Get back default wallpaper/skin - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do you change the bottom row of apps? Used to be able to drag them out but that only copies them now!

Open main app drawer first.:good:

You have to do it within the app draw . It took me a while to figure that one out .

Thank you guys, that worked a treat!

Re: Change main icons
Would you believe that the manual for the phone is actually stored on it in PDF format? I knew there had to be a reason it shipped with Acrobat Reader

I noticed this too and came to the forums for an answer, however I found my own answer.
I believe it's related to the apps with data stored on your SD card. When your phone boots up it takes awhile to check the SD card, by that time it's already checked for the icons for the programs in your games folder.
A quick solution is to hit the personalise button, then the first option marked Scene, change the scene, change it back and you get your icons back without having to drag them back out
Had the same problem, for me closing the folder and reopening it solved the problem, but it is a pain!

You can also reload your launcher as well. If your HTC Incredible S is stock, just kill HTC Sense. It will restart automatically.

Custom Ringtones for Contacts

Am I missing something? Can I not add a custom right tone to a contact? I just switched over from my Droid X today and I came across this issue.

I believe the way to do it is if you open the Contacts app then click on the contact and when it shows their info, hit the menu key then select options and it should then give you the option to set a custom ringtone for that contact.
I've tried that but the only choices that are available are the stock ringtones that came with the phone I'd like to use an actual song from my music library as that contacts ringtone.

I noticed the same thing! I like to have different songs for different people, i don't want to be limited to the lame generic ringtones, i want Beck and Death Weather and QoTSA!
I just upgraded from a Droid X today and I able able to add custom ringtones to contacts then now on DB it doesn't seem to give you an option to do that I'm surprised

Might try adding the music files to a folder named "Ringtones" on the sd card. It worked for my portal 2 ringtones.

Files placed into: /Internal phone storage/media/audio/ringtones are usable as ringtones. If the folders already exist, just move your files there. If the folders aren't already there, you can use the pre-installed Files application to create them. From with the app, click Menu then New Folder.
Then do this keeping in mind that it needs to be done from the View Contact screen, not the Edit Contact screen:

I figured it out: I opened the music app then long pressed the song I wanted as a ring tone. The go to the contact select options and when the list of ring tones opens looks for the song title and hi-light the song done. Thanks to all of you for helping!!!!

I had some songs and alert tones that I put on the external SD card, and the system found them and added them to my list of available ring tones without me having to do anything.
have had no issues with custom ring tones and alerts.
Thanks. That also worked for the notification ringtone.

I guess this is just another method that works again I'd like to thank everyone for there input

Check out "Rings Extended" in the app market. Once installed it operates in the background. Assign a ringtone as normal, but when you do you get the option to use Rings Extended. It will let you choose any music on your phone.

[Q] titanium backup messed up icons question

I used titanium to backup all my user data and apps. I also noticed titanium had an option to move all my apps to sd card, so I went and did that. I also deleted backups for non installed apps.
One of these three operations seems to have removed the icons for some of my widgets/shortcuts on my home screens. Some of the icons say "Problem loading" and I can not click on them.
Is there a way to fix this?
Remove that icon and drag again the widget to desktop?

I would but its like half a dozen icons and i dont remember what they all were. I just did a restore all. That made me install all my apps again. Still did not fix the problem.
I guess I'l lreplace the icons manually once I need them and remember what they were.

[Q] HTC One - Can't Change Dock Apps?

Hello everyone - first post!
My One arrived today, like some of the lucky few it seems, and I've just been trying to setup the apps I want to be present on the dock. However, I cannot seem to edit these? I can move them around, but when you drag them off the dock, it creates a shortcut on that homescreen, but the app "re-appears" again on the dock?
All I want to do is replace the HTC stock browser with Chrome on the dock, and add Mail in place of the camera, but this no longer seems possible?
Anybody have any ideas, or am I just being stupid in missing something obvious?
Any help appreciated!
Cheers.
Try to do when the app drawer is open

Correct you have to do it, while app list is open.
Thanks, that did it! :good:

What do I need to install to get facebook back onto BlinkFeed?

I got rid of it thinking I would never use it because I didn't have a facebook but last night a couple friends made me one (long story) and now I want it back on BlinkFeed. So what things do I need to pull to get it back? Or if someone could post the files for me that would be great but not necessarily needed.

Pull down on blinkfeed like you're refreshing and you'll see a tab on the left side pop up, hit the three dot menu there and you can add sources. Add facebook.
It's not there because I've removed it all.

Explain removed...
Do you mean disabled through the stock android method or did you delete the file using a root method.
