Best app killer that makes apps STAY KILLED?

The battery on this phone is the WORST ive ever used!!
Ridiculous!!
I know what apps and settings to use to reduce battery life, i'm not a noob,(screen brightness,bluetooth off,data off,short screen time out,locations off,gps off,disabled push notifications from all apps etc etc) but still!!
For example i used dolphin browser:exited>turned wifi off and put phone in airplane mode.. and after 6 hours DOLPHIN COSUMED 70% of my battery and went from 90% to 20% whilst idle doing nothing over 6 hours!!! Uninstalled that and put chrome back on..
So i NEED a good app killer that makes apps stay killed, tried BOOSTER, kills apps but when you refresh they all come back on mostly!!!!
no im not rooted,heard that makes battery worse .. Also im on 4.0.3 version V10F

no problems here. why is a battery worse when something is runnig in the background ?
i use Advanced Task Manager, its configured to kill delayed some apps when the screen goes off.
for blocking autostarts i use the buildin function of LBE Security Manager + Gemini App Manager

it needs root and the user has not a rooted phone.
I suggest to use the 'maxinum bacground running processes' option.
However It's better to check the downloades apps that may drain battery and delete them.
After doing this,I suggest to use fast reboot pro and activate the option 'kill process when screen off'.

The apps would start all the time... when he likes to close the apps permanently, then he needs root access.otherwise the apps will start again.
Or use better battery stats to analyse the drainer apps and replace with alternate apps. At sample Facebook is an very big battery drainer....

i know but he does not have root access..

Get root or live with them, sorry.
It's very simple to root your device... and you can do a lot more with your device.

I have to leave the phone with the screen on 50% brightness with facebook with full auto-update over 3g to use about that much battery in 6 hrs
(But then, i did freeze all possible apps from titanium backup and put my cpu on my powersaving plan)
SPOILER ALERT! Lets go really of topic now...
Guess what. I have no wifi internet as my cable modem is broken(new is ordered) i have been browsing and posting here over the 3g connection for 2 hrs now. I am tired. The clock is 23:45 and i have to get up from bed at 6:45 tomorrow to be able to reach school. FML!!!!

If you didn't root you'r phone you can do this Solutions:
1.Go to "settings > apps > all" and disable any programs you can like weather , youtube , google search , etc...
2.go to "settings > developer options > background process limit" and set that to "no background processes" and check show all ANRs
3.install advanced task manager or task killer and set that to auto kill when screen off

Rooting and installing titanium backup pro sounds like the best option. If you have used any of the apps you dont like, you can just freeze them. If you dont care. Uninstall them!

or you can use rom toolbox lite (if it works on lg o4x,I read that it didn't work some weeks ago) wich is free and has lots of tools inside.
another good solution is changing the OOM values and set higher values : doing this you don't have much backgroung running apps so you get more speed on your phone and you'll save some battery juice but you can't do lots of multitasking operation with this solution...

wich app did you hibernate ?
wich firmware version are you using ?
did you update superSU and its binary ?
this app don't work correctly if you're using superuser app.

It is working good for me

[APP]HTC Sense Clock widget

Hello people!
I made this widget(4x3) app using Yahoo Weather android app (available on google code as yahooweatherandroid) as the base. A big thanks to Nguyen Quoc Dat for developing the original and giving me a head-start with his easy to understand code (since this is the first time I am writing something in java ).
The original code was meant to be compatible with sdk version 3. So it did not have all the optimizations available in the later sdks. The code is now compatible with sdk version 14 and up (target version 17) having most of the optimizations. All the widget updates are done in the background threads so the main UI thread isn't caught up doing that. Also, clock updates are not done when the device is sleeping thus preserving battery (haven't tested this thoroughly yet but hoping it works fine. Will be great if someone tested this out too!)
One big thing I am not sure of is how this widget would fit on other devices. I just have a Xperia TL, and it looks great on it's screen. So I am hoping it would look just fine on other 720p devices (not sure how it would look other screen sizes. I'll appreciate if someone can help me out here).

The app is pretty much the same from the original app. My main aim was to get the widget right. I'll polish the app soon.
PM me if you want to take a peak at the code. Remember that it is just the same as the original with a little modification.

Update:
The app is now cleaned up and a few bugs have been fixed!
Font sizes have been fixed and are not scalable (not sure if this is ideal but it makes the app and widget look good and uniform irrespective of the system font size).

