After unsuccessful flashing CWM I got a bad brick... Can't enter download mode. Screen is always black.
Tried:
1. Volume Down + Power + Home. Result: PC will not detect COM port and screen is black.
2. Volume Up + Power + Home. Reulst: PC will detect Samsung Mobile modem diagnostics serial port. Tried to flash anything(Ona package or split PHONE, PDA, CSC, but it will simply not flash although the timer counter increments.

If VolumeUP+Power+Home is how to enter then yes. But there is nothing on screen and I am not sure how to check if phone is in recovery mode or not.
Also tried USB jig with 300K between 4&5 pins, no download mode...

Like I said, I am not able go to download mode, looks like the boot area is erased.
On the PC where Odin is installed I don't have Kies.

Well you should try to install kies, because it comes with galaxy ace's usb drivers, maybe drivers are the problem! Hope it helps!
Or if you dont have Kies, Install drivers needed for your phone, then connect to your pc, Start Odin and Flash Rom and if you can get to CWM mode with Blue and White text, then just download any rom and flash it, it will solve the prob

flash it by stock recovery... can you?
flash this cwm using stock recovery.
Hey finAndroid, can your phone still detected by Odin
if YES : flash a stock firmware and use stock recovery to flash above sph21 's CWM
if NO : you got a big problem, because bootloader has been wrongly written. In this case, you need professional service to fix
i just flash my mini to have a CWM recovery, but im confuse if i did it correct
i followed the step by step, odin says PASS, and my phone reboot, but my apps aren't, deleted..
when i watched on youtube... flashing galaxy S to havwe CWM, it deleted all his apps... CONFUSED
Use only Odin 4.38, I once tried 4.4x and it just didn't work.

Ok, now after i tried to flash the touch recovery thing, i can't boot into recovery mode and not into the normal android system...
I've flashed over 20 roms, so i'm quite experienced in flashing, and i already read every thread out therse with a similiar variant of this problem
ok, now a discription of the problem: once i try to normally boot it, it first shows the samsung logo, but then after +- 3 seconds, i get a logo with a phone, an exclaimation mark and a pc...
same goes for recovery..
i CAN however enter download mode, but i can't flash anything as this is what ODIN tells me:
Code:
Download Start...

i've waited over 1 hour to see if it went any further without luck though....
I hope anybody knows what i'm talking about and has a fix

u should turn off then press the 3 buttons togrther
Thats exactly what you should do, when stuck during flashing via Odin:
- pull off your battery
- hold down power button till phone switches off
- disconnect USB cable
- insert battery again, restart your computer, switch off antivirus, firewall, any spyware blockers and guards you have.
- enter Download mode in your phone
- plug USB cable to different port
Cheers

Kies is not even installed....any other suggestions??
Make sure the phone is in Download Mode (Power + Home key + Volume Down) not Recovery (Power + Home Key) or RAM DUMP (Power + Home Key + Volume Up)
Also in Odin unselected Protect OPS
Hope this helps

Hey, I really need your help.
Today I tried to install new Custom ROM (MIU or something).
I installed it normaly and rebooted. I didn't watch what the mobile is doing in that moments and when I took a look at it it was turned off.
The problem now is that it doesn't react at all.
I managed to put it in the download modus. Pressing the buttons and turn in the battery then. It connects via USB but it does show nothing on the display.
The next step then was to flash it completely new with ODIN.
But ODIN just stops at setup connection:
Download Start...

<8> StartThread Detected : 0
<1> setup connection...
Once I got the error messages:
<1> --- cannot open the usb serial port. code: 87
and
<1> --- cannot open the usb serial port. code: 2
Can you please please help me get it going!!!
Greetings,
Your Dematik

Hi Dematik!
You can read about similar issues here (unsolved)
or here or this or this
It looks bad, but...
Good luck anyway.
Hey, thanks for your effort.
I think I pressed Volume UP + Home + Power. This is the RAMdump Mode isn't it?
If I'm correct it isn't useful to recover my mobile?
Thank again.

Hello Dematik!
You enter in recovery mode when you press just 2 buttons: Home + Power.
You're welcome.
Good luck.
Well I'd suggest you to try the "POWER + HOME + VOLUME DOWN" combo instead of the one you tried, because they are different. If a yellow "downloading..." appears in the middle of a black screen you are in the right downloading mode that should work with odin, just talking from my experiences
Or If you can open CWM, then just flash another Rom if not Odin is your last choice
If you are getting an error of cannot connect to the serial port, reinstall the drivers and flash via Odin.
Press that damn thanks button even if I didn't help you. I just love to earn more of them
