Cant find the WIFI CALL settings option in note 2? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note

This is my2nd note 2 after coming back to tmobile for the 2nd time.
I remember hsving the wifi calling options toggle somewhere in the settings.
This time on this note 2 I cant locate it .
Note: I am on prepaid monthly not a contract would that disable the feature or should it still be in the device itself.
Also is this a feature in any of the flashable roms out to date
I am currently on cm10 which I believe xplains why it says gt-N7105 Below.
Is this true when flashing roms its possible to show a diff device model number?

I don't think Cyanogen Mods support wifi calling.
Yes, you can have a different device model number on the phone build. You can change it to the correct one with a build editor, using rom toolbox or something like that though it doesn't effect the phone at all.

(Work In Progress) FAQ
Do I have to wipe before flashing??
Always wipe, no matter what ROM you are on now, even if it's a previous version of BlakCM.
I flashed a different kernel and now I'm having an issue, what should I do?
Boot to recovery, wipe everything and reflash BlakCM. I'll only provide support for the kernel integrated into BlakCM.
I see 'So and so" posted a fix for this issue or that, is it safe to flash that fix on BlakCM?
Please make a backup before making any modifications or flashing any 'fixes' from ANYONE. You also flash said fix or mod at your own risk..
My data [3G/4G/LTE] doesn't work, but everyone else's seems fine, how do I fix it?
Flash a Stock ROM and update your profile then flash back to BlakCM.
This ROM is for the carrier in the section it is placed in, if you have problems with data and are on a different carrier,
then you must search elsewhere for a fix or ask around to see if someone else knows.
I flashed the ROM and now I have an issue, what should I do?
Pull a logcat and post it on to pastebin.com, provide a link in this thread to it.
Be detail specific in your post. I need to know if you have modded or changed anything that may cause the issue.
How do I pull a logcat?
Check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238
Will you add 'this' feature?
Not likely. If you want a feature added unofficially, you should add the feature yourself and post your unofficial build.
When will this 'issue' be fixed?
NO ETA's.

You won't have any signal at all...no data. Don't panic. Relax...then put your phone in to airplane mode for 1 minute...then switch it off and make sure you have DATA checked ON. No luck. The phone turns on, no signal. Okay, I switch to WCDMA preferred, and I got a signal with my 3G SIM-card. BUT! In the status-bar the scale shows with the "R" (Roaming) letter, and I got no data. I can not even set APN for my connection, as there is no such setting.

Still can't view Google Hangout messages on gear

Even after the update today...I can't view Google Hangout notifications on my gear....omg

After the update, did you enable the additional notifications in the gear manager? if you click on notifications, at the bottom there is a 'more notifications' toggle, which then allows you to have any app installed (that would normall have notifications in your task bar) send their notifications to the gear.
This worked for me. I can read the messages from hangouts without any issue at all. I also have facebook notifications and such shown on the watch as well.
I'm having the same issue I'm on wicked v9 now with a samsung galaxy s4 for t-mobile and I don't see a "more notifications" tab anywhere just a notification tab. It has hangout on it but it only opens the app on the phone.
Yep mine is the same as Ragnarkov. ..don't have more notifications. ..maybe I have to wait for another update

I am actually shocked. I honestly thought software-wise (with any OTA/Kies updates) we recieved them at the same time. I usually check for availability with AT&T or another american provider because the ones here in Canada are TERRIBLE at giving out updated information.

Are you running an alternate rom on your note 3? Or are you using an s4 or note 2 perhaps? I'm using a stock, fully updated note 3 here in Canada (bought on and sold by bell) with a fully updated gear directly from samsung brick and mortar store.
I still am stumped. I could have sworn American providers got all software updates at same time as, or earlier than, Canadian providers.
I have heard that you needed all software/firmware updated in order for all notifications to show and work. If your gear manager is same version as mine, is your gear firmware same as well?
I attached a picture of my firmware on the gear to compare. The end part I'd the most important, the MK7 part. That's the latest firmware from what I know available to everyone in North america, or so I've been lead to believe.

TO HELP US :
activate patern on the galaxy gear
on your phone
FOR HANGOUT ONLY :
remove any SMS software (Go SMS, and others)
Because it was the problem for me... (but i will give you a solution after)
activate hangout SMS
Go to options, SMS, and activate Notifications and Vibrate
On the gear manager, go to Notification, more, and check "Hangout"
Go to Hangout, send a message to your own phone number to test it, and wait 1 or 2 minutes to validate if it's okay
FOR GO SMS :
Go to Hangout (if you have) and uncheck the SMS option
Go to GO SMS, settings, "advanced", and UNCHECK other SMS softwares in the section "other settings"
return in "settings", go to "notifications" , check "enable notifications"
go to "defaut notification settings" , and uncheck "vibrate"
Now you can use GO SMS on your phone and receive the notifications from the stock SMS software on your gear
The only one problem is you will receive 2 notifications on your phone, (but only one vibration)
Sorry if the paths and names are not the same in english for you, because my phone is set in French...

