Hey all
I'm happy with my phone, currently running wiui on it
I wanted to hear whats yours longest battery time ?
What ROM and kernel was used ?
Mine personally is for now 17 hours on a normal workday
running on stock 2.2 ... with miui (the last version) I had 6-7 hours :
I am on Django 0.5 with HP RC-11R and i am on 29% presently after 2days 14hrs...with mild to medium usage with little wi-fi, small usage of 3G and voice calls medium.....I am greatly happy....it all depends on how you keep the battery calibrated, system usage, charging cycle pattern and a few more....
It was almost the same with Topo's ROM, Blazing Dragon and also Thanatos 5.1....so it is a bit of care and great magic from our developers....
Hats off all you guys who are making LG O2X such a entertaining and stable device.
medium use (3g on, mail, facebook, twitter, google +, movies, some games, video calls) : 6-7hrs
hard use (wi-fi on, mail, facebook, twitter, google +, movies, lots of games, video calls, messeging, some apps, gps) : 3-3,5 hrs
Stock 2.3.4 20L
with medium use (3g always on or wifi if available; 30 min surfing; few smsing (around 10) and calling (30 minutes); no gps; 30 min gaming) leads to around 24 hours of battery life
I'm really happy with my cm kanged by temasek (#30) and vadonkas kernel (#12.jan)
kind regards

I did not know that Topo was doing CM7Kangs for LG O2X.....does he? can you give me a link?
With low use (some textmessages and 15min gaming, 2g and wifi) i get around 30hours (HP kernel v20o)
I once lasted 4,5days when i travelled to france. I don't know how but the battery life was much better over there. (stock v20b)

hello
Miui 1.12.30 and vadonka's kernel more than 2 days with normal use,
record time is 6 days on vacation, the phone was very rarely used that was on Miui 1.9.x and my UV vorkKernel variant.

Im running 15 hours on latest WIUI ROM
really want more hours.. tired of charging every evening and night
Realistically 15/20 hours is about right for a smartphone nowadays. Unless companies start making phones a bit thicker so larger batteries can go in them.
Unless you really edit the phone, underclocking etc, you wont be able to push more than 1-1/2 days out of the phone.
Can I recommend better battery stats app available either on the market or on xda. Helped me discover a few apps that kept running (partial wakelocks) all the time and therefore affected battery life.

I just envy the iPhone guys... I'm repairing iPhones in my spare-time, and the batteries arent any bigger than ours (1500mAh)
but they last 2-3 days, because of the way better battery management and optimized hardware
But when thats said, I would never leave this open-source world !
just look around, all the ROMs and free stuff we can get, they cant Muhahaha

5 days, only 10 minutes of calls /day, with 3g off
Django 0.5 - FPS 0.3a1 (very smooth after fixing the old 0.3) and with medium use still 45% after 19h26m
With wiui 2.1.6
And LED blinking turned off I get 26 hours battery life! Awesome

My record is 2d 6h with Juice Defender, 3G on, managed by the app. But the lag caused when unlocking the screen is killing me.
ROM is v20m
with cyano 204 stable i do about 20 hours with about 40 messages, 10 minutes of gaming and 10 minutes on wifi and about 5 minutes of internet with 3g
Around 48 hrs. I didn't used it that much that day...:b Stock rom.
4 days with Gueste 2.1, 10min calls, 2G, 30 min wifi, some messages.
Hey guys. I only want to ask which rom do you think is the bettest for battery life.
Thanks.

My suggestion would be stock gingerbread with speedmod kernel k2-12, i used to get around 4 days with normal use.
That sounds nice. Do you have heavy use of yout phone? Or only deep sleep all the time?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I use it for playing games, little music, calls and messaging. Sometimes connect to Wi-fi. With the same in ICS i get around 2 days.
okay thank you i´ll try. :fingers-crossed:
to set expectations straight, expect thought about 4.5 hours nonstop usage on gb with speedmod kernel.
4 hours on ics with speedmod
alk stock dont expect more then 3 to 3.5 hours.
you only get 2 days if you dont synch, barely use phone and are in good reception area with data switched off always.
Note general tips which can be found in the 10000plus threads about battery drain and how to analyse deepsleep issues

