It's called HTC Locations and used DLC
is a re-branded version of Route 66, requires a license to be purchased after the included
30 day free trial has expired. After the trial period is over voice turn-by-turn navigation can be
purchased from within the application. The exact cost varies by country. In the UK the pricing
is £3.99 for 30 days, £17.50 for a year or £26.99 for an unlimited license. Speed camera alert
functionality can also be added at a cost of £1.99 for 30 days or £5.49 for a year.

I'll give that miss.
Who pays for sat nav these days? There are loads of free apps that are very good. Co pilot, wase, google navigation to name a few.

I use TomTom and Sygic as both play well with the PGPSW speed camera database, which I get updated, free, each week.

So I have gotten my one free TomTom map and now I need some more maps. The only option seems to be purchasing the full $149 DVD version by mail? That is terrible, they should make city maps available for purchase and download at a reasonable price, like $10.00 per city or something. So is my only option to spend $149 and wait for them to ship me a DVD?
I just ordered, from Amazon, the US & Canada DVD for $92 plus shipping. Mind you it's used, but it's rated at very good by the seller who is an Amazon subsidiary. Unless the DVD is scratched, it should work fine. I'll take my chances and see.
That's another option for you.
Where did you guys get the software for TomTom? I looked on Amazon and it was $143 for the software plus maps.
He mentioned that he got it used from Amazon. If you look at product pages many times they also list sellers selling used items as well for various one-off prices.

I guess I was speaking more specifically regrading this post "gotten my one free TomTom map" -- I just wondered where they even got the one free map? It seems to insinuate that they got the software for free???

The kaiser comes with an applications CD with a 'taster' version of TomTom 6. Taster means a full version of the software and the right to download one city map. The other maps you have to pay for. They can be downloaded from the TomTom site. Some have reported that it is easy. I made a trial run - not having yet received my kaiser - and I found it to be doable but not staightforward.
I'll have to find out why I don't have my CD - thanks

Check out the unboxing video if you haven't already seen it.
http://mobilitysite.com/2007/09/htc-kaisertytn-ii-video-unboxing/
It shows all of the things that come in the 'official' retail package. Ours should all be like this one as as far as I can tell they are all coming from the UK right now.
I should be getting mine on Thursday and it is a wonder i have any fingernails or hair left ;-)
Maps only DVD
Guys, here's a link to maps only DVD on Amazon.
Hope this is what you're looking for.

Woah, finally a big time gps for android
I think the entire rom would need to be ported but perhaps the garmin app (?) could be brought over.

$20, really? off contract?
I just want the garmin navigation software, I have a garmin gps and it rocks.
Garmin/tmo is gonna want to get off of all that stock at some point in time... there isn't a demand for it and they haven't sold too many... it came out too late and overpriced..
If you give it time walmart will have them for extra cheap or some internet site..
is the navigation app available for our g1, offline navigation is someone no app currently offers and is considered huge for those of us w/o data in our plans.
Yea, just asking, but is there a port for it out there?
Bugger me, magazines.
play store shows magazines as option. Buy magazines.
Magazines. In the UK. Get them.

iknow i was part excited aswell...kinda wish we would of got google sound search and google wallet tho...

I took out a free trial on the Android magazine, and it's rather good.
https://play.google.com/store/magazines/details?id=CAowq9HnAw&feature=my-library
I don't think there is much we are missing now in the UK. We have the full content set, and if anything, more than the US (as we have scan and match on Google Music...)
Every magazine I go to on the Store states that 'This item isn't available'. I am using a rooted N7 with CM10 and the Play Magazine app installed.
How much are the subscriptions?
And whats the difference between subscribe and purchase?
Does purchase get the specific mag, whereas subscribing charges you automatically everytime a new issue is released?
Whats the advantages of subscribing?
THANKS!
Android mag is 32quid for a year sub ,normally in paper 52 + the mags by them selves are 2.99 as opposed to 5 quid !! Can't lose !!!!!!!

