[Q] Zeus vs IZS - LG Optimus Black

Hi,
Which rom is better: IZS 0.4 or Zeus 7.06 in terms of battery efficiency, smoothness/speed and stability?
Even though IZS is based on a newer android version, for some reason it runs games much worse than as GB roms did.
P.S. is there any Jellybean-based stable rom that is better than IZS/Zeus in your opinion?
Thanks in advance.

There is not a better ROM for OB than Zeus 7, only the UI is not the better one but performance, battery consumption and camera/video quality are the best for our OB.

Yeah, i totaly agree with you :good:

Ok, thanks to both of you. I downgraded my ob to zeus 7.06 and my phone feels really a way smoother.
P.S. Who has given to my thread rating of one star and why? that's really insulting..:crying::crying:

I think Zeus is more battery friendly and fast than IZS, but, there is always a but, i´m still wainting for a kernel for IZS (v.30c!) that makes me change this opinion, because the only thing that proved to work well on speeding IZS it´s Android tweaker pro, but again without a good kernel theres no miracle. cheers mates....:highfive:
As far as JB roms, for me still bugy, i stopped trying. For now i´m all IZS.

Simplicity Rom vs. Darky Rom?

Which rom is better? Performance wise and battery wise?
Any input is great, even on other roms.
Thanks
Darky is always better in my opinion...!
Its much stable , faster and of-course longer battery life..!
Darky's rom is always the way to go
Indeed, like the person has said above, it's fast, it's stable and the battery is quite good depending on what you do
is darky rom dark night rom

NO. Darkyrom is gingerbread and dark knight rom is ics

Darkyrom is indeed great. Everything works perfectly, it's fast, stable, and has great battery life.
Haven't tried Simplicity. I tried CM7 though, and felt that Darky's had better battery life and performance. This was about 4 months ago though, things might have changed a bit.
Can some1 post a quadrant benchmark result on darkyrom please?
A very nice ROM which is stable, good performance, with a nice theme. But there is no ICS at this time.
The highest benchmark I ever got with darky 10.4.2 was in the 2800's.

Nice bullsh1t scores, I got 3145 max on stock XXJVS

I need a hell of performance. And your help.

I need some advice:
I used Ramhack for a quiet long time now. The negative point of loosing performance for 3D-Applications (Games, Benchmarks..) is comprehensible and in my honest opinion totally acceptable. Next to the Optimus Speed I have a Dell Streak 7, where gaming overall is less complicated and I gain much more performance with this tablet (how ever..). So, you can see, is the p-990 aimed for my everyday use. Every day use means smooth, quick response, less random reboots for me. I need every freakin second my tools need to boot up, close applications, etc...
I want to do quick calls without a tip on the Task-Killer-widged before.
Currently I'm on Nova HD ICS. I really enjoy it, so I would prefer to stay on this rom.
So my big question:
Is there a way to get Ramhack on the Domination rom? Or maybe do you guys have other options for me?
I love this rom, so I really want to stay. But I need a hell of performance. Gaming is well placed on my tablet, so we dont need to take any consideration about it. Even if I need to type 3 freakin pages of code into the terminal. It's ok. I need speed and smooth response...
Thanks in advance!
You say that you love the ICS rom you're using, but assumes that it doesn't have the performance you need, right?
So, basically, your question is : " is there a way to make CM9 as faster as CM7?" The answer: no.
ICS has, by nature, a heavy hardware resources demand. I've tested a couple of CM9 roms out there and they're all fast at first sight, but the multitasking feature isnt performing right. Because our device has only 512mb of ram. So, that means you won't be able to alternate between 3~4 apps instantly, just because the ICS itself already uses a big part of your ram. You can try the V6 Supercharger for ICS script, but I do not believe it will magically turn your cm9 into a cm7.
Unless nvidia/lg release the hwa drivers for ICS, if you want a rock solid and ultra fast device you should use CM7. I recommend Temasek's unofficial builds, they're just awesome.
Cheers

You could just flash a new kernel. There are some CM9 kernels that offer the ramhack option. Cool.guy is right though. CM9 is slower than CM7 because of the missing hardware acceleration etc. Just use Temasek's latest CM7 build. Fastest ROM I've ever used!

For me non-oc kernel is good but its your choice for which kernel your battery live longer and experience smoothness

I was wondering how battery life was on CM9 compared to Zeus. Thanks
It is preaty good on ultrasound rom.
But i don't really now show it is compared to zeus
And I think that it is almost same as with CM7.

[Q] JB ROM with good battery life for Galaxy S?

Hello to everyone.
I believe the post title is self explanatory. I'm running a Jelly Bean ROM which works quite well (though not perfect) on my Galaxy S but I have to say that coming from a previous GB ROM, the battery life seems rather poor on this one.. do you know any JB ROMS that have a fairly good battery life? And if so, could you post the link to it?
Thanks
I am sorry but poor battery life is a price that you have to pay for having the most recent Android version in a phone that otherwise will be stuck at GB.
Having said so, I must say that the JB stock rc13 v2 from elitemovil is not too bad regarding battery life

Thanks for the reply even though the truth hurts most of the times ! I suppose Galaxy S3 should be a better choice, soon!
Actually "Jelly Bean" and "Good Battery Life" aren't compatible
Battery lasts 30-40% less on both my SGS III and the original SGS (I keep using it, it's still a great secondary phone!) with jelly bean, compared to their original OS versions
JB is damn smooth, but it won't last a day of heavy use.
Just use GB if you want good battery, and if you want ICS, Slim ICS is ok, but still far from GB in terms of battery efficiency.
I am using CM10 latest nighly (20121001) and battery life is like never before! You should give it a try
I like this one

They solved so many problems so far, I am sure this one will be covered very soon also!
Depends...
But my phone'ss battery lasts earlier in JB rather than GB.
On the other hand I'm using my phone as a backup. No mobile-signature is working in any CFW.
No advance...

I couldn't install the CM10 because of an error, but I think it is normal that you recharge your phone daily. specially if you surf too much.
X-Bean 2.0....Amazing ROM, great battery life.
Another thread where people post the roms they use
Surprisingly I find that the stock cm10 kernel has better battery life than custom kernels.

What I read at the CM10 forum is that the 720p recording works fine. The problem is with stock player. If you use other player or run the recorded video on your laptop/PC there is no problem!
I managed a 1% battery drop over night in airplane mode with the jb from signature.

Tried all JB releases, didn't like all of them, also on my Galaxy Tab 8.9, just a little bit laggy
Might I suggest to try f4k ROM, it's an ICS release and on both my and my girlfriend's SGS it runs incredibly good. It will last longer on a full battery than any other GB ROM I tried. In our cases it makes our trusty SGS's run about 20% longer and it's faster (feels faster anyway) accompanied by the Holo launcher. Rock stable as well, much more stable than the original Samsung stock ROM.
Good luck
Im on the latest Helly Bean and the battery life is a lot right, not the best at all. But I love Jelly Bean so I don't care.

I'd read through the first post from Huexxx. He explains much.
I'd say 7.06 is better if it operates well on your OB.
I've using 7.06 since long time, but few days ago I begin to use 6.4, and everything is fine in both of them, but in my case I recommend you 7.06, cuz the kernel I don't know why but I have a high battery consumption in 6.4 than in 7.06, and sometimes my phone doesn't go into deep sleep, performance and battery is better in 7.06, but before some usage both of them begins to lag, I think is normal in every ROM but it makes you think that you need a task manager. The best opinions always will come from your experience, but IMO 7.06 is better.
