Hey guys! Well as the title says...is it possible to use i8190 kernel on L version (i8190L)?
I've seen around another thread a guy who was using i8190 kernels on his i8190N (NFC version) without problems...i would try it but i want to make sure if my phone can be bricked or something like that :silly:
Dont think it would hard brick your phone.. Maybe a soft brick were you would have to reflash csc, code and pit files via odin...

Repartition is supposedly going to wipe all data on your phone, but it's also a death button that makes you ODIN freeze and making your phone not boot up

It repartitions your filesystem. Lets say you installed CM which uses ext4, then it will re-partition it back to RFS (stock default).
so when you using stock rom you haven't to select re partition but when using custom rom with different system layout and wanna go back to stock rom you should select re-partition
Edit: guide here

Sure. Mentioned many times, this is another download mode.
Just fully charge your tablet, like 8hrs.
Connect and launch Odin.
Once Odin detect it, quickly flash away with stock Rom.

can u provide me a link to CWM installer?
I make a mistake by flash via odin CWM for tab 10.1 p7510 wifi tablet into p1000
then odin stuck and i removed the cable
Good luck.
Btw is this a P1000 you have? If so, I would recommend restock using overcome gb stock safe v5.
Link is in my signature. Get the pdf guide and start at page 7.
Once the restock is done, you can flash overcome kernel using Odin, also in the guide.
After that you will have cwm recovery.

Hello all!
I have a pretty basic question to which I didn't find a precise question.
Recently I tried to follow some "How to's" to root my S5839i.
Surprisingly, none if the HT to 30i worked on 39i.
Are these phones substantially different to justify a dedicated developing subforum?
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda premium
Those phones are the same
ROMs for S5830I work on S5839i last time i checked
Ok. Then why does this sticky root to S5839i won't work?
There might be some differences that affect this basic hack
I manage to root S5839i following this

I have a GT-S5839i and i installed ROM for GT-S5830i about 4-5 months ago and i have a good root recovery package and it work fine on my phone when i had s5839i or s5830i
Thanks for your quick answer but I strongly doubt that my phone is that unique
There might be another explanation.

If you have a s5839i and you already rooted phone you have lost warranty. To bring back warranty you must reinstall your rom which currently use (for example Czech Rep. Vodafone or Poland T-Mobile).
If you install s5830i rom to your s5839i i think is the same if you rooted your phone BUT i can to wrong about that. But whats a problem to install s5839i rom if you have s5830i rom .

As far as I was aware you loose warranty for the SOFTWARE not the HARDWARE eg: faulty speaker, overheating cpu or pcb faults etc
You can of course re flash with ODIN using the PIT file to repartition. Use the stock rom your phone came with from samfirmware.com. It would be advisable to make a NANDROID backup of your current rom to restore before doing any rooting and/or flashing.
This is what I wish I had done but I learned from experience.

Don't do this unless you are on Safe kernel. If you do this on Stock ICS Kernel you could very easily Brick your device.
Flash a safe kernel like Philz and then perform any wipes (if required)