I don't know whether you like gingerbread roms or not , but till date the rom with which I got maximum battery backup with modeate to heavy usage was CheckRom Revo HD V6. This rom never lags , best battery life , and good speed .
If you are Gingerbread hater and ICS lover , then you can try Rocketrom v7( very good battery life with the included kernel , and would be much better with Speedmod Kernel (latest version) ). And then you have CleaNote V2.30 ( V3.0 has bluetooth glitches but its faster , if you are bluetooth user i would suggest you to stick with V2.30 ) , I personally love CleaNote because it has stock look and very fluidic :good: and as the tagline says 'You dont want any theme forced down to your throat '. KingDroid are good at speed but many have reported few glitches with it , you may try it if you like ( I dont like KingDroid , its sth personal ). If you hate Samsung's bloatware then we have Cassie's XtraLite rom for your rescue :cyclops:. Its a good rom too .
Well finally to end , I use cyanogenmod 9 and i update it everyday and with each update it gets more fluid and responsive, fast , smooth . i just love cyanogenmod9 ( waiting for cm10 ).
ParanoidAndroid are for ppl who love fun , who want to showoff their phone , the ability of their phone , the sweet hybrid interface of their phone , its for geeks :-0 .
Make a choice or try all of them :good::good:

I am using CLASSIC V1+15 toggle with MOD V1 which is ICS 4.0.4, and I also updated kernel to chainfire LRG, which is more stable and smooth, battery life is excellent comparatively to all other ROMs so far.
Which is around 4% drain per hour, I have (facebook, wechat, LINE, mitalk, whatsapp, email, exchange service, maps, mixed chinese input, make your own clock) running and leaving it on idle.

For the past 2 years of beeing a S galaxy user, I've quite looked for best battery life at top performance. Most of the time, battery life is no longer measured in "days" of usage , like we used to do with our Nokia phones. Nowadays, you ten to look at display (screen on) time , CPU profiles, and also connectivity patterns.
You can think of battery life as a factor of the above mentioned, however I think that display time is the most important parameter related to battery life. CPU profiles, connectivity, tend to work only when you have your screen on, and from my experience, you tend not to extend your usage time by more than 10-20%.
So as a conclusion, I did not expect a specific rom / kernel configuration to offer more "screen on" time but to offer a more faster way to do my tasks therefore I did more tasks in almost the same display time.
At the end of the day, it is more important how you USE your device rather than finding a "magical" combination that will increase your battery life.
KID + SpeedMod
+1 for GB (i was using checkrom but i'm sure any gb rom will give similar effects) with Speedmod.
If you make setcpu to 200mhz on screen off, i find it uses almost no power at all when it's on standby.
Like it was on 77% when i went to bed.
Woke up in the morning and it was on 78% (i was like lolwut).
Yay for setcpu.
But seriously though, any GB rom will give you considerably more battery life than any ics rom.
ROM
The best ROM for a battery-HALF ILLUSION and placed on the scale smartas governor.
Try and tell me your impressions.

I'm not sure that if my phone has a low battery life or others as well . When I go to bed , my phone was at 70% and I wake up after 8 hours of sleep . My phone dropped to 58% . Is that a normal case or should I get a new battery pack ?

i'm using 1800 mugen power battery. it's better on about 20/30 % and you can really see that. so if you want to buy new battery - better buy this one than original. i'm working with it for half of a year n everything is fine.
about your battery - yes, it can go in that way and its normal for our dev.

Mine is about the same as yours, 100% at sleep and 88(at times it's 87 or 86) or so when I wake up. But I think I slept for about 10h
Edit*
Atm it's at 80% and it has been on battery for 13h exactly
im having issue with poor battery life on this device too up to 5hrs ~)
A tip is to disable sweep2wake if you have it enabled. it consumes a lot battery. Since I disabled it yesterday my battery gained a couple of hours battery life.
Using Longevity on CyanVivo X Rom and very impressed with the battery backup, Lasting over 18 Hours with average 3G data use and gaming before it was like 8-10 hours with Juice defender. Don't keep data on all the time otherwise use longevity Worth a try!

Imo it's just placebo effect. I actually think that they waste battery than save.
About battery saving apps:
Some might help save some of your battery, like Juice Defender, but about 100% of the stuff that an app does is something you can do for yourself.
Like dim the screen when you don't need 100% brightness, turn off data and use only GSM when you don't need to use data (and if 3G has better reception it might be worth staying on 3G though, at least in my world a better reception would mean a little bit better battery than if you changed to the network mode with worse reception) and when you don't need WiFi - you turn it off.
Using apps to kill other services and apps are not a good idea either, since some apps will only restart and restart and restart while the task killer will keep killing = both apps will drain your battery.
And by turning off both WiFi and data and the apps are well designed, they should not try to look for updates and such if there are no available internet connections.
And, by undervolting you gain more than using different apps and such and if you then learn how to set up your device in the best way for battery you will get longer battery life.
If I don't use my phone so often, I can get about 2 days with 3G/GSM + WiFi turned on all the time and mobile data connection turned on all the time. If I use it a lot I still get long enough battery time to make a full day, usually I need to charge my phone every 18-24 hours when I use it to check mail, send some texts and read news (and XDA, as the addicted person I am).
Now, I just hope that I haven't f*cked anything up - I'm just too lazy to read it through.

