[Q] Bricked Galaxy Mini black screen - Samsung Galaxy Mini

I have a Galaxy Mini GT-5570 phone.
Last night I installed "ROM Manager" and tried to partition my SD card. It requires to reboot my phone and I confirmed that, so it shut down my phone. Then it can't boot anymore -- all I get is just a black screen!
Unfortunately, I read that ROM Manager can cause hard brick for Galaxy Mini lately...
I tried all possible solutions found in the Internet but nothing works. So I decided to try the USB JIG method as it can force my phone to boot to download mode. The point is that I can't find 300k resistor then can I try 330k or it's dengerous?
Is there another method to revive my phone back ??

Congatz for not reading all of the warning threads. Now you have a toy phone. SSC!

you now have a door stop lol

big mistake
take it to a service center immediately or you'll end with an expensive paperweight

I think you are trying to find a single 300k resistor which I think you may not get
Buy three different 100k resistor and connect them and try
I must say service centre is the best option if you are having warranty

AW: [Q] Bricked Galaxy Mini black screen
But lol how can it be bricked just by trying to partition the SDCARD?!!

[Q] help with jig to force download mode on galaxy s i9000

hi guys,i am totally at a loss with this galaxy s.
ok so the phone has no 3 button download/recovery mode,so today i went and bought 3 100 resistors,a soldering iron and a couple of micro usb leads to make a jig.
now then,i have made the jig following various video instructions on youtube ect.
the phone is still not responding to anything i do to it,can anyone please help me with this.
well judging by the lack of responce,im thinking that this phone is 100% bricked.
ok i have access to 3 galaxy s phones and my jig isnt working on any of them,so im asuming there is something wrong with the jig.
i have got 3 100ohm resistors wired together and i have soldered them to the far right pin on the front of the usb and on to pin 5 on the back of the usb,is this wrong?
pictures of my jig
here is some pics of my jig taken with one of my working galaxy s phones.

What rom where you on before ?
Well phone where updated with Froyo 2.1 but nothing else. oh it were also rooted and thats about it! have been thinking about to sending phone back to the manufacturer! dont really have time trying to find some cure for it.
Rooting = no warranty so you would be best to clear it via jig just in case .

hi there it been longtime since i wroted here.
Well i tryed the jig method with usb cable and with single 300k resistance, made little mistake not to measure it before because there is a 5% tolerance with it so my resistance were only 294k. Doesnt work btw phone dont do anything with it, well i have to make new cable and be sure that it is the 301k resistance. will be adding new info after it what will happen. Im slightly scare that even getting that right resistance it wount do anything, it wuold be that point when i will send it to samsung and maybe get it working again.
Downloading...
okay. next problem with jig managed to get my phone to download mode!! JIIHAA
but now my computer cant regonize it!? actually this problem had before the magical black screen. Any solutions for that? have installed new usb drivers and oldones but cant find it.
PLS need more help!!
Sounds like you need to clean the cable. I've had a hell of a time with these issues in the past. When it is on again off again (or you just get 'generic device' or unkown device) then try cleaning the port on the computer with running alcholol and something tiny enough to get in there.
I did that after a huge long search on here and it was like freakin magic. 8 drivers popped up all at once!
Never hurts to do the comp and the cable too (and make sure its not a charging only micro usb...).

[Q] SGS I9000 computer crashed while updating flashing

My computer crashed while trying to flash an SGS I9000 through Odin. The phone will not boot at all - the screen just stays off. I've tried pulling the battery for extended periods but it makes no difference. I can't get into recovery mode or download mode. The screen seems permanently off.
When I put the battery in and plug the phone into the computer it tries (and fails) to install a driver for a "SEC S59C110 Test B/D".
I've tried the 301K resistor jig but it did not seem to do anything.
Any ideas on what I can do? The phone is long out of warranty, so if the phone is permanently dead then I'll just have to buy a new one (though I'm hoping for a fix, if possible!)
You could try this:

Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
read this too..
it's basically the same thing, but it talks about the possibility of using the unbrickable mod without doing the hardware mod... (if i got it right) wich i think it is your case because the computer is able to enumerate usb.

good luck!
and let us know
interesting, keep us updated if you try unbrickable

It's very strange that the jig fails on these situation.
Maybe that the jig is not correctly built....
Why don't you try with another usb dongle?
I hope that you solve your problem.
I can't believe it - I'm absolutely astounded. UnBrickable and Heimdall worked and they brought the phone back to life! Thank you guys so much!
you did the hardware mod for unbrickable?
No, I dismantled the phone and when I saw how tiny the resistors were I shat my pants.
I tried it without doing the hardware mods first, and I was going to mod it only if it failed (which, fortunately, it didn't!)
you lucky one then if the bootloader would be f.... up you would have to techmod
but anyways gg ;]

[Q] Captivate brick , black screen no power

Hello ,
Y'day was updating my captivate tru samsung kies mini.
The kies downloaded the latest firmware and phone was in downloading mode .
All of sudden kies min said upgrade not sucessful and informed to remove the battery and try again in recover mode.
But the the phone does not want to turn on or do any thing even with 3 button mode recovery.
Its just powered OFF mode.
I have tried the usb cable jig with 300k resistors also no luck.
any help appreciated guys.
Thanks in advance.
Mine also did this, and I called AT&T. If it's under warranty you'll receive a refurb, if not AT&T may replace it for free if you can sweet talk them like I did. Just make sure they understand nothing you did was the reason it will not turn on, and try not to get snippy with them even though it's so easy, because they seem so dense.
They will make you go thru trying another battery, and cable. Just tell them you have already did this. I already tried the new battery in my old phone just to make sure. It still will not power on normally, or go into download mode with my dongle.
If AT&T won't replace it, then you Will have to contact adam outler, or mobiletechvideos.com for the unbrickable mod.
no use in creating a usb jig either to unbrick
May be I will have to send this to get it JTAG.
I am ok in soldering etc , so if any one has the instructions for JTAG please post it.

From what I understand, you'll probably have better luck with Unbrickable Mod than JTAG if you're going to do the soldering yourself. On top of that, you'll have the added benefit of never having to worry about bricking again.
UBM is much easier to do than the Jtag. Instructions for UBM found here
Before you go taking your phone apart try plugging it into the computer and seeing if it even registers it.

i9000 dead

Hi,
My i9000 got hanged and started just rebooting always. i tried flashing my phone to a rom and thats it. after which the phone just ons showing the galaxy s gt-i9000 screen and switches off. neither am i able to get the download mode nor the restore mode which i used to get previously using the 3 button combinations
i gave it to service center .thy said the motherboard is gone and asks me to pay nearly the price of a new phone. can any one advice. is my phone really dead and nothing cant be done about this
Well if the motherboard is the problem there's nothing that you can do.You can still search for a I9000 second hand with problems(broken display or something) and replace the motherboard .Is much cheaper than buying a new motherboard!
