Hi all
Really loving my HTC One. I like the keyboard and dont want to change it, but it has one annoyance.
The keys on the keyboard popup when pressed and I cant find the option to turn this off. Does anything one if this can be turned off?
Thanks,
Adam
Just use a 3rd party keyboard cause AFAIK there's no way you can remove that unless you mod the keyboard apk. which requires root and a developer interested on what you want.

How do I disable the phone style keyboard, and only have the proper 123/qwerty one, in contacts the keyboard changes to the 3 press phone one, but on other apps is the proper wide one?
touch keyboard changes its layout depending on what app you are using i think.
Can't really answer your question though.. lol sorry :O
I'd still like to lock, or remove some screens.
This bothers me too. I've tried playing with all the various XT9 options.
It would also be nice to have the HTC Touch keyboard work in landscape mode with out having to slide out the keyboard
is there any way to ALWAYS use the touch keyboard? no sometimes the touchkeyboard and sometimes the touch T9 keyboard?
bothers me too... I want to use the keyboard that I can see when there is nothing to type... but the keys are big enough and seperate from each other...

I've gone back to this, even though it is a bit unstable.
Gyus a long time i didn't play with the SXL. But today i tried to install some keyboards and i find out that i can't turn them on. I tried settings etc. but there stays always the stock one.
Is there any way to change it or not?
Thanks

Well, i use swype from the original 2.2.2 FroYo stock ROM from Dell Streak, the first keyboard i ever used on Android and i still like it better than others, i install them in the normal way, go to settings, activate them, and after that, when you are in some writing, check the notifications, it should be a notification for keyboard, tap that notification and it will show you a menu to select your desired keyboard
Thanks man. I never did notice that notification. Also i was satisfied with my stock buttons . I wanted to try the new nexus 4 keyboard.
I'm not sure why android continues to so this, but why can't they allow for long press options on the keyboard? My phone keyboard shows the numbers as long press options at the top, my tablet does not.
The only long press options on the keyboard are punctuations.
Is there a way to fix this? Use phone keyboard on tablet?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I wonder why that is as well. I looked through all the keyboard settings and didn't see an option for that but really would like to have it.
Try the Swype Beta keyboard (google it). Numbers are a long press.
Not really interested in swype or any of the other keyboard options. I like stock functions the best, just curious about the long press buttons missing in tablet format.
Personally that's the reason why I use stock keyboard on my Tablet. I use Swiftkey on my phone because it's quick, and the Gingerbread keyboard isn't as nice as the stock Jelly Bean. I really like how it isn't cluttered and is just clean.
Although my problem seems very simple but i can't find a solution through my phone settings. Whenever i press a key on my Z1 keyboard it pops-up on the screen. I searched in my keyboard settings for something to disable this but unfortunately i couldn't find any. I really like the interface and simplicity of the stock Z1 keyboard but this thing is making me really frustrated specially during chatting or sending a quick email. So is there an option to disable this that i couldn't find?
Thanks in advance.

Swype cant be turned off, I tried too, but couldn't find anything. You can disable suggestions by holding the Swype button in the bottom left corner of the keyboard and selecting options, in that menu there are the prediction options
in settings there is "next word prediction" and its off. But we still see words prediction above keyboard... Ill try some aosp keyboard, any advice?
I had the same problem. in the end i downloaded a AOSP like you mentioned and I no longer see predictive words!! yahooooooo
I and unsure why huawei made the phone like this. Other than that its an awesome phone
Why do you say you cant remove the Swype option? I chosc gboard and the swipe button/icon dissapeared. Anyway I now have this prediction issue. Really a pain in the neck. What to do? AOSP? What is it?
