Can't control my screen's brightness

Hello everybody,
The problem is the brightness of my screen. It is usually at the minimum brightness(or even lower than that because I can't see anything under sun) and I can't change it. Sometimes it is a bit brighter when I restart and sometimes I can control it as it should be. It does not change anything when I change the brightness settings. I tried other firmwares from
http://luivit.altervista.org/firmwareP970/index.php
but did not work still the same!
Help please guys...
Do a hard reset if not already done
I tried but did not work... Any other advice?

what do you mean about "can't change it" ?
can't find the menu ? option is blocked ? change is possible but no result ?...
Does the automatic brightness setting work? Be it optimized or power saving mode.... I mean try putting your device under light and dark alternatively.. if your brightness doesn't change automatically then problem could be with your light sensor!
Then It's a hardware problem not software one.. and no attempt of flashing any Rom can help you with that. If your device is within warranty, then just flash any basic Rom without rooting it and visit a LG service station!

Anyone got the Light Sensor working on the JB?

Mine is TL and flashed the UK generic JB firmware via Flashtool. The JB upgrade is great, however recently, because the strong sunlight on Texas, I noticed that the light sensor was no longer working. I've tried to erase the data, reset, and reflash. None of those made the light sensor working. Is everyone got their light sensor working on the JB so that's only TL's problem or it's actually not working on the JB?

Haven't tried the stock JB rom, but with AOKP-Kangxperia, which is JB based, the light sensor is working fine.

it's not about the JB version...but the stock one. I think it might be some kind of bug...
in the service test, the light sensor remain 0 not matter how strong the light went.

the ALS shows a 0 when checked under the service tests, but the screen does change brightness depending on light conditions.
My Xperia T light sensor stopped working as well after JB update.

I have some issues also, brightness is set to auto but when entering from sun light into the buildings where the light is low, the screen remains at full brightness and the sensor is working ok only after i'm locking the screen once.
ALS sensor works, differently from ICS, but works. It takes more time, decreasing the backlight when coming to low light conditions and sometimes it takes more time, increasing the backlight in high light conditions after waking the screen. This could be a little faster.
And I suggest disabling DLS, it's annoying and I see no benefit from using it.

This describes the behavior I had on my TL with ftf's from UK or CE. If it doesn't happen right away, it's just a matter of a short time (less than a couple days) until it begins. Once it starts, the behavior doesn't go away.

I had exactly the same problem. Dealt with it by wiping /system, /cache, /data partitions in recovery, booting the phone (of course it stopped on Sony logo) and then flashing JB again. But I'm not sure you could do this on TL. I think you will lose LTE then.

I've used: LT30p_9.1.A.0.489_1265-1626, Xperia T_9.1.A.0.489_Europe and OTA upgrade from LT30p_7.0.A.3.223_(1267-4649), same issue with all these versions.
All versions were installed with full wipe.
Can some one see if it is only in this ROM? Try another jb rom and confirm. If so then someone can look into it with me.

[Q] Problem with screen rotation (sensor)

Hello,
I have strange issue with my Xperia Z. I used to use many android based phones, so i believe Z's behaviour is incorrect. How it works - i.e. I have my Z laying on the table, when I launch some app supporting screen rotation i.e. browser, mail etc., it automatically rotates to landscape mode. When it's in landscape mode and I am lifting it up (keeping the device in portrait position) it doesn't switch into portrait mode at all or it's very very delayed. I haven't found any calibration settings in the software, so have no idea what I can do in order to let the screen rotate smoothly after physical position change.
Quick update - both orientation sensor in portrait mode and gyroscope are giving wired results. Can it be calibrated somehow?
Any advice appreciated!
Best regards,
MCC
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* there is calibrations.
This is only available in 4.2.2
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
I have 4.1.2 and the menu is there - i could calibrate gyroscope, but accelerometer calibration was unsuccessful - Error Code 1.
Anyhow after calibration of gyroscope result is the same - horizontal orientation sensor is shifted to the right ;( PLS see attached screenshot.
Best regards,
MCC
I just tried it and it's good on my phone,i don't know if it's a hardware issue.
You try another firmware maybe it's a software problem and maybe if you can update to 4.2.2

By any chance the rotate problem appeard when you had asphalt 8 installed? I had this problem for over 2 months and 2 weeks ago I deleted asphalt 8 and that problem dissapeared...I think this games has some error in it that affect some phones

[Q] Ambient light sensor not working :s

Since a while, I've issues with my ambient light sensor : autobrightness sometimes worked, sometimes not.
Now, it doesn't work at all anymore.
I've tested the ambient light sensor via service test, the value remains stucked to 0...
Do you think my light sensor is broken ???

It looks like it's broken. Do you have warrenty? send it for service, don't forget to relock bootloader before you do.
service test always show 0... try AndroSensor from play store and u will see under light that value is changing under bright light

Hum... after reboot, it works again, and I can see the value changing in AndroSensor. But it will fail again, I'm pretty sure... I should try a factory reset to see if it fix the issue.
If you have Xperia T then it's a known issue as in JellyBean the ALS is broken and always shows 0. It fixes itself after the reboot (still showing 0) but it breaks again after a while.

Yes, I've just seen your thread... But I've been using JB for 6 months and this problem only occurs since 1 month. No hope to definetely fix this, even doing a factory reset ?
You are a lucky one, I wish my sensor was working for such a long time...
In my case I tried everything - different ROM and kernel combinations but the ALS was always dead after a couple of minutes. The only solution was to get back to ICS...
