Hi guys....I have a Bravia without the wireless adapter. Can I view my phone screen on the tv through the internet. I can connect the TV through the ethernet port (wired) so can I use the internet to view whatever I am seeing on the phone on my big screen? Also can I use my phone as a bluetooth keyboard/mouse to input characters on my TV. I have a bluetooth adapter. Are there any apps that can do this. I searched all over but couldn't find anything. Some came close but not that close like the Sony media app for the phone. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TX

you can stream media. i dont think there is a way to mirror the image. do you want it kinda like airplay mirroring for the ipad and apple tv?
If I understand correctly, you want to view your HTC phone on your Bravia TV screen, right?
I assume your TV's browser is Android based, then you can run a VNC server on your phone, and use your browser on TV to view the phone.
Our app, VMLite VNC Server, can do that:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vmlite.vncserver&hl=en
If you want to control the TV, I don't know if you can install app to your tv, if so, you can install the vnc server on your TV, and then run browser on phone to view and control the TV. This way, the phone looks like a keyboard.
Hey guys,
I own a ps3 and a sony bravia TV. So my question is, how do I use the ps3 controller(wireless) on my xperia z to play android games on my tv ? (I know it is possible with the xperia s)
Help would be great. Thanks.
Sixaxis controller app
Sent from my Sony Xperia Z
Get Sixaxis Controller on your phone. (This does require root if I remember correct.)
Use SixaxisPairToolSetup on your PC to overwrite the bluetooth mac adres the controller will be pairing with.
This movie may help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTbc2Se5S3A
Should work fine with the Xperia Z, tested it a week ago.
Now waiting for my Moga controller to arive.
Kind regards, Stefan.

Okay, thank you. I will root my device.
No problem at all.
Also note if you want to play PS3 with it again, hook it up to your PS3 using the USB cable,
This will overwrite the adres so it can pair wireless with your PS3 again.
Kind regards, Stefan.
Hello everyone. Week ago I've became a happy user of Xperia Z1, and one of first things, that I've tested is a screen mirroring, as i have a TV which supports miracast and has an option to Enable\Disable DRM support. It worked flawlessly. Yes, there was a lag up to 500ms, but for me that's OK. Then i've updated firmware to 4.4.2 and lost ability to stream phone's screen on TV. Changed many firmwares, including customs, but no luck. Connection dialog opens both on TV and Z1, but terminates automatically with message, that TV does not support HDCP. I can stream audio\video\photo via WiFi, but not phone's screen. As i understand, HDCP is a protection, wich allows to run DRM-encrypted media. And my TV should be able (and surely was able) to stream it. Just tested same feature on Xperia C with my TV, it works. Have anyone seen such problem, or knows a way to disable HDCP on Z1?
I imagine you have unlocked your bootloader?
I am not 100% sure but you said the connection depends on DRM keys; you lose these when you unlock the bootloader.

Nice one, but miss. My bootloader never changed, as i used only firmwares, not kernels. And first mirroring didn't asked for keys or something, only permitting dialog on TV screen.

MHL fork for me too, but it's really more comfortable when there's only phone in your hands and picture is on big screen.

True. I will be glad if someone know how to fix it so I will know more about it and maybe I will test ti too to understand if that working on UB.

I had the same issue before, on my SAMSUNG SMART TV with my XPERIA Z1, the solution, I just updated the TV's firmware and there you go, screen mirroring worked!
I'm on STOCK KK .757 by the way.

Prefer the DLNA and the Throw system or use a MHL to HDMI cable
The HDCP is just painfull and broken.

Yes, tried that too. My Phillips TV found and installed update, Samsung TV found nothing. But nothing changed, Phillips shows in connections menu, Samsung not (i think Samsung TV simply does not supports miracast)
Just found pack of patches for other android phones, which fixes screen mirroring. It's said, that screen mirroring stops working after rooting, and patch disables HDCP completely. There's a patch for Snapdragon 800, which i just applied, and got a confirmation, that it's working, but with opposite effect- screen mirroring service stops with error. So all we need now is to change patch (file /system/vendor/lib/libwfdsm.so) for xperia (and maybe some others) devices. Or it's pretty possible that screen mirroring will work if we just replace current libwfdsm.so with an older version, which surely works. I'm ready to run experiments on my Z1, just need that file from older firmware.
any update from this issue? I got the same probably after 4.4.4 update.
I have a Z1 and am having the same HDCP issue with a brand new Microsoft Miracast dongle.
According to the Sony support forum, Sony has updated to the "Latest" version of the HDCP standard and all these other devices are on an old version.
Sony is paranoid that we are all going to steel their content. Apparently they don't realize that this lack of compatibility only hurts hones customers,
the thieves already know how to get around these systems.
If anyone has older software I would love to try the option above.
I hate having to open the USB port every time I get into my car, I just want to cast the screen to my AppRadio. Sony should have made the magnetic charge port also support magnetic MHL out.
Apparently 5.0 will solve this but for now we are all stuck on 4.4.4 or older.

Hello, I´ve acquired recently an used Xperia Z1, I know I can use MHL to output video to my TV but I want to do that wirelessly. So I want to know before I buy a miracast adapter if the phone supports simultaneous screen mirroring (over wifi direct or miracast) and mantain a wifi internet connection.
An example of what I want to do is to screen mirror the phone screen on my tv while I stream a movie over WiFi and have the phone near my couch so I can pause, skip, etc... and control the movie with the phone in my hands instead of having to walk over to the phone mhl connected to the TV.
I ask this because I´ve read that the xperia Z can´t do it and couldn´t find if the Z1 suffers the same issue.
No native english speaker so please forgive the bad grammar. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that's what called Miracast
I'm don't know about TV, but I test my Z1 to connect Lenovo projector, it's works really well with Miracast + streaming from Youtube :3
Just make sure, your TV support Z1 Miracast, since I need update Lenovo projector software, so I can connect it with my Z1.

Thank you so much for your quick reply, I plan to use a EZcast adapter/dongle connected to my TV hdmi port, I would like to know if your Lenovo projector was connected to the internet too (maybe a Wi-Fi capable projector?) Or if you were using an adapter/dongle connected to the hdmi port in the projector. Thanks.

My pleasure :3
Hmm, you can test that, since Google Cast use the same way :3
Eh, it didn't connect to wifi, because it's used by miracast, I'm afraid my projector didn't capable to do that ( I didn't test it ), but you can switch to connect to your router (if you need update the software or you can also use your router for streaming like phone> router> projector ).
I'm not using any adapter, since the projector used in built Miracast and wifi too.
You should test your adapter first, for compatible test :3
