Does anyone know why sometimes when I come back to my phone, the backlight is on, but the screen is dark;ie displaying black pixels and therefore draining my battery. I haven't isolated possible reasons, but missed calls might be one. Highly annoying.

Same problem, uninstalled "screen off and lock " end never get the problem again but I'm not sure that screen off was the problem.
Hm, I don't have that app installed. It may be popular notifications from what's app...

Happened to me once as well because of Google Talk notification. Pretty sure that's a software bug that'll get resolved in 4.2
Mine does this too. Thought it was whilst charging but seems to be random.

I've been having this problem for awhile now.
Where the left part of my screen would become unresponsive in any app. Usually lock screen and back on would solve it, or just a rotate screen.
But I was wondering if anyone has the problem as well?

I had this problem a few months ago, i was told that the touchpad had a hardware problem, they gave me a replacement phone.
Mmm so it's a hardware issue?
I think it's too late for me to get a replacement now lol

Are you on ics?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Yes, but it happen before on gingerbread too
I am not so sure that it's hardware, if I rotate the screen and click on that are part of the screen which was unresponsive before it would work.

Does anyone else have this problem? It happening on and off so it's hard to pin down what is causing this.

Tell Google: "I'm not even mad, I'm impressed!"
That is horrible man... Our screen flicker is just like seeing your brightness go from 5% to 4‰ 10 times in a second. A florescent light flickering. Some have it worse than others.
Are you guys using automatic brightness? I've never seen a tablet do that well. Turn it off and see if it gets better.
That is, unless by "akward" screen issue" you meant your spelling of "awkward"...

While in my new Roocase "smart" case, my touch screen doesn't like to completely register my touches around the lower corners of the screen! Very annoying while trying to play games.
Hmmm. I have the same case but haven't noticed this yet.
Mind sharing the name of that app you are using to detect the touches? I will install and try.

I used "Multitouch Visible Test" by Battery Powered Games, LLC

Wow, thank you for the detailed reply!
I found another thread about the touchscreen in general: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789450&page=11
They have similiar issues, and seem to be concluding grounding issues/ I wonder if the thread on this case is conductive.
Also saw several other YouTube videos by others, showing the same thing. One guy showed that by putting the tablet directly on his lap against his legs, the problem stopped.
Weird!

Hey guys... I have my volume all the way up on the gear and notice my phone beeps at midnight the last few nights. It has been on the charger each time and I originally thought it was done charging and that's why it beeped. However, it doesn't seem to be the case. I have hourly notification off on the clock and don't know what setting I have that sets it off at midnight. I have not noticed it at any other time. Anyone experience this or know what it is?

I get a buzz at 12pm also. Usually asleep by 12am but probably then too.
Not sure how this got turned on or how to turn it off.
Ummm... Haven't noticed at noon but will see today.

I think the question here is why?? Why did they set an annoying beep to go off at midnight?

I only get it at midnight and not hourly like one of the settings... I actually think I figured it out. It must be my Calander. If I have an all day event, I assume it goes off at midnight since that is the next day. I have nothing in my calendar tomorrow so I will see if it goes off again tonight. If it does, I have no clue what's setting it off.

Looks like it was my Calander... No beeps tonight at midnight.

I have my watch set to vibrate, and I keep getting a quick vibration at noon every day. The display doesn't come on, I don't have anything on my calendar @ noon, and I don't have hourly notifications turned on. Could be happening at midnight too, don't know, I'm generally in bed.

Yeah mine was doing that too. I think if you have an all day event scheduled on your calendar, it beeps/vibrates at midnight.
Hey guys. My screen remains dark and locked while phone calls are coming through. The phone rings, but I have to unlock it to see whom is calling. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
That's not normal, you most likely have a application or toggled something on to prevent your screen from turning on

I don't think so. I've discovered the issue is not just limited to my device. On the Nexus forums people are having the same issues. This doesn't happen 100% of the time either.
