Italian LSZ vs Germany LSZ battery performance - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi everybody. i'm an italian user, so obviously i follow nay italian forums. in many of them i have read that the italian version of the LSZ rom has a lot better battery performance. i haven't done any test yet, because at the moment i have no time to flash a rom, but i'll do it. any one tried and had this impressions?
I posted it because, if it is confirmed, maybe some developers could start using this LSZ instead of the german one, if interested.
obviously this is only a personal suggestion, i would never tell any cook what to do.

Sorry, but this is only the next simply idiotic battery statement. Like you said "i haven't done any test yet": nobody has.
LSZ italian, german, netherlands are the same Roms - there is no difference in battery usage a single person could even measure and will bring a statistic relevance.
You can read here in XDA international or in german or like here in italian forums: you always get the same nonsense questions and statements about battery life and capacity.

Does the Italian LSZ also have the German bloat apps like hugendubel etc? If yes, are they really identical then? Did people really check if LSZ is bit by bit the same?
Just asking because I read often on this forum that the TTT LSF is not worth to be used as a base for custom roms because it is also basically the same. But in my experience battery life is really better with stock LSF than with LSZ.
@ThaiDai I find it somehow suspicious that you act like xda-police here so often. Could you please show some more tolerance and kindness like the Buddha image in your avatar implies? The easiest way to keep unwanted threads away is to ignore them strictly. No offence thou, appreciate your work very much and also use your LSF deodex.

Please, I do not need you telling me whether I should answer a post or not. If I see obviously wrong or silly statements I will continue answering these.
If staying away from "wrong" threads is your preferred way I will not stop you - but please do not make these requests to other members.
Some of the old greek logicians would be very amused by the logic of your own anwer.
If tolerance ist accepting everything and only praise what is written then I really need to learn - but I do not want. I like the truth and especially a scientific approach when making statements that "measure" something.
I spend some of my free time in XDA trying to help other members or provide usable things. I do not care if my "special style" doesn't please everyone.

I'm sorry if this thread created all this chaos. I started it because I'm only a "simple user" and, when I read comments like "I have 30% more battery with Italian lsz" I thought: how can it be; German and Italian are different only for CSC?!
So I wrote here thinking: with all these experts and developer I'll find the truth"
And it happened, so probably those comments were only exceptions.

Hello @ThaiDai! Please, can you clarify me a question? When you say these ROMs are the same, you say this only about battery consumption, or in the whole? I am asking because I saw, in another thread, one member to confirm that the Italian ROM natively brings the lock screen shortcuts. Do you know if it is true?

Poll : Which Custom Rom you are running?
Not trying to be funny, but many people here change roms more than they changed their underwear. So the poll will be flawed.
Very true. I was on Doc's a couple days ago, then went to Darky's 9.5, and yesterday changed to Simply Galaxy Sweet Honey
1) Is this post development? I don't think so.
2) Is this post necessary? I don't think so.
3) As previously stated, is this poll accurate? I don't think so.
Why bother?
Yes you are right that people are always on the move.....I know this will be not 100% accurate but at least at this instance of time it can give us an idea (say 80% accuracy) about Market Trend (means popularity of rom) at this time (lets say Mar/Apr 2011) with current available ROMs. It may change in a month or two. But then in next quarter we may run another poll...

This thread should be in General.. that's why you'll not have a good answer here. (It's typically "noobish" to post questions or poll here, unless it's for developping something by yourself or with some dudes..)
And, on my opinion that's useless, all custom rom or more or less the same : A Sammy Rom deodexed and zipaligned, changements are tweaks... it's made me laugh when in themes OP specify it's for Doc's or Darkyy (of course it will works on both, only version/region is important).
For me no matter which rom you're using, it's Android.
If there is just one difference, it's between CM/MIUI AOSP based roms and Sammy'roms.
Same for kernels, it's just more or less functions and geeking/tweaking.

[Q] Overcome Jupiter Why BGJP4?

