So if I'm in gmail, facebook, google services, and other (white background apps) i see a yellow spot on the center->bottom of the screen. The wierd thing is that if I make a screen shoot..I see it also on the picture!
if in the first picture you dont see what exactly I mean..in the second one you'll see the area where is that yelllow spot(big).
What could it be and how can i repair it ?
If I'm correct, it looks like finger press impression on lcd screen.
Btw did you drop your phone recently?
You could try repairing your phone through pc companion., though I doubt it'll work.
Final option would be taking it to sony service centre.

Both of these explanations dont explain why it appears on the screen shot though.
The screen shot should be of the screen as it should appear and not take into account a screen protector or damage to the screen.
If I am not mistaken a SS shot does not take a picture of the screen, it just records in memory what the screen should be showing so a damaged screen will not show on a SS.
Anyway apart from that I am unsure on further causes.

Point! The SS should not be affected by physical alterations.
If software-wise I think it might have something to do with color balance or contrast ratio.
and how can I resolve this software issue ?
the contrast issue ? because for example if I go from a dark screen to a white one...i have to wait like 1-2 seconds until the contrats it's OK! :-s

Hi,
I notice that when I touch the screen I see strange colors- like rainbow bubbles under the screen.
Is it normal or not? if you touch your screen, do you also see like rainbow distortions on it - like oil spots? (newton rings)
Do you suggest me to ignore it or take it to LG and ask them to replace/fix it?(my phone is 7 months old)
that is a normal thing, but you shouldn't be pressing like that the screen :/
it's Liquid Cristal Display = LCD so it is normal to see those colors when screen is pressed, but stop pushing it XD you can damage the screen

Lol, thanks for the information, I thought this way but wasn't sure.
but what if I also see those strange colors even when I press not very strong on the screen but normal+ ? Should I take my phone to repair? (it's free for me, lol)
I think so, it might be a defective LCD, and if its free you should do it... I mean it's somehow normal [because of the liquid cristal] but if that happens whit normal pressure then is not that normal...
Maybe the gorilla glass (the one you touch, not the LCD) is softer/looser than normal and not rigid enough... I noticed a softer/thinner Gorilla Glass on the Black than other devices.. Quite annoying sometimes, it makes the device feel fragile or cheap XD

Did someone also notice that when applying little pressure to the screen, like an oil spot appears and in some spots the screen feels flexible when touching it a bit stronger?
It looks like this: (It happens only when I touch the screen a bit stronger than normal)

Mm it does happen but not that large and when it happens it gets back to normal quite instantly.. Could be a counterfeit OB lol... I always knew that the Gorilla Glass was not normal on OBs.. you should go to an LG service or somwthing like this to get it checked.. It shouldn't be like that, at least wheb applying a small pressure

Ok, thanks for replying, now I know that my OB is not the only one with this defect.
I already sent my OB to repair when it had other problems in the screen and they didn't replace it with a new OB
now I'm going to send it again to my Cell provider and I'll ask them to replace my defective OB under LG's manufacturer Warranty.
Any ideas how to convince them to replace my defective OB with a new one and not only replace the digitizer or lcd screen?

Hi,
I found the specific name of this phenomenon: newton rings
there are many threads in XDA about this phenomenon but no one about OB.
It appears only when I touch the screen, (maybe it's because I always keep my phone in the pocket.)
It looks like that:
Is my LG Optimus Black defective or it's normal?

This is only what I think, but to be honest I feel that's not normal, I mean even if I press really hard my phone's screen it doesn't look like that not even close to that, I think you should send it to techs
The other day I was sitting in front of my computer with my One beside me. I checked my phone, turned the screen off and tried to put it away.
In the putting away process, the lighted computer monitor was reflected on my One's screen (which was off and black then), and I noticed horizon stripes on the One's screen.
I put some pictures below to help you guys understand how I got it, though the stripes are not that easy to be caught with my iPad. But you should be able to identify the stripes if you check out the silver part of the reflection.
(Damn, the pictures are upside down)
It is more like a manufacturing process rather than an issue, and the stripes are totally invisible when I use the phone, they are even barely visible under sun lights while the screen is off, however, pretty easy to notice in front of my LCD monitor though.
Again, it is totally no issue for me (and for anybody else I think, because I do not seem to find a thread about this on XDA or Google). I love my One, it is gorgeous and a piece of art. :victory:
I create this thread just to see if anybody else had ever noticed these stripes, or if I am the only "lucky" guy.
FYI, mine is US 32G unlocked model

It's the digitiser, I'm not sure what's bad about it.
There's nothing bad about it. It's normal. On the Xperia Z it is a Grid of dots that are easily visible in light even while the screen is on. Neither phone is broken, and you can't see it on the One unless you really look close on an extremely silly angle.