[Q] AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Noob here, I have searched all over the Forum about Carrier IQ on AT&T's Samsung Galaxy Note 3, " No Luck!"
Anyone find a way to Uninstall Carrier IQ on AT&T's Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N900AUCUBMJ5 without installing custom ROM or Bricking?
I am Rooted, with Kingo,
Used Carrier IQ Detector,
Used Paid version of "Logging Removal Key,
Logging Test App by TrevE which states "Carrier IQ is on my device", Tried to uninstall with Logging Checker by TrevE with no luck!
Found Carrier IQ files located in the following path,
Device\System\\lib\libiq_client.so
Device\System\\lib\libiq_service.so
1st Attempt, Renamed both system files with Root Explorer Pro (W/R Option) and ended up Bricking, Had to Re-Flash!
(I was able to Recover thanks to evilpotatomans thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559715)
(A Special Thanks to the Following Donors:
 @acdcflame
 @lilhacker
 @JAKISTER
 @royal1262 )
2nd Attempt, Deleted both System files,"BAD MOVE AGAIN!" Bricked, Re-Flashed!
Is or will there be a workaround for the Stock ROM? There are some features that I like but DESPISE the AT&T SPYWARE!
Thanks, Van

Voodoo is just a Detector for Carrier IQ, I know it is active and it is logging,
Logging Test App by TrevE Verified the processes but was unable to remove or stop it.
I used Carrier IQ Detector as well as Carrier IQ detector Red Pill.
I am simply looking for a possible work around without installing a Custom ROM at this time.

Download and Verify with Carrier IQ Red Pill or Carrier IQ detector from the Play Store.
At this time I have been unsuccessful with removing the Binaries without Bricking!
If I am not mistaken this is tied into the Android System Version 4.3-N900AUCUBMJ5,
as far as I know it cannot at this time be removed unless a Custom ROM is installed.
I am in need of an Dev. to possibly help out

How do you check the build date. I got the phone on Friday the 7th of February at the att store. Only reason I got it was because ciq was inactive on the note 3. I was looking at the g flex but it was alive and running in it. The date you listed is the day that version of the kernel was created. Try disabling all of the att apps that came pre installed.

It's very strange that carrier iq is running on your phone. Are you rooted? You can try system tuner free if your rooted. Install it and go to system and then go to details. Scroll down and Un select all things carrier iq. Reboot and see if that works. I'm not rooted so I can't tell you if it works or not. I know with the g2 ciq was a pain and that's how we disabled it.

WORKING T-MOBILE HOTSPOT w/ hidden menu option UPDATED.

I discovered this while digging around in the hidden menu. Accessed via dial pad in your phone apk by dialing 3845#*959#. (959 due to the 3 numbers in the device variant). Other carriers /variants use their last 3 accordingly. I don't know if this works for all carriers or not. I only have a D959.
First off let's learn why the "tether dun" option by using sqlite editor and changing the 1 to 0 doesn't work nor stick after reboot.
Carriers seem to have become wise to this hack since its been around from the first Moto RAZR XT912. And probably before that. Seems they have found a way to still tell whether or not you're tethering by monitoring the data stream and seeing the desktop user agent or style that is used by laptops and desktop PCs and/or other tablets use when tethering off of a devices hotspot.
So with that said there needs to be a way for carriers to disable this feature. So I went probing through my D959's hidden menu and found the option. I'm posting screen shots (hopefully in order of the method used) as well as my account page showing my hotspot usage has ran out at 3 gigs free that comes with my unlimited data.
I'm not responsible for your device or lack of following instructions to a "t". Its your phone and your choice to try or not.
With that said here we go:
First create new APN in your " access point names settings" to mirror that of your stock APN. And add to the APN type line - ",admin, dun"
The do the following :
1. Go to dail pad type in "3845#*959#
(The menu comes up)
2. Scroll to find option named " settings" click it
(Another menu pops up )
3. Scroll to find option "up sell url". Click it
(A smaller menu window pops up)
4. Chose " TMUS hastetheringoption". Click it
5. Back out like normal. I don't know if this matters but I use a 3rd party hotspot toggle as to not enter the T-Mobile hotspot apk.
6. Profit
Sorry to those of you who have trying with no luck due to I left out a step. My fault I apologize.

How could this be when I'm clearly changing the "tether_dun_required" -1 to a 0? Well I don't know if T-Mobile got wise to us or what. But I found another line in the same settings using sqlite editor called
"Package_verify_enabled". It also has a 1 (for true) out beside it. So being that I need my hotspot for my son to play xbox360 live, I changed it to a "0" . and what do ya know? I now have working WiFi hotspot and I tested this mod out for the entire Florida St. vs Louisville game tonight while streaming it to my Nexus 7 (2013) at work so all the co workers and I could watch what we thought and what seemed to be a Florida St. ∆$$ whipping but sadly enough Florida St. Pulled it out at the end. But on a good note, the WiFi hotspot hack still works.
Good luck

Awesome find! I was looking at that menu today, but wasn't sure which option to select. Great work!