Great, but that would only make a saving of £2? For buying a year.
I'd rather just buy episodes that look appealing than save £2 and have to have them all.
Because if theres 2/3 issues I don't really enjoy, thats another £6.
Although I agree that buying on Google rather than paperback is a win win.
Probably a silly question but, if I subscribe to the free trial, download the magazine then cancel the subscription, do I lose the downloaded magazine?
On the other hand, why don't I just try it?

+1 to this.
And additionally if you get the trial, once the trial has ended does it prompt you or does it just automatically start your subscription?

Don't know but I would strongly suspect that the subscription would start automatically without warning.
I have been caught out many times 'trying' various things this way and these people know that!

I believe it holds the money for the trial period, and if you don't cancel, then money is then taken...
If you purchase, it's just that issue (in which case, take a free trial, read it and then cancel), if you subscribe, it's all of them. I'm guessing you can only try each magazine the once....
I did a trial subscription for the Android mag and it shows:
Android Magazine - FREE_TRIAL You will be charged £26.82, plus tax, at the end of each 1-year billing cycle, starting on 11 Jan 2013.

I am confused. Looking at Autocar for example it is showing as £2.99 a month (its a weekly magazine) or £99.99 for the year.
Aside from the fact that it is £89.99 a year direct from their website, why would you go for the yearly option?
I just paid 32 quid for the year for android mag as opposed to 50+ quid to me that's not bad !

I have signed up for the 30 day trial for the android magazine. It is a good read but there is only 13 issues so I don't think it is such great value. Also with Zinio you can get the same subscription for £27.49 for 13 issues which is 15% off the cover price. The price is £32.99 from the play store. Worth the trial but that's it!
I'm using a standard stock nexus 7 and getting the same response

The first Nexus 4 that I purchased was using a vpn and my debit card issued in my country (Dominican Republic), I used to enter the google play web from my pc using the same vpn but one day i forget to turn the vpn on and for my surprise, when I went to the google play page I had full access to all the content like apps, movies, tv shows, music, magazines, and devices. Ever since I had been able to purchased a few more nexus 4 to friends.
At the same time my Play store (in the phone) got full access too. I don't know why nor how this happens but I totally like this. I have asked many friends to enter their play store to see if they had access to movies, books and such but they only had access to Apps and Games.
I FEEL LUCKY!
As for Google's Music service, I know it can be bypassed to work any place but lately I have been reading that some people couldnt use the new All Access service because they were in unsupported countries. I tried to subscribe today for the free trial and boom it works perfectly.
this is me been lucky or there is an explanation to this?
thanks.
Did you shipped the N4 to an American address like I did?
After I purchased the 2nd N4 for my colleague, Google assumed that I am either an American citizen or live in the States.
Since then I have also full access to the play store incl working wallet.
Funny part: I tried last time to download a localized application for Taiwan, Play store told me that this program is not available in my device country.
And this is only for 1 Google account.
Logged in with a second one, application was available.
Cheers

Reporting that everyone who bought a Nexus 4 through the play store in Colombia can also access the us store without the need of a Vpn, including me. I haven't tried the music thingy because I don't care about it, but I guess it should work.

nice! that is exactly what i did,,
also I gave a giftcard to my girlfriend like 1 month ago, and after redeeming she had access too.
She had a galaxy S2.
Google is no more using IP address to get the country of user. They stopped it about 3 months back. Since you used to use VPN to connect Google thought your country of origin is US and since now they have stopped checking IP's it doesn't know you are not from US.

Do you know how they are controlling it now!? I'm able to enter the american play store by using Tor Network, but as soon as I log into my account it drives me back to brazilian play store and I cannot conclude my purchase.
Thank you for any help.

Excellent, I'll cancel mine a month before in case there are other promotions later on!
I was unable to add the 6 month trial due to having the service in the recent past. But since Google has enable users on the phone, I created multiple Google accounts on the phone. Ultimately after setting each of the new accounts I was then able to use the 6 month trial on each. I actually ended up loading one of the accounts on my wife's note 3 so she has 6 months now, hahaha.
