I am using the 6603 model here in Canada, where most providers has 2600 Mhz LTE support. But I can only get 3G to work. This is what I found so far attempting with two different providers.
1) one of the providers cannot even find 4G when I do a network search, another can find it's 4G LTE access point, but cannot register to it
2) APN are set properly
3) LTE is selected as prefered already on phone
4) we have tried 4 different Xperia Z 6603 units and none of them will get 4G
Any thoughts on this, any additional info needed I can provide.
Thank you everyone :crying:

I'm interested in importing a 6603 myself. It could be that the radio software in the phone isn't set up to connect to just the 2600 LTE band. I know users of other phones have had to flash a different baseband in order to connect to their desired band frequency. But I have no clue. Just spitballin'. I hope someone figures it out soon though. It would make the decision to buy one much easier.

I know, but it doesn't mean the phone is natively ready to use that band on its own. For all I know the baseband on the Xperia Z connects to two band frequencies, one for upload and one for download. I have no idea why it's not working on Rogers LTE out of the box. Hopefully it's just a fairly simple software fix, but I can't say for sure.

I've sent a tweet to the guys at MobileSyrup. They are very knowledgeable. Hopefully one of them has an answer.

I don't think Bell/Virgin uses the 2600 LTE band, so you're out of luck..
Looks like our answer is here:

Ordered a one on march 17 but now i am reading that some people in Australia can't get the phone to work on the 850 band....my network says the following ( Device must be compatible on LTE AWS (1700 MHz) or LTE 700 MHz bands, or UMTS/HSPA compatible on 850 and 1900 MHz bands. See your device user guide for information about network compatibility.) .... I wonder if i should just cancel....
This is for Bell mobility in Canada btw.
Thanks

Bump??

It's the EMEA model specifically that is causing troubles. The ASIA version is fine so it's not a problem with all of them.
It's been confirmed that 850 is not working now on multiple networks. while the australian network in question DOES work on its other bands (uses 850+2100 3G, 2100 is ok, 1800LTE is ok too) so definitely not any network blocking or whatever.
If you've ordered from Handtec/Clove/euro resellers, I would probably be very careful right now... if you've ordered locally or from US then you're probably fine.
Yeah i ordered from handtec.....should probably cancel my order i guess

I'm having that issue. I got mine from handtec at first I saw the E and was like Wtf so I started playing with apn and the network modes I'm in fort Lauderdale Florida btw so by changing modes it connects to H or 3g but I noticed that after connecting to WiFi and leaving WiFi most of the time was going to Edge again. So today I try wcdma only and it's been connect it to H or 3 g since I did it earlier. I need more time to really confirm this tho.

Any updates on the fix?
I was playing around with my T-Mo Z C6606 for over a week.
Yesterday, I decided to flash it with new rom 10.3.1.A.0.244 Generic ES.
I rooted it and it worked properly.
After reading a post about enable LTE in Canada, I decided to flash my Z with C6506 baseband.
Everything is going good and it shows my Z now supports LTE_BC1, LTE_BC2, LTE_BC4, LTE_BC5, LTE_BC17 while stock rom only supports LTE_BC4 for T-Mo LTE. AT&T LTE is LTE_BC4 and LTE_BC17.
However, my Z is still not picking up LTE. I also read that I need to call at&t to update imei to make it connects to LTE.
I called them and they added my Z imei but so far, it is still not picking LTE signals, only H+.
I am not sure if ZL baseband doesn't work with Z or something else.
I appreciate your comments.

I did research and know that t-mobile use band 4 (aws or 1700/2100) for LTE, while at&t use both band 4 and 17 (700) for their LTE.
My Z is now showing it has both bands 4 and 17, but it is still not picking up LTE.

OK, it's ZL baseband issue. I just put t-mo SIM back in and it is not picking up LTE either. I reflash back stock baseband and it picked up LTE right away.
I may have to wait for someone with C6616 would like to create ftf and upload it.

C6603 LTE doesn't work in the US with both t-mobile and at&t. However, you can try flash it with C6606 baseband from t-mobile. It may work.

Can you trying flashing the tmobile model with bell canda firmware? They use lte bands 4 and 17
wolf0491 said:
It works only on one of 3G bands of ATT. Take a look at the map to see if where you live is working well with that band. When I travel I get awful service in places with this model but where I live it works pretty decent. If you have a c6602 though I belive that is pentaband and should work on every 3G band.

How about flashing a C6602 or C6606 or even C6616 would that allow me to get at least in hspa+ service on att or t mobile? Or can't I change the bands on the phone with flashing a different model ftf?

I did and only found out C6616 on Bell doesn't have Band 17 either.
I have downloaded FTF of C6616 on this forum too.

Mine is also factory unlocked, but I paid for it. You can check your service configuration by enter a combination key *#*#7378423#*#*
You should only have LTE_BC4.
Without LTE_BC17, you can't pick up at&t LTE.

I am not sure if they have changed their procedure for what phones they allow to use the LTE bands, but from what I read you need an imei of an AT&T branded phone to get them to change your plan to allow LTE access(doesnt't affect the price of your plan) , then you may use a different phone provided you have the proper apn and it supports AT&T LTE bands(which you are uncertain of at this point). Does your AT&T plan online say it's the LTE plan? I currently have the developer version of the HTC One and people had issues getting LTE access on that phone (this phone definitely has AT&T LTE bands) and people had to resort to using a imei of another AT&T branded LTE phone in order to get access to LTE. I previously had a ATT Galaxy Note 2 and when I got my HTC One I just popped the sim in, never called them, and have been fine since.
Yes, I have 4G LTE Plan on my number as it was on my previous Xperia TL AT&T version.
I also did call them and request to add my Z IMEI and they told me they did. However, I couldn't get LTE so far.
One more thing, I also can't get t-mobile LTE with C6506 baseband firmwares unless I reflash it with stock t-mobile baseband (LTE_BC4 only).

AT&T LTE working with C6603 in Southern Cal area atleast.. not in Northern Cal
ive looked all night for another thread on this and didnt find anything.. So with that said i have a T-mo C6606 flashed to C6603 .. In Northern California no Lte in Southern Caliifornia it worked great... So i attached this screen shot as proof.. I chatted with att about it and they said o got lucky and att might be experimenting with 1700 towers down in SoCal but in NorCal its all 700 towers.. I tried flashing the C6506 baseband only now shows LTE 1,2,4,5,17 before only LTE 4 haven't been back to SoCal to retest yet.. It gets 11+ mgbs download speeds in H+ which is find but if there is a will there is a way.. Is there anything i missed? Also this Is on AT&T..
Can you post service info from *#*#7378423#*#*?

C6903 has following bands: LTE 800 / 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600 - C6903
Does this mean we can use C6903 on AT&T 4G LTE?
Only in areas with band 4, which is very seldom for att
does anyone know where the c6906 model might be available to buy?
or if anyone has one for sale?

I know C6903 runs LTE for T-Mobile and the C6906 runs LTE for AT&T. It may depend on what LTE bands AT&T uses for your area so you'll want to check first.

The site may state that, however, it is the C6906 model. The model in the US Sony store is up for debate though, according to their website, it's the C6902 model but that doesn't make too much sense. I guess Sony really doesn't want to market this phone in the US.

I have been having problems getting LTE on my phone and I think I have found the cause. Apparently there are two models of this phone, the D5803 and D5833. I have read the the 33 model is for Asian markets and 03 is supposed to work for US and Euro markets. Is anyone using the D5833 and succesfully getting LTE to work on T mobile?
