Bricked Note - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have big problem... I performed upgrade from AOSPA Paranoidandroid RC3 to RC4(Feb 25)-wipe cache, dalvik cache, and flash zip, then reboot. My phone stuck on boot logo with samsung logo, can't enter recovery mode. So I entered download mode, and try to flash stock 4.1.2 rom from odin. It stucks on cache.img... I read somewhere on xda that I must first flash GB 2.3.6 stock rom. So I flash from odin, stuck on factoryfs... after 5min without reaction, I pluged phone from PC and pull the battery out. I can't enter download mode now... only boot screen with samsung logo. When I press download mode combination I can see that phone tray to reboot into download mode, but nothing else happend... There is issue with charging - when I pull power cable, on phone's screen I can see empty battery, but it hangs on battery animation ("running circle" isn't animated...). What else I can do? Phone was working 100% normal before this upgrade from CWM. Is this possible that my battery is empty? And why charging isn't working?

You sure ur phone cant enter into recovery mode?

Thatll allow you to enter downloadmode again.
Goodluck.

I'm sure - I can't enter recovery mode or download mode... I take my phone to service, I hope they can repair it. But I do everything 100% properly... I don't know why it bricked...

Alright guys i have got a galaxy s. Have got some issues with my galaxy basically i have been using rom manager i was running rombie v_2a via rom manager with clock work mod installed then my phone ran out of battery one day. So i picked up the phone plugged in charger and the phone loads with a round circle then the picture of the battery will show up and then the phone turns off. So i left the phone to charge for a while it kept showing a pic of the battery on start up then totally turning off again. So tried recovery and it wont boot into recovery. But it will boot into download and odin detects the phone. Flashed the phone booted me into froyo after flash but as soon as i turn off the phone it does the same thing again round circle picture of battery then off. I can flash the fone and all runs fine as soon as i turn it off i get the reboot problem anyone got any ideas cheers wattsy1612
can anyone help i got no recovery but i have d/l mode the fone will launch only from clean flash it will only boot if auto reboot is ticked in odin with clean flash i had clockwork but ssems the phone stopped booting evertime power is lost
Still cant reboot my phone totally screwed it will reboot if i tick auto reboot in odin after flashing from download mode but if i simply turn it off it just wont boot it just goes too white loading circle and shows a picture of the battery and then just powers off i cant enter recovery anymore either only download mode can any one help me out pls guys
That icon means kernel is screwed. See if u can flash eclair jm8 using pit 512 as its a known good state to start with. Also its the recommened rom to use before flash to froyos

icky boo have tried what you said and still the same mate no recovery and no start up like i say if auto reboot in odin is ticked the phone will boot any ideas mate
That's how I updated and recover when ever a kernel update fails. Maybe your phone is actually screwed. Can you enter recovery mode? Using vol up instead of vol down. If you can means your bootloader still works.

Also there seems to be a lot of problems with Canadian i9000m phones with internal memory dying. Uf you have one of them that maybe the reason

[i9000m] Galaxy S not starting, no download, no recovery, help!

helped a friend out about 4 months ago by flashing kg3 onto his galaxy s after it would crash repeatedly saying 'internal process (android system) error, must forceclose' and after that it worked fine,
but yesterday he said it won't boot up, won't go into download or recovery, the only screen interaction he can get is when it's plugged in it will say battery 100% charged,
when i plugged it into keys the computer beeped then said 'keys 2.0 doesn't recognize this phone' .... help please?!
Have you tried removing and re-inserting the battery? At times after doing that you are atleast able to get into the download mode.
you wil have to re install firmware
Ya I have tried that, still no download mode, and I obviously know I have to reinstall firmware but how could I do that with no download mode

just double check. if you used to be able to get download mode then you shoud be able to get in it again. sgs are fairly hard to break. try removing the battery at full charge and leave all cables out when you do remove it . do the button combo and you should be good. after that happy flashing

Galaxy S + 9001 stuck in bootloop - can't flash with Odin

Hi.
I have a Galaxy S+ I9001. I had cranyum rom installed on it. One day it just restarted and after it got stuck in bootloop.
It onlyshows SAMSUNG logo, and then restarts and so on...
I can't get into recovery using 3 button combo, but I can get into download mode.
The problem is that it appears to write ok with Odin Multi downloader 4.43, but when it gets to the reboot part, the phone just power off and gets to the same bootloop. If I disconnect the usb cable, it shows a vertical battery icon, then black screen, again battery icon, and so on... Tryed with a different battery witch was charged to 100% before flashing because I tought that it was running low on battery, but the result was the same.
Tryed many different firmware and same behavior.
Is it possible to be a hardware problem?
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
try to flash clockworkmod then flash anther rom >>>> it worked for me in same issue like you have !
---------- Post added at 12:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:31 AM ----------
or try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001#Boot-loop
It does't matter what I try to fash to the phone via Odin. It says thet the flash was successful, and goes to the same bootloop.
Tryed flashing different roms, feamod recovery, clockworkmod, bootloader. Nothing changes.
So flash full rom wit pit and then root it again then do what ever u like

The problem is that it's a Galaxy S Plus - I9001. I can't flash it with PIT file. That's only for Galaxy S - I9000.
Does the pit file works for Galaxy S+ also? All that I found with pit file was for Galaxy S.
I can flash mine with AriesOPS, but that doesn't do the trick. Same bootloop after flashing.

