Hello, I have been looking for information is regards if the red colored device. I have been told by one of the distributors in USA that the Red ONE will be sold only in Hong Kong but I have not been able to find any information that confirms that. Does anyone know if this is true?

I think the red version was going to be exclusive to the Verizon model but since Verizon didn't want to carry it they will not be making it. I could be wrong, but I've heard that from a lot of ppl and it makes sense.!

just respond to the link posted above!
BTW all- the HTC Non-Carrier Branded Devices are the ones that have the unlocked Bootloaders-if you have a carrier branded device, it is up to that carrier as to whether or not leave the Bootloader unlocked.
Mine hasn't been deleted from their facebook wall. Been up for 2 days.
I'll be spamming soon.

Why would AT&T lock this phone but not the Skyrocket?

This is like 10th thread saying the same thing, Except AT & T all the variations of HTC Holiday/Raider/ support unlocking the boot loader via htcdev.com.
This has been true for all the recent HTC devices launched at least in Canada and Europe.
htcdev.com does not list HTC Raider as support device but the process works and including me many were able to unlock the boot loader.

IMO our best bet right now is getting evil_devnull a device. At least we could say that we tried. I'm really sick of this "pointing fingers" between htc and att.

Agreed. Besides, many of us won't want to void our warranties by doing it HTC's way anyways.

This was my email:
Thank you for offering to address my concern.
I purchased the HTC Vivid based on public statements by the HTC CEO that all future boot loaders would be unlocked.
The HTC Raider, which is identical to the Vivid but sold outside the USA has an unlocked boot loader, as does the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket on AT&T.
HTC has implied that it is AT&T that is not allowing the vivid boot loader to be unlocked, but that seems rediculous based on the skyrocket's status.
I would like to know:
1. Why the bootloader is locked?
2. Why it is not possible to unlock it?
3. and when this will be remedied?
I want a fair and honest answer on when an unlock will be available, because I have 7 days left to return the Vivid and consider taking my multi-line wireless service to another carrier.
In full disclosure, any response you provide and the details of this exchange will be shared with the xda developer community as several members have also stated their desire to leave HTC and AT&T if this is not resolved.
Thanks

As much as it would help us to get HTC to unlock it, I doubt most of us want to void our warranties.
Like someone said a few posts above, if we can get evil_devnull a device, maybe we'll be in luck.
I bought the Vivid about 7 days ago, I've got 3 weeks left, I don't want to leave it, but will if this issue is not fixed.
Also, maybe if we can get unrevoked or Alpharev (or maybe even both!) to help, that would be great.
^ EXACTLY! Screw HTC, why are we waiting on them? Let's use some of the money from the bounty thread to get the best dev a device, and hopefully they can get the job done. If we can get it done our way, then we can revert back to stock and not lose our warranties.
hello everyone, i am new here and this is going to be my first post.... i live in florida USA and i have a question where i can i buy an unlock HTC ONE and want to know if i buy an international HTC ONE unlock, would it be able to use t-mobile 4g network in the US? or just wi fi?
i really want to have this phone now, i cannot wait any longer to come out in US t-mobile. any suggestion will be appreciate it.
thanks in advance,
Jayr
There are few places that will ship it to US, but none has it in stock. Handtec.co.uk will have first batch April 3rd and Amazon.co.uk will have it April 12th. There is also eXpansys.com but has very bad reviews.
When buying from Europe remember that you will (should) not pay VAT on the device when shipping it to US and you will have 2 years of statutory warranty from the vendor that does not get voided by rooting - this however is sometimes difficult to enforce.
I'm trying to pre-order the One from handtek, but every time I submit the order, it leads me to an empty page with only the text
Code:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function array_merge() in /var/www/html/live/go-psp.co.uk/lib/Zend/Log.php on line 267
Is anyone else getting this with that site?
I shall wait until the second batch of HTC One's have been released to purchase from Handtec just to make sure all the kinks are all ironed out.

I don't believe the HTC One International version is compatible with the US networks. Best bet is to email Handtec and ask them.

Will the international version be sold in USA?

I have the same question. Will the unlocked lte have CDMA & GMS dual capability?
This just seems pure price discrimination to me. You guys in the US are lucky, our HTC One here $750.
Are there any US exporters that the UK guys have used to save some ££?

If the verizon htc one is launching with 4.2.2 shouldn't the red htc one on sprint launch with it and shouldn't we get an update shortly after?
no

We have no way to know for sure. We don't know for sure if the red One is coming to Sprint. We don't know if Verizon is getting the One. If it is, we don't know when. We don't know if North America is getting the 4.2 update. If it is, we don't know when. We don't know if Verizon is causing this delay. We don't know if the carriers have even received and tested the update yet.
All we know is that nobody in North America has a One that is neither black nor silver, or has received the legit 4.2 update. Also, Verizon is the only major carrier so far to not have the One.
But:
If all the rumors are true, then the Verizon exclusive One will debut at the end of the month running 4.2 on Verizon. Then the red One will debut on Sprint and maybe other carriers. The update will be sent to carriers for testing, and we will receive the update 1.5 to 2 months later. But usually rumors aren't true, so...
In our flyer today about the new bogo for the HTC one that starts on the 16th has the red HTC one in it.. I wonder if that means the red HTC one comes out the same day the bogo starts or at least a confirmation we are getting it. I'll take a picture Monday and post it here

Well, no... Because if the red Sprint HTC One comes out with 4.2.2, there would be no reason why the rest of them wouldn't get it. They all contain the exact same hardware. Just because it's red doesn't change the internals. If the red HTC One ships with 4.2.2 on Sprint, you better believe the rest of Sprint's HTC Ones would have the update before it hits the first customer's doorstep.

And where is a BOGO when you need one? Darn!
Another [Q] not in the the Q&A forum.
Why would the red one launch with 4.2.2? If the update has not made it to the carrier and has not been tested by Sprint as people are alleging, there is no reason to believe they would write the system on the device at factory with anything other then 4.1.2

Or you could get any unlocked M8 from ebay and wait a little for an s-off exploit. Then s-off the phone and flash a dev edition ruu when available.
Anyway selling/buying/trading items on xda is forbidden (refer to furum rules)
and btw, there is now a forum for the M8 here
