please help No Market app

Sorry for being a noob, i have the g1 dream sim free, it has 1.5 on it it has no market app. and when i hard reset it does not ask me to register but comes straight to home screen with clock
base - 62.41s.20.13u_2.22.16.17
kernel - 2.6.27.00205-gf2dabco [email protected] #15
build - 125040
how can i update this device please help.

I think if you know your kernel etc. you have root rights, am I right?
If yes, just flash the google apps. You find the link in the cyanogen 5.0.7 thread.
If not, I don´t know what you can do

not sure what right i have, m looking for the goole apps .. but is there a market app which can be installed, thanks for your reply by the way. though i was lost for a bit

I'm confused...so did you fix it?

nope have not fixed it yet. seems like its a original dev phone but it came boxed brand new. in the mean time, the data sync does not open
and
system update gives the error - com.setting error or something like that..

However Gapps is not an .apk file. You need to flash Gapps with the help of a recovery ROM & for that you need to have Android SDK installed. If all this is latin and greek to you; you should visit here

I would also suggest you to go through ROM Bible sticky in this section.
Alternatively you can unzip gapps file and look for marketUpdater.apk in system>app folder and install it manually. I have not tried this method ever but you can give it a shot; it will not brick your phone.

Thanks for the answer guys, i think i have a dev phone had a look at the rom bible so i can root i . but i dont know what rc versoin the device is cos this does not exist in the build number as in post one. also can you recommend a stable rom update for a beginner.

at amitabhishek the first link you have posted does not work, also is there a way to root a dev phone, or is it already unlocked dont want to try a rom and brick the phone.

Ok, im trying to update with Greek rom, and everything goes well untill KDZ updater part.
I set a path to .kdz file, everything starts, and i get this:

Do you have drivers installed? Also turn off "LG Modem" in Devices Manager in Windows. It helps sometimes.

you dont need windows enable i use the english version and dont need windows enable well i dindt need it but sure i will @ it gonna update 2day cuz rooting on 1.6 and 2.1 are diffrent so need to fix it also a2sd found out sometimes it crash

You should give credit to arekl1988r at modaco. You are using the script made by him.

The rooting method for the 2.1 os was found out by me :

You are using other people's findings as your. You create an exe from these jobs.

Its a call manager app..like put a phone number on Blacklist if you don't want to pick up...
or if you reject someones call..it sends a text saying why and all....

try again...I have successfully installed it on my full rom unlocked HD7. The only problem once the app starts is that I see nothing else but Chinese.

Would be gr8 IF translated.....
If someone translates it to english. It would be a awesome addition to the phone.

After installing..how do I access it ?

Normally, like every other application - from menu. It's called "Call Manager".

I got it...there was some installation error...So at first it wasn't listed in the Programs List !

the call manager does help me
I have used the call manager for one year. And I remembered there are two versions on windows phone. And I will open the quiet model after 11 o'clocks. It does help, cuz my sleepness was often broken on midnight.. But the call manager has a bug, that is, the refuse call function effect a bit delay.
That's my using experience. I hope this will help you !!

theres no official ROM because there hasn't been a need for Samsung to release one and because very few people have this device which is an amazing device, its not been leaked either
Tell me, what do you mean by you have installed a custom ROM 8779? that OS version isn't available to us, we have only 8773 from MS
To my knowledge There are no custom ROMs, there are no official ones, there are no OS dumps, there is no access to use the download mode, or change the bootloader, there is however limited access to the diagnostic mode, parts of the EFS, parts of the RAM and several other low level areas of the device outside of the OS

yes, its my focus s , i bought it on taobao(a famous Shopping website in china )
its with custom rom(8779) when i got it.
you know some developers made the custom roms for sale(maybe just in our country)
i cant get the rom , they wont share them
i cant upgrade my phone too (the wp 7.8)
so i want to rollback
the other way to upgrade my phone is send my phone to the dev
my English is poor, maybe there are some mistakes. i hope you can know what i say

very interesting, and your English is fine
there are three possibilities
1, Its faked, its so easy to change that info screen
2, its real but they didn't install a custom ROM, they have gained access to the 7889 CAB files and updated the OS manually
3, its real and they updated the ROM somehow
if you would mine could you try and dump the ROM, using QPST Here
its not easy to use and don't ever hit any buttons marked "write" if you want to help ill type up instructions, but essentially you need to make sure the SPC is correct, then download this, then put your phone in to diagnostic mode using the diagnostic tool, add the COM port to QPST and connect to the phone, click start clients, then software download, click multi image, then fill in where you want it and click start, your phone should restart in to a download mode and after that I don't know what will happen, to get out of the download mode you just unplug and hold the power button until it turns off.
ill write a more detailed guide if you want to help

my mobile phone is a Samsung Focus S, already tried, but did not find any CAB for the update.

To stop the Demo demonstrations, you have to install ROOT WP7 TOOLS.

Then in explorer you have to go to the Startup folder (windows\StartUp) you have to create a new folder and copy all files except RetailDemoService.lnk.
Then in Registry, you have to go to shortcuts folder (Local Machine\System\Explorer\Shell Folders) and change the StartUp file, change the value data from \Windows\StartUp\ to \Windows\StartUp\new\.
After this restart the device.

Hey Dazza, I wish you guys the best in finding a way to develop a custom rom. I myself am trying to help get custom roms for my Dell Venue Pro. Anyways, I have this Samsung Focas S that has a demo and I want to disable it as of Ricardox6 instructions. I just did the windowsbreak, but I want to know do I install now that XAP Deployer or can I just jump straight to the wp7 root tool?

Any way or program which allow to download rar files on the phone directly ? Cus its so annoying i have all my files in rar archive and cant download them on the phone.

Thanks, will read now . Nothing helped me . Pfff, symbian can unrar rar files, windows can`t. I am a little disappointed . I hope the devs make something. Any other OS can do that easy and smooth besides windowsphone7....

UCBrowser downloads RAR, then access device memory with USB Tethering app for PC, or WMDC. Those are the safest:angel: options Ive seen so far.

I dont want to use any other device for unrar. I want to make all only with my phone . Thats the problem. Any other OS , even S60V3 can unrar files, i am wondering why this one can`t