Well there's at least 3 of these threads actually lol. And yes it's the digitizer. Every phone will have this to some degree but they don't all have the same pattern. Maybe you'll hate me after I tell you this but you can see them very faintly when the screen is on with a pure white background That's what the other threads were about. Not a big deal at all though (you and most didn't even notice them did you? )

Hey there,
I just noticed that on my 2 day old HTC One (FA35FW9#####, HTC_E11) has strange horizontal line on the screen. Even when it's turned off. It's visible on dark colours (black) when the screen is on. It's annoying. I tried to take a picture of it, but i don't have a lens that will focus on it. It looks like a solar panel of sorts.
Am I the only one that has this weird hardware issue, or is it well known?
regards,
X

Mine definitely has this, I didn't notice it until today outside in the sun. I don't see it at all when the screen is on though.
Hi,
I also see this on my HTC One grid when the display is lit on a black background and there is sun. Is it normal, everyone does it ? Or is it a fault and should it change ?
It's on mine as well...can see it under a very bright light...but not normal conditions...... Think it's the digitizer !???

It is the digitizer by BTW...

Hi,
Thank you for your answers. So what is normal ?
Because I saw two other HTC One grid and it was much less visible than on mine, we only see screen off when the mine can be seen when the screen is turned on if the sun on the screen.
Do you think he should return it under warranty ?

Apparently the screens made by sharp have more visible lines than the ones made by JDI, but there's no way to know which is which without running an app to retrieve the information (or maybe viewing the screen under sunlight ). I can see the lines on mine but since I don't look at the screen when it's off I don't really care about them. You'll never find one where the digitizer is invisible, and buying a One is gambling on getting a good one vs build quality issues, so if that's all that's wrong I'd just hold on to it if I were you.

Horizontal lines approx 2mm apart are visible on mine too when screen is off...Noticed after 3 days i got it and was not sure if m i the only one who got it, untill i found this thread. I dont mind those lines if they are there, but it doesn't call for alarm right??

I've had this on two HTC Ones, so I think its normal. I also found that its only really visible when the screen is off.

Also if am right there is same question and discussion about that.

Just the digitiser in the screen. It is visible on all HTC Ones but, as said previously, a little easier to see on the Sharp panels.
Nothing to worry about.

Yeah i just noticed mine today when i was outside in the sun... :/
I just noticed this on my way to work this morning, now I can see it almost all the time whenever the screen is off or has a dark backround, for example I see it with the phone laying flat on my desk directly in front of me, what I would consider a normal viewing angle with the screen off or on with a dark background.
my phone is only 11 days old should I contact my carrier regarding this??, its kind of annoying.

No, it's normal and not annoying. You shouldn't be able to see it if you're looking directly at the phone.

Thanks for the reply, it does bug me a bit like but I guess I could live with it.
It is quite easily noticible from slight angles but not if I am looking at phone straight on. I have a couple of friends with the same phone, I will check theirs to see how visible it is on their handsets.
Want to get even more irritated with it? Pull up a white background, like in the text message app, stare really intensely at it, and you can see the lines very faintly and what appears to be a texture similar to cloth, not a smooth-like-paint texture that would be ideal.
Once you notice it, you'll always see it. Lol. Have a nice day!

Hello fellow Xperia T users..
I have a slight problem.
I have a small smear mark inside my screen...on my Sony Xperia T. It can only be seen in light or white backgrounds...
My phone is second hand, so god knows what the previous user has done to it..
I do not want to send it to Sony for repair due to costs.
So hence I'm asking if anyone can advice.
If I do a screenshot of the screen..the mark is not produced in the picture.
I have checked by taking off the screen protector and cleaning the screen, but the mark is still there...

If it is a dead pixel it would just show up as a small point of light when you first turn on the tablet. It would also more than likely not be noticeable when Android loads. Dead pixels cannot be repaired. You would have to either send your tablet back to Asus to get the LCD replaced, or if you just purchased the tablet, contact the retailer to see if you can exchange it.

The first one:
- I've carried the tablet in my bag and there was pressure in the center of the screen. When i taked out the tablet there was a circle in the center of the screen about like you. After that the circle began to slowly smaller and smaller, until it disappear.
The second One:
- My 1st tablet got a yellowish spot when it was brand new. on white background i was able to clearly see it. I realized that the screen toched the back on this point. If i pushed a litte bit on the glass at this place, the lcd became fuzzy.
So bad quality issue Asus...