First remove battery and press power for a min, remove sim card and ext SD card and than reinsert battery and go into download mode Download the CWM 6.0 recovery, link on My Android Collections below and try to get recovery First, than go into recovery , In recovery WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition + format /system) enter advanced and wipe dalvik cache too than flash the ROM
I allready tried to do that. It flashes ok with odin multi downloader 4.43, but when it goes to restart, the phone gets back in the loop, and I can't get it to recovery via vol up+power (with or without usb connected). It just gets to the same boot loop in witch displays just the SAMSUNG logo for about one second, the restarts, and so on.

Don't let it restart after flash by unticking auto reboot and than pull out battery after flash, reinsert battery and use combo key to enter recovery
Still no luck. Same behavior. Nothing changed.

ok, try switch to this flasher and do a wipe at the same time http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574149
Unfortunately, from what I have read, that flasher is used with the phone started and connected to the pc in debugging mode.
I've just tryed anyway. Nothing to lose
Nothing changed.
I really believe that it's a hardware problem.
So, any other ideeas? Or it's really bricked?

No, its not bricked, the solution may lie in the technique , have you tried these http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660596 , :victory:BUT First it may wise IF used another PC or Lap top, just to be sure and also download a Broodplank ROM to flash
What is a broodplank ROM?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
The problem it's that in the link that you provided, I must have access to recovery witch I do not have.
Or to use ADB, witch is possible if the phone goes after the Samsung logo at startup, but mine restarts exactly after the logo without going further.

Broodplank is the developer of BroodROM, just look at the signature of the link I gave you earlier for his ROM's

Umm.. correct me if I'm wrong here, wasn't that a 2 button combo in I9001? I have personally flashed my friends I9001 and it was, like [vol+, power on]?
You are right is two buttons combo.
It's just an expression.
But it does not work anyway.

Have you tried holding the button combo a little longer? Don't get this the wrong way, from my experience I know that getting to recovery on i9001 can be a little pain in the a$$ and I really don't know why. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

[Q] How could I repair this?

Hello people, I'm new to this forum as a friend gave me a Galaxy i9003 for repair but I'm unable to get it working. I've tried to reflash but although it seems to do it then it's always stuck on bootloop. I can get into download mode so I think it's something ain't doing right, so I need your help.
These attached pictures show some errors with internal memory when I get into recovery.
Hey there,
Take a look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2149455
In the first post, download the dbadata.rfs.tar file.
Turn the phone off, reboot it into Download mode (vol down + home + power), connect it to Odin.
Put dbsdata.rfs.tar under PDA, don't touch anything else, just let it flash.
Cheers

Odd... I don't see why that happened, being on an I9003 shoudn't make any difference...
Try take out the battery and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. It seems to work for some people (or variations of this method).
Or just keep trying to boot into download mode- it has worked for me once before, download mode suddenly working again after getting that symbol.
Worst comes to worst, it requires a USB jig, but there have been cases (including my own) where download mode has been recovered without needing a jig.
Did the error in Odin happen instantly? (you did everything correctly, judging by your screencap)

Please check i9003 for your phone as SGS 1 and 2 software may not be suited for your device just to be on the safe side
Got it into download mode using this method. Then flashed I9003XXKPE package but it's still bootlooping and recovery says that /data can't be formatted. I've seen this method that could solve this situation, but I would like to try to recover data partition before.
read carefully, choose, download urs n flash it, all there

Which method did you use to flash it?
Is your battery loaded?
First you need to check if your battery is charged. If you have a friend with s3 mini try to charge your battery in his phone.
If the battery is charged, the phone should boot. The recovery doesn't affect the boot partition. If the phone doesn't boot you probably wrote something not ok in the boot partition. In this case only a JTAG can fix your phone.
When you flash the recovery from Odin the file you want to flash should be in the PDA box. If you put the recovery in the bootloader box, the recovery file will overwrite the bootloader and your phone won't boot any more. Odin doesn't test if the file is ok for that partition. This is called a hardbrick.
If you didn't touch the bootloader partition, the phone should boot and you should be able to get it into download mode at least. I don't think there is anything you can put in the PDA box to make your phone not boot.
Try flash the stock rom again, use odin it should work even if you're phone is off, remember you had to previously installed samsung kies on your pc/laptop so you're computer recognized your phone (that's simply basic)... I've seen the tys0n dude knows a lot too he's helped other guys good luck pal.