I bought myself a Nexus 7 about a month ago to satisfy the cravings for that Jellybean goodness. After trying several ICS/JB roms on my IncS over the past year, I decided to revert back to the CM7 Nightlies. Much to my surprise it's almost as if I forgot how blazingly fast Gingerbread was.
Given how i use my IncS on a daily basis, I seem to be averaging around 34-36 hours before it hits below 5%. It really only gets used for calls, texts and wifi tethering to my N7.

I used to average 30% battery drain per day with light use with stock GB rom and kernal, it has upped to approx 50% per day with stock ICS rom, with lOst profit's overclock kernal running at 1400 wake and 368 sleep. ( setcpu )
Not bad considering 40% increase in processor speed, but less than 20% increase in battery usage.
Addy
I tried latest cm7 nightlies and it wasn't smooth at all so I reverted back to jellybean cyan x

keep in mind you have to give it a couple of hours , maybe even a day(depending on how much it has to do and your connection etc) Before the rom settles down after flashing. Then you can give your impression of it if it is laggy or not.
how much your battery last in standby mode?
Guys I have created this thread Coz I'm really confused as I don't remember how much my battery used to last before I was into flashing daily roms...now I'm on temasek 134.5 with Stephan kernel..and my battery drains almost 8-10% per hour without data,, wifi on and also 2g mode.baseband and ril matching...also I smart flashed calibrated underclock and undervolt and still no success and the best part is I recently bought brand new authentic lg battery from lg showroom I searched almost all forums deleted Google backup transport.apk also as in some forum it was mentioned tried all roms and all kernels the drain pattern is almost similar..kindly help guys..

Ohhh my God 2 days and 4 hours which version of temasek you using and which vadonka version of kernel? I'm using 135.4 temasek and used latest Etana stock lite kernel
In standby mode with turned on WLAN and on 2G (running Temaseks CM7 Builds, forgot the kernel) I had a battery drain of 1% in 4 hours. The room was pretty cold though! So not a lot of heat for the phone to deal with.

i think that is Temasek 129 or 130 (not quite sure because the settings show 1xx, but i know that every newer rom 131-135 didn't work for me)
kernel is Vadonka's OC (from 07-2012 i think)
btw this 2 day battery life is with processor 216-1100 Mhz setting (not with that 1504 mhz from antutu screen)

It actually did happen and it wasn't a battery reading bug. After a few minutes of usage my battery percentage sunk by 1%. As usual. No clue how that happened but the room was seriously cold (around 2-3 degrees Celsius.) and I haven't touched the phone at all. Also the processor was clocked at 216mhz the entire time.
Unfortunately that was back in June and I have no way to prove it. This did really happen though. I was pretty shocked too when I saw the ridiculously low drain.

Hello everyone,
I wonder how much battery life you have on i9000 with stock battery (1500mHa) on cm 10.1 with semaphore kernel?
Asking, just because I can only get max. 12h of battery life with cm 10.1 20130218 rom and semaphore 2.9.10, smartassv2 and row. Wondering is this normal or my battery needs to be changed. Any suggestions to max battery life on i9000 would be appreciated too

The battery can last between 3hours and a week, depending on how you use your phone, so that's not a good question to ask.
If you feel that the battery is running out too quickly then download betterbatterystats and look for any apps using unusually high partial wakelocks or alarms and get rid of them. It only takes 1 rogue app to screw up your battery life.

I think he knows that.
12 hours uptime is not uncommon, especially when on 3g a lot. On wifi you should be able to get at least 20 h in my experience. If the battery is as old as your phone I suppose its capacity is not what it used to be, and you might consider replacing it with a sgs+ one f.i. - they come cheap nowaways!

That's in your experience, the way you use your phone.
Try playing NFS MW or something. You'll get about 2 hours on a gti9000. It varies far too much to try and tell people how many hours battery life they should be getting. Totally depends.

I use my phone for 3h wifi browsing, 30 min. music and 30 min gaming, but nothing intense. And with this usage I get 12h battery life. Flashed 2.3.5 stock rom. Still getting 18h max. So I think this comes to conclusion that my battery is old enough. That's why I asked for the battery life you get, because I didnt knew this is usual or not
My last for 2 days more or less depending on usage.

Guys i think its wrong to measure the battery life with how long your phone is working. i personally look at the screen on time it says more than just how long our device is working. I get always stats around 3h its unimportant if my Phone works 6h or 18h.