I could not recreate the issue you were facing.
Can you try uninstalling and reinstalling the new version that I posted?
Once you set the location, it should immediately reflect on the app as well as widget. If it doesn't, you might want to close and reopen the app (not the widget). I think I have to dig a little deeper to see if this was some kind of race condition.

Switching runtime between Dalvik and ART

I read about the inclusion of the new ART runtime in 4.4, so I went into my Nexus 5 and enabled the setting. First reboot is supposed to take longer as the apps are prepared.

Unfortunately, my Nexus 5 did not recover from this and was stuck in a boot loop. Logcat showed a bunch of mm-camera errors.
I don't know how to switch the runtime back to dalvik. I can see the phone is loading libart.so, and if I could switch back to livdvm.so it might recover.
If anyone knows how to do this, it might be helpful to others.
I'm just going to restore the factory image to get the phone back.

That's the post I read originally. I asked about it in the comments there too. Looks like I was the only one with that problem. I had some weird FCs on the camera this morning, and I'm stock (well, rooted), so I wonder what's different about mine that made it not work.

After flashing the system.img I was able to boot and ART was enabled. Whatsapp was FC on me too. I went back to Dalvik.

I am using ART and everything is working properly and is super snappy. I am really excited for this to be fully integrated and optimized :good:.

I flicked the switch to ART and was amazed at the speed improvements. I have only come across one app that would crash (asphalt 8). I am leaving it on, and if developers want me to buy their games, they better expect to support ART.

Would it be wise to uninstall everything and re-install the programs with ART. Or does it do that for you?

I switched to ART a couple of hours ago. Didn't need to reinstall anything.

ART does it all for you.
When you enable it will shut down your phone, then when you restart it will compile all the apps as it boots, this can take a few minutes and is battery intensive so make sure your phone has a good charge before you make the switch.

Yes, a trial would definitely be of benefit to you as developer and to potential customers. Google Play only gives 15 minutes for return - that is not enough time to try your app and troubleshoot if it does not work for some reason.
Also, unless things have changed, you can only return a purchased app once, that makes it just about impossible for someone to "try" your app a second time after you have fixed a bug, etc.
A trial version would fix this problem.
Perhaps mirroring is limited to so many minutes of mirror time a launch or a day.
Regardless of how you limit it, I believe it is critical for someone to be able to install your app and see the mirror happen or not happen on their device before deciding the pay for it.

I personally like the Free App with Unlocker model...
I get to try the app and if I find I want some of the other features I buy the unlocker.
Not sure that model works in the case of the Mirror app because it pretty much just does one thing but perhaps a Time Limit could be implemented that the unlocker would shut off.
An App like this is going to have varying degrees of success since the hardware varies so much...
But I think the main thing stopping people from buying it is they are waiting for Google to release their free Mirroring support.
So I would concentrate on all the other versions of Android that Google may leave out in the dark (appears thats the goal of this app).
It's not unusual for a Paid only app to sell slow until it gets some press and a reputation in the community.

I would like one. Any kind of trial would be fine.
I saw in the other thread that several people with my phone weren't able to get it to work. 15 minute window isn't long enough. Plus I want to see how smoothly it does different things. It looked a bit choppy in the video. What I want is to be able to stream my NHL gamecenter onto the Chromecast from my phone. That is the holy grail until they release a damn Chromecast version of their app.

My vote is for a free trial. I've looked at this app but Google's 15 minute window just isn't long enough.

Yes a Trial Is DEFINITELY Needed!
Option 1 - Like what most VPN do, Give a 5/7 day FULL Trial of the whole app.
Option 2 - Like All Cast - Koush app, - The free version is limited to like 5-10minites of mirroring only.
That would definanlty interest more people! Goodluck!

Same here. 4.4.2 Slimkat and CM11. Doesn't work.
Connection is fine. Mirror doesn't work.

I believe this app requires root...I know it asked me for Root Privs.

Free trial works for me but paid version doesnt.

New firmware now offers to register one handed thumb print.

I just deleted my prints to set them up again, and noticed that you are now offered to set up a one handed thumb print.
After setting up my prints again my thumb is registering much more accurately and I can swipe faster than before too.

Just the general usage of the phone seems faster, but that could just be psychological because of the new update
The main advantage for me was the fingerprint scanner as I was having a lot of problems with it before.

I am eager to try out the improved fingerprint sensor, but my phone doesn't recognize my print for some reason and i forgot the alternate password lol.

Oops. Maybe a factory restore will sort out the problem if you don't mind going through all the hassle of setting up your phone again. I had to do it once to sort out a wifi bug.

Yeah I did that, I don't think the firmware installation actually worked, I still have a white music player
