Need help installing...

Hello everybody, I just joined the site recently and absolutely love it.
But I have a question... I just updated my software on my Kaiser to Windows Mobile 6.1, and my question is... How do I get these zip folders to be accessible so I can use the new features?
I'm not too sure if I'm supposed to extract the files some place or place the zip files in a certain folder. If u guys can help me, I'd gladly appreciate it.

By Zip Folders? You mean CAB Files?
Just google for Installing CAB Files

Which Zip folders are you referring to? Are you trying to access zip folders on your phone?

These zip files. and i can access them, Im just not sure how to use them as an actual program or layout or whateva

Those are Skins for PocketCM, you have to install that and unzip the file into the themes location in PocketCM.
Installing themes varies depending on what they are for. Have a look on the PocketCM website for more information.
I suggest reading the thread's and posting in there if you have any problems, because as I said before, each theme is different. (Probably why I don't use them that often )

If you have WM6.1 it should be working.
You can check the Wm version in Start>Settings>System>About.
If not, there is a tweak to enable / disable it. Download and install KaiserTweak or Schap's advanced Config. And have a look for the option.

How to install cabs?

I know its a stupid question but i cant find out anywhere how to install cabs, i tried searching XDA forums but no luck. I am trying to install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=485037 , i placed the cab in application data , where do i place it? Thanks

just place the .cab anywhere on your phone then go into file explorer and tap/doubletap it.. thats it..

u copy the .cab file on ur phone.. .doesnt matter where... and just open it then with ur X1 (File Explorer or TC)... done ^^ not tht complicated hey

This isn't really a rom development question, and beside that, have you tried this?
I don't mean to be rude, but this is the most basic thing in windows mobile. It might even be on the Help section of ActiveSync or Window Mobile Device Center......

Just copy the Manila files to windows folder on your phone
And dont forget to download your language file if u use Panorama Special..!
I Copied that straight from the page, NisseDILLIGAF typed it in red you can't miss it.

How to remove "PDAVIET Special Edition" ...

Hi,
Great Windows Mobile 6.5 ROMs provided by PDAVIET via haree, especially v26!
I have to admit that it was a little annoying to see the "PDAVIET Special Edition" every time I turned on my phone and I'm pretty sure some of you do too!
To make it a little easier to remove, I've attached my very first WM application, "SetVersion26.exe", which you can just extract and copy to your PDA.

Ok ... Sorry, still finding my way around this forum. I'll try and find the PDV thread.
Extract the "SetVersion26.exe" executable from the RAR archive on your XP/Vista/Win7 desktop.
Copy "SetVersion26.exe" to anywhere on your WinMo PDA (Memory or Storage Card).
Launch "SetVersion26.exe" it directly from WinMo via File Manager and follow the on-screen instructions.

the app did not work for me. i tried 3 times. regedit worked.
anybody know if it is possible to remove the blue ''PDA viet'' logo in about system page, under windows mobile 6.5 professional. i dont like that look. the rom should be kept clean.

i am looking for a current version of the windows phone version of WhatsApp.
I could not find anything via Google or on XDA, so I would appreciate if someone could pull the whatsapp cab or xap file from his windows phone and make it available here.

Sorry to bump into this old thread .. but could some1 please upload v2.0.0.0 Xap ...
Reason being that WhatsApp is showing Incompatible on all custom roms i install on samsung focus ....
Cant install from Marketplace please some1 help me out.
I got v1.1 wud hav been better if i get v2.0

No...this is the older version...the newer version seems to be more buggy and ppl want to revert to the old one.

Tried ver 2.0 and 2.8
Ver 2.0 works faster and better.
but does not have a background agent registered .

I tried to download whatsapp xap using Phone7Market today. It downloaded the file succesfully, but something seems to have changed, I can not open the file as a zip file any longer, not using 7zip, not by changing the file-ending...
Did Microsoft change to encrypted apps yet?
Don't they need to update the devices to do that?

Direct download from apps.marketplace.windowsphone.com doesn't download xap file but some strange html file...

Yes and yes.
Microsoft enabled PlayReady on all XAPs from the market now, they're encrypted. They did update the devices for this - Mango added support for PlayReady. So far it was just not turned on in their server side.

looks like Neonode N2 has "Windows Mobile 5.0" not "Windows Phone" OS.
you could check this link "whatsapp.com/dl"
perhaps the whatsapp.com will advice smth.
