[Q] No 3G connection after firmware update JM7/JM8

H guys need some help. Just update my Galaxy S with both JM7 and then with JM8. I updated from my original Norwegian firmware I9000XWJFB/I9000SWCI9000XEEJG1/I9000XXJF5/I9000XWJFB. Problem is after the update I have only wifi connections. I am unable to get any 3G or Edge or any sort of mobile internet connection. I can still phone out etc. Just no mobile internet. I have tried flashing back to JF5, but I get some russian language and still no 3g. Any help would be appreciated.
I have also added Tayutama_Edition_Voodoo_Full_v1.1. But even without it still no 3G.
Currently : PDA:XWJM8 Phone: I9000XXJM4 CSC: OXAJM1 Not sure what that means.
I am in Norway if anyone knows of a firmware I can downgrade to or use in this region. Did not backup my original firmware.

Sounds like you need to set up your apn.

Google for your network providers APN codes, and then set them in settings.

Thanks guys got it working...reflashed the csc file with xee jm1. It worked. Man was I getting worried.

[Q] Install Roms on european base on asian firmware?

hi i recently tried to install a jpa based rom on my asian SGS running 2.2 and couldn't get a 3g signal. is it due incompatibility? will i have the same problem if i use european roms such as the jpo too?
i read somewhere that i have to manually input the apn to get a 3G signal on asia while on a US fw

European roms does not include the asian APN settings. When you manually enter the apn settings you will be connected to the data..
I guess u are meaning u cannot connect to data network....

yea ok got that sorted out already thanks.
Also can we install jpa based roms on jpo bases?
i already burnt my motherboard once, so need to check before i try again

I have asian sgs.
first i installed jp6 and now jpo.
so it works just remember your anp settings

so will a rom based on another version e,g, jpa work on a jpo firware or even asian firmwares?

[Q] Network Covarage

i have a glaxsy s i9000 and afther unlock the network coverage is very bad . in the city is ok but when i go out side the city the network coverage is not respond and phone show me no servic (i mean 2 or 3 km away from city )and other i9000 in here (unlock factory)dont have this problem .
so any one can help me on this case

what firmware are you using?
Did you try to unlock the network? (I am assuming this is what you mean), or did you root your phone?

i install froyo 2.2.1
and gingerbird 2.3.3
and now its darkys rom V 10.0 RC6 But my network Covarage is not good

Might be the modem you are using or the CSC in the phone .
How long this problem since Froyo ??

XXJW5 exists, but probably it's same as XXJW4 - it can be diffrent only visually, cause XXJW5 is for Czech Vodafone.

Yes, but you should use JW5 only if you are living in Czech Republic and you're using Vodafone operator - otherwise you can have problems with getting signal or you'll have annoying Vodafone logos etc.
I'd recommend you JW4.

There is no XXJW5. It is XWJW5. Initially it was released for vodafone in Czech Republic. Now it is available without any network lock.
So let's download and enjoy the latest one.

[Help] Network issues not modem related :( [Any ideas]

Right so heres myproblem hope someone can help,
Broke external and internal speakers on my s1 by using fm sprint app, then sent it into be repaired (local dealer not Samsung) they repaired it working fine now but since its come back , i can no longer make calls i only get 1 or 2 bars Max signal and only edge no 3g etc. So tried flashing a load of different modems in hoping would help tried from different regions no help. When i go to search for signal manually i can pick up the othr carriers in my country but it says your sim no allowed on this network but jt will not pick up my network.
Tried flashing 2.3.6 value pack csc modem rom etc that didn't help either.
Any ideas on what i can do to perhaps fix this I'm kinda stuck atm.

Network : vodacom

try flashing another ROM or re-flash stock ROM with full wipes etc.just to troubleshoot the issue.
