Cannot Mount Internal SD Card - Motorola Droid Bionic

Hi, I'm (obviously) running a Motorola Droid Bionic XT875 on Verizon, with the latest CM-10.1 nightly because there is not a release stable for targa yet. None of the apps on the system can mount the internal SD card, they all either insist that I should uplug my device from the computer, or insert an SD card -- the Bionic uses an internal SD card.
I'm using SafeStrap (per CM instructions) and CM is installed on the Rom-slot-1 (CM warns that it will not boot if it is installed in any other slot, and to no surprise this is true).
I've tried flashing AOKP and LiquidSmooth and they both have the same issue. In CM7, there was an option to tell the OS to use internal storag,e but I can't find that in 10. I've searched and searched and cannot find a solution.

Mount SD Card Grayed Out

I have tried and flashed many different TW ROMs in the past and decided to try out some of the AOSP and CM10.1 ROMs. With PA 3+, Asylum and Revolt, all of these ROMs will not allow me to mount the SD Card, when I go into settings, the 'Mount SD Card' option is grayed out. But if I use a file manager with root access, I am able to access all of the files on my SD Card in Storage/SDcard1. So I know there is nothing wrong with the SD card itself as I can browse to it and use it. But I just can't mount it so I can use it as a UMS. So here is what I have tried so far and in all honesty, I am out of ideas.
- Format sd card (FAT32)
- Partition sd card with minitools and tried via CWM
- Tried a different sd card (tried a 8gb sandisk)
- Tried it on different roms, it works perfectly fine on a TW ROM.
- Tried using the app USB Mass Storage, USB Switcher and paid for Stickmount Pro (still does not allow me to mount)
When I tried using USB Mass Storage, I get an error message that says "No partition found", however, I know it is definitely partitioned properly.
So anyone has any ideas that I have not through up of yet?
I have the same issue. Have used the latest stable Asylum and Slim Bean ROMs and nightly kernels.

ROMs without SD Card?

Guys, I don't have a micro SD card, and I want to change my ROM, the stock one is very very slow.
Is there a way I can do this? All ROMs seem to need a SD card to be installed...
And which ROM do you guys recommend?
Thanks!
Hello,
Unfortunately you cannot install custom ROMs without a microSD card. In other words, you need an SD card, else you cannot install custom ROMs. This is so, as you need to flash your internal storage. You cannot flash your internal storage, when you need to access a file (the ROM) on the internal storage. Sincere apologies about this, but an SD card is required. You can pick them up for cheap from eBay.
I'd recommend you install CyanogenMod 10.1.3 (stable) and NOT CyanogenMod 10.2, as this is nightly and not ready for daily use. CyanogenMod is one of the only perfect stable ROMs. Again, I recommend CyanogenMod (CM) 10.1.3 which is Android 4.2.2. Here is a guide for installation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317500
All the best.
Why do I need a card?
First time I've seen this, all other devices work just by putting the ROM on the internal memory and using recovery to flash it!

The Nook is not like some other devices. You MUST use an SD.
The reason is you cannot flash ROMs with the stock recovery that comes with the Nook. You must use a custom CWM on SD.

[Q] cvm recovery can't mount sd card

i installed 10.1 and upgraded to 10.2 on my nook hd. I downloaded the cm 11 recovery and cm11 rom and gaps to my nook to upgrade to kitkat. After i downloaded the cm 11 to my nook, the updater took me to recovery. i installed the cm 11, but then had problems. I realized that I was using the cm 10 recovery , and should have installed the cm 11 recovery before I attempted to flash the new rom. I then wrote verygreen's sd card image for cm11 and it did boot into recovery. when i tried to install the rom, the device said it couldn't mount the sd card. i tried using the cm 10 recovery image and that didn't work either. same message, couldn't mount sd card. I then formatted cache, data, boot, did another wipe and same issue. currently, it takes a long time but the nook hd will boot into cm recovery, but same issue about not able to mount sd card. I checked similar threads for other devices, but I couldn't find any solutions. I called barnes and noble customer assistance and they were totallyuseless. My question is how do i get recovery to mount my sd card?
ditto
I had the same issue on my nook hd-
When I wrote the image to the sd card- I could boot in to CWM 6.0.4.6, from that sd card- but it could not mount the sd card, or find any files on it. so I couldn't flash the emmc version. When I pulled that sd card out, it reverted back to cwm 6.0.3.2 (which worked fine with cm10.1) but again, it still can't find the sd card.
/sdcard is the internal sd and while is mounted and navigatable, it's blank and there's nothing to install from it. (is there a way to copy to it from some other device?)
the other option is to install a zip from /storage/sdcard1 but that does nothing but pop up
E: Can't mount /storage/sdcard1
or
Error mounting /storage/sdcard1

I've been following and using the info in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600572
I've used both a linux machine with dd and a windows machine with Win 32 disk imager for flashing images.
I've tried a variety of file systems (does anyone know what is the preferred file system for a grossly oversized micro sd card for CM11?).
I've tried to find a newer better version of CWM, and have found references to a 6.0.4.5b but haven't actually found the files yet.
have also tried sideloading with adb, but the device is never found. with either version of cwm
Would be ok moving back to cm10 as well, but as long as it can't find a SD card, I don't know how.
love this little device, would greatly appreciate any assistance.

after much banging of my head against the wall, I discovered that if i let it boot to the 6.0.3.2 on its own, it would let me mount the sd card that had the initial image written onto it.
So i loaded the new cwm zip and flashed it.
pulled the sd card out and had to let it reboot on its own 4 or 5 times before it popped up emmc CWM based recovery 6.0.4.6
..which then let me mount the sd card as /external_sd and I was able to flash the latest cm11 nightly (yes, I'm a glutton for punishment).
I've pulled the sd card out and rebooted...
AND IT'S BOOTING!!!!
...this is awesome.
Success
i changed sd cards and downloaded the recovery, rom, and gapps on the new card. Recovery was able to mount the new card and I got everything installed. Initially recovery aborted the rom installation, so I downloaded another cm10.1 and was able to flash it. So everything is good now.

Internal SD Card Unmounted

Hey, My i9000 is running the latest PA 4.3 Beta 2. I tried flashing Semaphore along with it, but all the time it shows that the Internal SD is unmounted. This is the issue with the other Kernels too! The SD Card is only mounted with the stock PA Kernel, otherwise the SD Card mounts in any ROM.

[Q] Nook Tablet HD+ (Mokee 4.4.3) not detecting external SD, can't download anything.

I just purchased a Nook HD+ today and flashed Mokee 4.4.3 to it, but I am having a problem getting it to detect the external SD card, this would not be an issue but I cannot download files to the internal SD. If anyone knows a solution to this, please help.
I am using the 6/13 build, and yes, the SDD card does not mount.
If you reboot with the bootable SD card you made for the initial install, it will boot from the SD.
I recommend clearing cache and data after rebooting from SD, then install the M4 SNAPSHOT build. This has been working fine for me for months. I tried the M6 SNAPSHOT when it came out, too many crashes. Stick with M4 for now.
Just installed the 6/18 nightly. The SD card problem has been fixed.