Why chose BGJP4 as the basis for Icarus and now Jupiter Overcome? I think it is for Spanish firmware?(Telefonica). Are the developers Spanish? If not then how did they know that this particular version of Gingerbread is the most stable? Have they tried the latest gingerbread which is DXJPE. It is Asian but it happens to be the latest/newest.....
Cool story bro

FAIL!!!!!!!
No we are not spanish (as far as I know lol). We tested the carrier BGJP4 firmware and found it more stable and snappier than the stock JQ1 (probably due to extensive testing made by spanish carrier).
Overcome has a wide user base and since asian firmware have limited locales. The decision was made to follow Euro firmwares as they contain widest range of locales to suit as much users as possible.
I cannot argue about users of overcome or to some extent galaxy tab users as I don't have figures available but judging from the development of Gingerbread for Asia which happened 3 x during the past 2 months(JPC,JPD,then JPE) then Samsung might have reasons for doing so. I can only "assume" that there are more Asian users than other areas in the world.
Notice also that I did not ask this question under the Jupiter thread in development section as I have read the "rant" of thePitBull about so many questions asked there. I don't want to piss off the developers. Yet I cannot help but question why the reluctance to use other versions aside from European ones.
Thepittbull justified rant was against those who troll or throw in destructive criticism like this rom sux etc NOT on those who ask legitmate questions. Apparently you are quiet new to overcome. We have adopted the asian 2.2.1 line of rom in froyo overcome ROM. Alterbridge86 made an astronomical efforts in trying to integrate other locales into the asian rom and that included decompiling apk by apk but it was a total mess as some apps didnt work or accept new locales. On release of GB and after delibration it was decided that the European ROM be adopted for the forementioned reason
PS I understand that the asian firmware has alot of perks (I personally flashed korean firmwares on other samsung devices and it was awesome) but in this case we have to look at the bigger picture here.
Thank you for patiently replying.

LOL.... @Bongski, please note that I don't have issues when people ask pertinent questions like the one you asked here. It's when people ask "how do I xxx" or things that's been answered a dozen times "like why can't Nova/Asphalt" work on Overcome Gingerbread... when it's been dealt with a thousand times over, that it gets me in a grumpy mood. And it's usually on release days that it tends to happens. Yeah... PMS!
But please do not hesitate to ask if you've got a pertinent question there. How do you know it's pertinent? Someone from the team will usually answer! BTW, I think I'm gonna repost this question on our thread before someone else asked it there... just so that people will know the rationale.

Excuse my noobness, but Titanium Backup is able to backup locales. I restored a German locale in Dip7 DXJPE ROM even though German is not included in this ROM. Also there are Apps with which one can custamize locales and which also ship with a lot of locales (at least thats what the market description sais).
Couldn't one just use one of the aforementioned ways to integrate more locales in asian based ROMs? I ask because there are some minor things which work in Dip7's DXJPE ROM by default but not in Overcome, like playing 1080p flash videos in browser smoothly and having apps show up in battery usage statistics. I don't think this is just due to Dip7's modding (maybe I'm wrong).
These are just minor things and I'm overall very happy with the Overcome experience, but as bongski, I also think using the latest samsung source as basis for OC ROMs definately has advantages.

What is best LG 4x KitKat ROM that have (bestBattery+Volume Wake + Notification LED)

hi, i am now on stock based Zaibian ROM and want to install kitkat
there is many kitkat roms in XDA for 4x
i need help to choose best in battery life (i had vanir rom some old days and not good battery at all and changed to stock based)
3D games and overclocking cpu and gpu.... is not important for me. it drains battery
i need volume wake and notification LED for missed events too
can anyone help me to choose?
Well, you should wait at least 1 more month before flashing kitkat roms, because they are not stable/bugfree yet.
If you want to play with kernels and such flash 1 rom per week and test what is best for you.
Personally i recommend staying on stock, just wait for Zaiben Stable(RC 8 ).

