Coming from a Galaxy Nexus I really miss the look of standard ICS and it's keyboard CRT animations, launcher, lock screen etc.
Is there a ROM I can install which has all this, plus Samsung pen apps?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Not exactly afaik, but check RocketROM v06 + Apex/Nova Launcher + Go Locker with ICS theme). ...should give you CRT animations, the locker, the launcher (which you should be able to test now as well, if you already are on ICS).

The AOKP rom is likely the best for you see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683879

Sod the pen apps if you want a true Nexus feel you'll have to go aokp or cm9 I personally prefer aokp as everything works even tethering. The pen still works too, just not the S apps so you can still use it to browse and type etc.

You won't find any AOSP ROM's with S-Pen apps like S-Memo, but you can install a couple of other ones from the Play Store. Can't remember their names, but search after "s-pen" and you'll find it.
I'm not that worried about the Samsung apps to be honest. I guess what I should have said is that I want the pen to work as accurately as it does on stock.
I actually use an app called quill to take notes on.

Msorry mate, can't have stock-look and S-pen apps. The apps are coded to work with the TouchWiz framework.
The best you can do, I guess, is a launcher like Nova or Apex.
Paranoid is just plain awesome... based on cm9 so no touchwizz apps, but incredibly configurable and pure ics feel. Well worth a look. I think the threads currently closed short term, but it'll be back up shortly with an update. VERY stable!
Sent from my Paranoid Android GT-N7000. It doesn't get much better than this!
So I'm still unclear, sorry.
If I install aokp, it wont have the s-pen apps, but does the stylus still work? So I can use a 3rd party drawing app, accurately.

For anyone that would like to know, the stylus works like a Bluetooth mouse. Ie it seems to show a mouse pointer when the stylus is close to the screen

Has anyone here tried developing a UI similar to the First Else Intuition UI from Emblaze mobiles for android based phones?
I am looking for a thumb-centric UI / launcher / theme for my android phone.
Any suggestions/updates?
Cheers.
J
try tsf shell
how is TSF shell thumb-centric?
I've tried everywhere, but never found anything that even comes remotely close. The best I've found is Circle launcher https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.dbware.circlelauncher&hl=en
especially if you set up a semi circular interface. I'm really surprised noone took up such an awesome idea with tremendous potential.
Yes, I am surprised too that no one even trying the Else Intuition UI for Android. They have already done/tried it for Windows Mobile and IOS.
I wont be surprised if there is one for BB as well.
Dock4doid and Clutchpad are apps in the right direction, but much more can be done, I am optimistic.
Android deserves a try as well.
Waiting....
I love Else UI
IMHO its a lot better and smoother any all the cluttered UIs that are being released ...
Its so futuristic!!! Lol
But its a phenomenal UI

lying on android app development
guys, the existence of LMT pie launcher suggests that its possible to have an interface similar or even better than else intuition UI. Although I suspect that it would be difficult to top the else intuition UI. However, I would suggest everyone interested in a thumb-centric UI request the devs here to come up with something similar to else intuition UI.

Haha that was awhile ago!!!
In all seriousness an xda member sent me a link a few months ago about a team of devs .. ( non xda) who were working on bringing the else ui to android... I cannot find it now...
I love the thumb-centric ui I want it bad...
Swhy I tried my best to make it for winmo when I had it
Idk how many of you have the stock ICS or JB browser... but the quick menu that is built in works exactly like intuition Ui... as in you touch and drag towards a specific menu option and a bunch of different options displays off of that one......
I would love to tear apart the code and see how it works and build the effect in to a launcher!!!

I've googled and can't find if anyone is working a port of jellybean from nexus 7 or 10? Anyone know if its possible? I'm liking the hybrid UI on the nexus 7 and 10 where the soft keys are in the center of the lower bar and you get an upper notification bar.

Re: Stock AOSP Nexus 10 from or similar?
Thanks but that dosnt include stock aosp like the nexus tablets, also looking through that thread it seems a lot of the settings from akop, pa etc clash. I'm quite happy running OATS light jellybean cm10 at the moment. Just wondered if anyone else wanted a more stock android rom.

Chameleon OS (or ChaOS for short) is a custom Android ROM that gives the user more control than they can experience on any other Android ROM. Starting with a CyanogenMOD base, we customize each piece to give ultimate control while maintaining the simplicity we all love about Android. The most notable feature of ChaOS is the theme engine, which can apply different pieces of themes in a true mix-and-match style. The launcher has been completely overhauled with tons of options that you'd normally need to download a third-party launcher for, such as home screen previews, folder sorting, and folder icon styles. The Messaging app has also had some UI retouches, including messaging bubbles and quick emoji button.
The entire framework of ChaOS has been modified around the theme engine, allowing for custom fonts, boot animations (with animated preview), and themes. No longer do you have to try to find the perfect theme, with Chameleon OS you can patch it together with your favorite pieces from different themes. Messaging, Phone, Status Bar, icons, everything can be set completely individually from each other which provides the capabilities to completely re-imagine your phone. Creating themes for the ChaOS Theme Engine is superbly simple and has extreme versatility.
Even with all of the features we've currently implemented, ChaOS will continue to mature with even more refined settings and features. We will be completely open source and will welcome developers to join us, whether it be by maintaining a device or utilizing our gerrit review. Even if you're not a developer, your voice will not go unheard. We will continually poll our users for the most wanted features and do our best to implement them.
Credits do not go to me.. I did not create this.

Nope, AOSP is coded differently to Sense5. Meaning the code doesn't just work and requires a lot of rewriting ect.
I believe halo had to be built in when your building aroma from source and since devs don't build sense from source it can't be built in.

Pie and Halo aren't even remotely the same thing.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
if you really want Halo you can use PAC rom or PA itself because they are both really stable right now (have used both of them) but obsessively you lose a couple of sense features (i dont mind lol). But most likely Halo will never be on sense, but there is an app in the play store that makes your notification like that, but I have never tried it.
You will never see HALO in any non AOSP ROM. That's something you can count on.
I like how the guy asked something, not knowing the extent of what would be needed to actually do it, and gets a dozen "nope!"
I'm assuming he got the gist and didn't needed 30 chime-ins
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Try floating notification..is near the same
Have a look at Floating Notifications in the Play Store. Reasonably similar in principle but doesn't open a smaller window of the app.

Impossible.

no one wants halo on sense .. do we?
While I think it would be a serious challenge, I'm not sure it'd actually be impossible. Miui builds based on OEM roms work on the same principle as what would need to be done to put halo into a sense build.
Additionally I think that the xposed module could be a big part of making this happen..
That being said, it's certainly not something I could do.
It's not impossible per se. But would take mountains of work as sense roms don't get built from source. So you can't merge it the ui and java edits needed.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
If a dev ever got halo working on a sense Rom, either natively or through xposed, they'll be xda's superstar!
