

Each theme of icons can be installed side by side on the same device. This way, if you want to change between different icons, you have the ability to do just that, without uninstalling or reinstalling anything. Also, the battery icons in the screenshot are a little bigger than they are now. I had an issue where the icons were slightly larger than the surrounding icons, but that's fixed. I just need new screenshots..........
Disclaimers/Warnings:
*This is my first attempt at theming, but they have been running perfectly fine on myriad Paranoid Galaxy Nexus', Nexus 4's, and my own Nexus 7 (as well as some other N7's people have installed on) and I have had no actual problems in performance or function reported by anybody in either forum, besides the normal bumps in the road any mod/theme will encounter. However, if for some reason you run into problems (themes won't apply, tablet dies, ROM borked, dragons flying out of the charging port, etc... ), I am not responsible. I will help you however I can, though. I honestly can't think of anything this theme could do to your phone anyway, but you never know.
*MAKE A BACKUP! I know that sounds silly for a theme, but since this is my first try, I suggest you have a backup just in case. So far I've had a good bit of downloads and comments in the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 threads, and I think it's safe to say its stable. Still, make a backup just in case.
*The theme works in all standard UI modes, (phone, phablet, various tablet) but I can't test every configuration out there. If you have issues let me know and I'll see if I can fix it.
*You will most likely get the "This theme is missing assets for your screen size" message, but hit apply anyway. Almost every theme I've ever seen throws this message, but it doesn't affect anything in these themes.
*It should work on each version of PA that comes out, but there is a chance something will change to break it. I'm really not sure. I'll test when each version comes out, until there's no more demand for this theme.
*These are designed for the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, and now Nexus 7, each running Paranoid Android 3.0. However, I've had several reports that they work on other devices and other ROMs, so you're welcome to try it. PA is the only ROM it is being tested on, however.
Thanks for looking, and if anybody has any issues or requests, feel free to let me know!! Any and all feedback is welcomed and encouraged! Enjoy!