"Best" ROM, Kernel etc threads are not allowed on XDA. You should also search first as things like Volume Wake and Notification LED are easy enough to add yourself to other ROMs.
Download a few and try them to see how they feel and how they work for you - never rely on someone else to advise you on which is "Best" as it is all subjective, based on how you use the phone and how it feels to you.
It fills like thread gonna be closed

It isn't allowed, and if you don't know why then search and read a little.
@hesami
It's not allowed to post questions like this. U can read some topics in "Optimus 4X HD Original Android Development".
But I don't want to be a sheriff like @SimonTS and can support You with my thoughts.
For me most suitable rom is CM11 official due to very often updates and fully working camera (photos + vide orecording). There is also CyanFox rom which is much faster and smother than CM11 and what is important can get working camera by installing additional aps from market. But this is only me. You definetelly need to read more about this roms to get your best one.
PS. I'm using Iodak 9.9 kernell which improves a lot smothness of these roms.

I'm not trying to be a sheriff There are rules on XDA and they exist for a very good reason. When someone has those rules pointed out to them and then try to argue and claim that they "don't think so" the rules exist it gets to be very annoying. If you also have a problem with the rules then I would suggest you PM a moderator and ask them to get the rules changed - see how far that gets you

I love You man . I agree with rules of this forum. I accepterd it at the very beggining of my profile . What is more I agree with You that this topic should not be created. But I think (and this is only my opinion) that Your are just the man who "suggest" everyone what should they do (deffinition of sheriff) and Your suggestions are always the same "use search option", "do do that", "there was a topic of that" etc. so please don't suggest me PM's to moderator .
PS. I suggest You to report this topic to moderator and probably my answers to .
We do not allow best ROM/Kernel threads on XDA. Head over to the development section, try some out and see which best suits your needs.

Both ROMs will have the exact same stability and battery life. All Sixth Sense ROMs in fact. The difference between ROMs is the tweaks. The tweaks are limited to each rom. See the tweaks exclusive to each ROM, then make your pick
In your opinion, witch it's better ?

''which rom is better'' threads are normally not allowed here, they are all good roms, better to try both rom yourself to get an idea.
What does not go here (by far an uncomplete list, just some examples for topics that are not tolerated)
Everything prohibited by above linked forum rules.
"Whis is the best rom for this device", "Is this rom better than that" (always subjective, prone to fanboy wars)
Device comparison threads "Which is better: iphone or this phone" (see above)
"What was your last phone/will be your next phone" (Off-Topic to this phone, post that in OT-Forum)
"Hello"/"Goodbye"/"Merry Christmas,Easter,Hannukkah, whatever" (Obviously OT, just imagine every user posts that)
"I'll never buy HTC again", "Why HTC/Samsung/whoever sucks" and all other "hate"-threads (Tell that those guys, not us)

You could make a backup of your existing rom to try the other and if you don't like it just restore your previous rom.
Thanks, sorry for my fault
Just go to the first post on both ROM's threads and do a little reading. Decide which features best fits your needs. It's easy to backup your current rom, try another, restore the original, etc. I always keep a backup of my favorite 'working' rom just in case....
Ok, thanks man!

best N7000 rom

Hi,
I'm currently looking for a nice stable KitKat rom. In testing asylum right now. I really like the dark interface. Looks pretty nice on amoled. I have some wlan and camera probs though.
The original omni and slimkat seem to be good choices, too.
I want a fully working nice rom asap and not test for days or weeks. Unfortunately I have other stuff to do
Can someone give me some pros and cons of those or other roms, pls? Which one delivers the most stable build atm.
Thanks a lot

Unless stated otherwise, each Rom will have their full description in the OP including known bugs. Of course individual hardware condition also play a part in generating issues. The best solution is to always do a full, clean flash whenever flashing a new rom.
And to answer your enquiry, all developers who cooked the roms have made the roms in accordance to survey, latest updates, and mostly from personal preference so again what might be an issue to you might not be to many others. As a weekly flasher, the best way to know how good a rom is of course to try it ourselves, it's all the fun of flashing cusrom about.

The BEST ROM is the one that works BEST for YOU. Read the ROM threads...it is full of members who think THAT ROM is the best.
You need to find out what works best for you, your phone/apps/usage/signal/setup.
