How does the game klip feel with the 7, is not a bit top heavy and unwieldy? I have a case that doubles as a stand so it's cool sat at a table but awkward sat on the sofa or a bus/train without a table so I'm quite tempted.

Will a ps3 controller from other brands or even the really cheap ones work well? Or only the oficial ps3 controllers will work?
Thanks
I have the smaller Moga Mobile controller and it works well, its one of the only controllers that gets official game support too. They just came out with a new model, the Moga Pro, its a regular sized controller and I bet its pretty good. Same price as the Moga Mobile also, $49.

Ps3 controller all the way. Especially when your emulating ps1 games.

I have an idroid:con that is specifically designed for android and iOS... works pretty well
Wait and buy OUYA
for 99$ you can have game console + controller
PS3 gets the most usage. On my MK808 Android stick, there is no Bluetooth, so I tether it with a mini USB cord, but pair wirelessly to my N7.
I have a MOGA too and its cool. That's better for my Galaxy Nexus though.

I'm kinda meh about all those. Even the dock, with no HDMI or some other connectors I don't see the point to it.
I'm unhappy with the cases out now and if this case is slim enough and has magnet lock and close and some sort of stand mechanism, I'd pay 50ish bucks for it. The cases out now are pretty good for their ten dollar price tags but I want something nicer.

It's called business strategy. No HDMI out on the device or the dock means you have to by the Q. Stupid, yeah, but business wise, that's how the game works. Why put in HDMI when we can charge them $300 to stream everything?
I would love to purchase the Q, but I just spent $200 on this tablet. I bought it because I wanted something cheap yet good (which I got). The only way i'll get the Q is if someone else buys it for me (HA!) or I win it in a competition (....HAHAHAHA! Yeah, right, I NEVER win anything, lol).
But yeah, so there's your business reason for no HDMI.

POGO wouldn't support HDMI anyway, not enough pins... besides the whole point of not having HDMI is that you will be able to do it wirelessly.
Should start seeing this very soon using WiFi direct and the Miracast protocols. The hardware is already there to do it in the Nexus 7

I've been starting to game on my Note II and I am starting to dislike using my thumb on the glass to move around on games like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 where there are controls on screen. The heat on the screen + screen protector makes it feel uncomfortable. Has anyone seen any joysticks that won't take over most of the screen.
I was looking at the logitech one:

Thought about that but I can't really carry a Ps3 controller with me to work nor do I know if the game is actually compatible with it.
Try the Moga controller. You can find it here
http://www.powera.com/moga
I've used a PS3 controller with an adapter but I prefer the Moga. nice that it uses AAA batteries too. Has its own app that points to games it is compatible with. Works with Body Glove TPU case too.
It costs $49.99

i just bought the Moga yesterday and can recommend it for causal gaming - i'm not a gamer much if at all, but when i'm at the airport or something (main reason for buying it) i'd hate to cover up most of the screen trying to play a game...
hopefully i'll get a chance to post a video review shortly - I'm on the fence about buying a controller specifically for phone gaming, but the price was okay (30% coupons available for tmo stores on 4square)
I don't see a ps3 controller being more easy to carry as the Moga is small, very flat profile, aaa batteries are easy enough to come by, and the built in clip is nice since the GN2 gameklip is yet to be produced... if you're rooted (pretty much a neccesity for either controller) the Moga will work similar to a ps3 controller.
the main thing to note is the ergonomics of a ps3 controller are much better overall, you have a dpad vs just an analog stick, but again, for causal gaming, not a bad solution

So is only for certain games not like the PS3 which you can use for pretty much anything?
How hot does your screen get? Slightly warm or is it actually getting really hot? You also could try a glass screen protector if yours isn't and is that annoying.

I've been enjoying my games using an XBox 360 controller. I've had OTG on other phones, but haven't been able to use the controller without a powered USB hub. This device has a big enough battery to power the controller on its own! So much fun!

how do you enable this or what app do you download
There's no apps to download and nothing to enable. Just plug your game controller into an OTG cable then start playing.
I'm not using it with games but I am using it as an ext SD card for music and such. Especially while at work I download so much on my phone then transfer it to a flash drive then use the otg cable and flash drive and plug into my Nexus 7 that's installed in my truck dash as the head unit video player navi. Works great.

I have purchased several things on aliexpress and never had issues with their products or services.
I already wasted money on one gamepad so I bit the bullet and ended up buying the Moga Power Pro instead. On sale at the moment for just under $50 so it's still cheaper than the Samsung Gamepad.
I bought the ipega 9025, only 23$ for a full fledged controller and works perfectly with Dreadhalls, Herobound, Protocol Zero and navigating through menus.

Just a heads up this tiny micro joystick actually works great with Samsung vr very Impressive.
Was looking to get a gamepad and was wondering what other people were using. I know the sony line has support for the ps4 controllers is that a better option then say a moga hero controller?
Anyone do android gaming, do most games support the controller anyway?
Thanks
I have a PS3 controller that works perfectly on my z2 tablet via wire or wireless. I've played around with the x compact and can get it to work via wire (that was plug and play) but it wouldn't do wireless (although if you're rooted it's probably doable).
I have used both a Moga Hero and DualShock 4 (with added cell-phone clamp) with my Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia X Compact. I did also use a DS3 with the Z3 Compact, but that support has since been removed and pairing it required a cable while the DS4 pairs easily over bluetooth.
DS4 gives native support for Remote Play, which the Hero does not. Balance is better with the DS4 as well thanks to the grips to counteract the weight of the phone. Also the D-pad and buttons are great on the DS4, while the Hero is rather mushy (not ideal for pulling off special moves in fighting games) and shoulder buttons are cramped (not great for FPS games).
Where the Hero excels is greater portability and battery life. It's great at both of these. It easily fits into the pocket and has a large battery. There is a companion app for using the Hero with certain games, but it also features a mode that works with any game that has native gamepad support.
Either one could work, so it depends on what's more important to you. DS4 will give you Remote Play and is a solid controller for any game with native controller support. Hero will fit in your pocket and give you long battery life.
Personally I wish Sony would just make a more pocket-friendly DS4 to pair with their phones. It would help fill the role that the Vita will be leaving for Remote Play and as a portable gaming system, yet not require much in the way of engineering to accomplish (compared to another dedicated handheld). But that seems like too much to ask for.
I use the icontrolpad myself. A compact controller that easily fits in a pocket, has analogs, plenty of buttons, and an adjustable lock arm to transforming the phone/controller into a portable gaming station.