It never stuck after reboot and I always had to change the user string agent but editing the tether dun required value worked for me.

1. Go to dail pad type in "3845#*959#
(The menu comes up)
2. Scroll to find option named " settings" click it
(Another menu pops up )
3. Scroll to find option "up sell url". Click it
(A smaller menu window pops up)
4. Chose " TMUS hastetheringoption". Click it
5. Back out like normal. I don't know if this matters but I use a 3rd party hotspot toggle as to not enter the T-Mobile hotspot apk.
6. Profit

Thanks for the response. I'm currently running stock kit Kat (when i upgraded it borked something with the ability to connect in different modes with my computer, i can only connect with the "pc software" option) (getting new one sent on Monday) so it can't be any frozen programs. Not sure what it could be though really cuz I've never really messed with the hidden menus on phones. Always had build props and custom roms to do that stuff for me.

I have no idea about the other variants of the g flex. I have T-Mobile d959. I'm not even sure if those options are the same in the other variants. I do believe the hidden menu is still accessible with the 3845#*your variants number# but beyond that have no idea.
UPDATE 4-27-14 :::
I've had my hotspot on all weekend watching YouTube, showbox, surfing the web, as well as my son has been doing the same and even had his Xbox 360 tethered thru it and my hotspot data amount is still sitting on 3.0 gigs according to t-mobile's built in apk that is linked to our accounts. The T-Mobile folks no the apk I'm speaking of. It doesn't update instantly but does do so at least twice a day or more. Here's a screen shot showing. Notice the dates.

And my data amount went up roughly 5 gigs. Man porn in HD is killing my data. Lmao. J/K folks. I got unlimited. Lmao. J/k. That's what my sons Xbox live will do to ya.

Oh h#ll no. Not man porn. Lmfao I got a good laugh out of that. I didn't even see the way it looked after I wrote it. Geeez that's classic.
Here's a screen shot. It wouldn't let me share it due to my Nexus 7 not being compatible.

Yyyeeeaaaa, this still won't work for me. I guess I'm not as fortunate as you or I'm doing something wrong. I actually haven't seen anyone confirm that this works though (unless I missed it which very well could be the case) so feel free to chime in if you know something haha.

After reading my original post I left out a step. Make your own APN setting and add to "APN type" ",admin, dun". And reboot then follow original post.

Hello, I tried this and it didnt work so I deleted the new APN I created but ever since my otherwise amazing data speed and connection has been inconsistent and spotty. Even looses signal sometimes which has never happened. Speeds are also not as good as they were.
I set the " TMUS hastetheringoption" option as advised.
My question is what is the default setting so I can go back to it as I believe it has something to do with what I am experiencing.
Thanks!

I believe its TMUS dataplanrequired. I don't understand why your signal is spotty and loss of signal. The more I mess with these settings I'm realizing that all this has done is create another option in the settings storage file where the other method of changing the tether fun required 1 to a 0 is. The other file I know have ,mind you im not sure how I got it, but I believe from testing one or several of the upsell URL options. That now has that tether dun required set at 0, not by me, and sticks through reboot. Here's a screenshot of said settings option that used to not be there. Let me know if this is just me or if others have noticed this now showing up.
Well actually I lost the pics when I flashed back to stock after a weekend long brick. But I managed to some how have screen shots saved to Dropbox of some build.props that I didn't notice before. The other settings option was seen thru sqlite editor when used to change that 1 to a 0 when I clicked on "settings storage" there used to be only one choice then a few days before I bricked and flashed back to stock I noticed another one called settings BCPM I think or something like that. It had all the same build.props in it except the tether fun required was defaulted to 0 already. Which kept me from having to set it or from going to the upsell URL again. The "BCPM" may not be the correct letters but it was something like that. Sorry for the delayed response also I've been bricked all weekend and trying to get it back lol

Followed the instructions and it still doesn't work for me. How do you get the tether dun required to stay at 0 through reboot. I still have to edit the value every time I reboot. My build.prop looks just like yours.

Enable preferred network on Att flex?

Att flex doesn't give me the option changing network band in secret menu nor is there an option in the settings. How can I enable the option?

Hey man ive finally find the solution but first your device must be rooted so as to access the buold.prop file. To enable network selection mode edit build prop using root explorer change the following line from ATT to OPEN root is required for this.
Chek the photo to know to line. That's all enjoy dude

What's the purpose of enabling preferred network? Should I do this? I have a D950.
I just tried this now. I am here in Florida with Cricket wireless and service has been spotty. I think the mod stops priority of the LTE and allows for other speeds to function. Stopped getting spotty LTE and now 4g but at higher bars.

hello,
Thanks for ur trick..
It works..
But I am facing some issues with it.
1. I cant type OPEN. it shows only 3 digits "OPE"
2. Changing this changes sms list view to go invisible/ white .in list view it shows nothing.o nce i open sms thread then i can see sms
3. Changing this disables hidden menu.
I really dont know why this happening. But i have confirmed this by doing/undo changes many times.,.. but is it because of issue no 1?
I made the change in the build prop file, gow do i select carrier now?
