BTW The main question is why they used 1.7 clock speed while it supports up to 1.9ghz and can i overclock it to 1.9? i mean does it damage the phone?
AW: CPU Performance
Yes, but you will need a Kernel that supports OC. It wont damage your 1.

It means they found 1.7Ghz a good compromise to keep heat down and improve battery life. If you want to shorten your battery life and make your phone hotter then sure, there'll be options to overclock it. It's still basically the fastest mobile SoC in existence so no idea why anyone would *need* to do this

I would bet for a 12mp cam, sdcard slot & 1.9ghz clock for the HTC One+.
But I would bet that it won't come. I think they resetted their naming convention and decided to make it HTC One, HTC Two, HTC Three etc. Just like android wouldn't make sense if they release 5.0 just months after 4.0

Yeah that was a bummer. Bought one X and they came up with one X+ in a few months with slighlty higher price which i would gone for.
They've already stated that those days are over. The ONE will be their only flagship, premium device this year. They are planning 2 other lower end devices though.

In case of gaming NO . But HTC SXL looks better and in my opinion ,it has more support on both sides that is HTC and XDA. The screen is very good especially outside.

Well it depends on what do you do most with your phone. If it's for gaming than no. But if it for Listening to Music or Camera stuff, than absolutely. And the SXL has Sense UI which is really amazing
Dude if someone is offering you a SXL for your play DO IT not only is it worth 3 times more:
Xperia Play = £140
SXL = £430
But specs wise it pwns it too

Don't let the hype fool you, unless you intend to spend your life playing emulators, the play is not that good at gaming, unless your 10 years old, and have tiny hands lol
The sensation xl is one of the smoothest and snappiest android device that i have used in terms of ui and browser. Its doing fine as a gaming device for me too. Some games wont install from market but theres a way to get around that. I played shadowgun, riptide gp and fruit ninja on it fine. But the main strength on the device are browser, screen and battery life.

i'd go with the Galaxy nexus, for a number of reason.
1) Dual core (Although the SXL proved a single core still has it)
2) Much higher screen res, The nexus has a 720×1280 screen res compared to the 400x800 of the SXL.
3) Finally being the official google developers phone, the galaxy nexus will be first for OS updates. And will receive "Jelly Bean" before any other device

Tegra 3 ....no thanks
Theres nothing that needs a quadcore on your phone. I was thinking of upgrading from my sensation xl to a one x previously but trying one in store i changed my mind. The one x with tegra3 is full of bugs and glitches. Surprisingly it does not feel any faster or smoother at all in general use. the browser and multi tasking is much better on the sensation xl. Then theres the issue of battery life. On the SXL i can get through the day with pretty heavy usage of 4-5 hrs screen on time on 3g and 6-7 hrs on wifi. The one x is getting typically 2-3 hrs screen on time on wifi. If you can get the SXL at a good price go for it.

the One S is still a beafy phone. 1.5Gig dual core snapdragon & adreno 225 (The SXL has adreno 205 like the xperia play, adreno 225 is 2 generations ahead)

The snapdragon s4 is great. But unfortunately the pentilated Samoled screen can be a downgrade depending on usage. Its the same display on the Razr and frankly its terrible for web use. The one s despite its super efficient cpu offers over 1hr less web browsing time than the sensation xl due to the amoled display. Htc continues to do thing halfway offering the best soc then mate it with a crappy display. Offering the best display then mate it with a problematic Soc.
Gonna see what the s3 is like and if not get the one s. Thanks guys

WHY you both are making Off-topic and just don't answer a question?
Maybe it would be possible to make a theme, but I think the design is too much 2.2/2.3 for a 4.0 phone!
OT: I don't like the one x. The support will be bad and the new tegra games don't run fast enough on it. And I read in a few reviews, that the one x is sometimes a bit laggy because of late deactivation of the suspend core...
ONE X is like the O2X, HTC rushed it so that they'll be the first quadcore phone that is why the software is having lots of issues , and sense 4 is slow(reading reports from the one X users at XDA).
One s is the way to go! (':

yes. i think it still uses a 42mn processor, combined with 4 cores. no full day use for most people D:
anyone hear about he Meizu MX? been reading about it, pricing is very attractive, new quad core A9 from samsung, 1.5gig, 1gig of ram. screen is right about the iphone 4s with 291ppi (dont quote my specs as i dont remember them all).
I'm thinking about it as an alternative, with pricing for the 32gig at around 425usd it's alot more attractive than the htc one x (priced above 550usd) and probably the SGS3 (when i comes out) will be priced similiar to HTC one x.
only issue is its only sold in china

Sorry, but how is that so? What is your definition of an OS not being "optimized" for multiple cores? Based on my limited knowledge, kernels take control of the activation and deactivation of the cores, and the apps themself are the ones that are supposed to "take advantage" of the cores.
How is an OS supposed be "optimized" for a quad core CPU?

That is up there with some of the stupidest things iv ever read.
I think the Android ecosystem is so complex that occasional lags are bound to happen even if we reach a point of using 8 cores on a smartphone. (And that, is why iOS is so smooth with slower hardware. It's a simpler OS.)
But the Tegra3 pretty much leaves everyone in the dust when it comes to games.

The international version of the HTC One X with Tegra 3 has already gotten its full sources released a while ago.
At least it seems Nvidia isn't as unsupportive as we think they are. LG, apparently, is the one that is holding back from releasing sources for us.

now i am goign to enjoy my Quad Core phone again okay?
What is the point of this thread? As for desktop PC's, more cores = better (most of the time). Since dual cores work just fine in both GB and ICS the same goes for quad cores. And NO, quad cores don't mean less battery duration.
Maybe he is just jeaulous but i dont think a phone needs quad core. For web browsing and watching videos (well.. lol tegra 2 ) some gameing. dual core is more than enough. As i mentiond some time ago in other thread this reminds me of megapixel hunt in compact digital cameras market.

It can still last for 2-3 years, you just wont be able to multitask when playing games so much in the future.
quadcores will be **** if they dont have that 5th core for when there isnt much going on or they will chew through battery.
The new huwai something has its own quadcore and it smashes all cuurent quad cores in benchmarks, tegra 3 the exenos ect. But if it doesnt have that 5th core it will probably be bad. Its said to come with a 2300mah battery.

Yes it is able. The camera is fantastic on it. I'm blown away when I go to bars and parties how good it is. I was highly suspicious that it was only 4MP at first, and nearly didn't get it, but it's been better than any phone camera I've ever used so far. It's even great for Youtube vlogging.

Right now honestly HMP seems a bit far-fetched. Most app developers don't even use more than 1 thread for their apps. Waste of battery imo.

The point of HMP is load balancing between the cores. It still has advantages even in low threaded apps. The cores are powered off when not doing anything.

It depends on nothing specifically. If load is sufficiently high and threaded it'll use all 8.
I think Antutu is finishing the tests slower than the Snapdragon because it's dispatching twice the threads and doing twice the work, it would score higher if it actually didn't do that.
And no I'm not getting it, the S5 will be outdated in a few months.

I also found that the HMP wherether its running or not, its not so right. Even though its very smooth, but well, its not so different from the 801 version. Also its HOT. I just felt its incompleted

Depends on the thermal throttling settings between the two, Samsung changed the limits several times on both versions of the S4 so expect the same to happen here.

Also how about the headphone sound quality, any differences, if so which sounds better

No, the same for both models really. Sound quality is the same, still Samsung quality. But both have AptX so it wont be a big problem Both external speakers are the same, 1 word: shjt! I wish the speakers werent in the back
