Very low Quadrant score..... - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I've been trying out some custom roms these past few days since I got sick & tired of the performance on official Samsung JB.
I've tried out sweet rom, angry rom and am now on asylum, but I am getting very low quadrant scores. When doing a fulI benchmark, get around 2300 which is much slower than what other people get.
Could there be something wrong with my phone?
Thanks,
Look forward to hearing your replies.

Quadrant score doesn't relate to anything with daily usage.. If your phone is doing good and the quadrant score is not good it's not a matter to worry about.. Just enjoy your note

But the reason I switched from the stock rom was due to sluggish behaviour. So there could be an issue?
I'm running a CM10.1 build now iirc and it's very smooth. The difference is night and day.

Stock rom was full of bloat that's why the performance decreases if you have removed the bloat from stock rom then you had a very smooth rom otherwise cm is great stick to it

yea dude i love that phone
I'm at 2350 on the stock Bell 2.3.6 firmware.
Rooted and debloated but no overclock.
single core
This may be a stupid question not sure im pretty well versed in android anyway quadrant standard only shows one core on system info anyone know why? Is this normal?
Mine is 2332 running SteelDroid 4.0 with not a lot of debloat done to it.

Quadrant is pretty garbage imo. I keep seeing videos on youtube of 2 phones starting quadrant at the same time, 1 phone finishing 5-10 seconds ahead of the other but still losing the benchmark #'s with most results (fps in the testing) appearing the same. If it was decent the faster phone would always get the higher benchmark, 2 phones render 1k frames, phone 1 in 10 seconds, phone 2 in 20, fps on phone 1 must be higher... etc etc I'd try maybe smartbench or glbenchmark

I've started using antutu benchmark since it breaks the score down and allows you to run custom tests

If you're looking for other benchmark apps with other numbers I found this thread where a user posted a list of benchmarks on an optimus 3d (basically same hardware as our phone) after installing an optimus 2x performance tweak. Good for the list of benchmarks and numbers for you to compare, thread is here

[Q] 1780 MHZ overclock for galaxy note query

hello, xda people,
i am new in XDA and this is my first post. And it is a query about some Antutu scores where i saw galaxy notes clocked to 1780 mhz, 1768 mhz, etc; greater than the 1704 mhz i see on roms like rocket rom and romow rom. I am really new owner of galaxy note. I would appreciate some explanations. Thanks in advance.
Does it make a difference? The 1.2GHZ kernels for the ICS leaks are plenty fast enough, and honestly if you try underclocking your max speed to say 500-800mhz...you wouldn't even be able to tell the difference. Half the reason stock Galaxy Note feels so laggy is the painfully slow animations...but maybe that's just me.

I don't know...just don't understand what difference some 60hz would make?

Top benchmark scores?
thanks for the response, people.
i am just wondering if there are other roms or kernels that have higher clock speeds, or may be it's an ICS thing. lags will always be there even with high clocks. but i am wondering ( just saying) gadgets like PSP, which i had many years ago never had lags even if it was on CF or custom kernels or whatever those stuff were. I hope the laggy experience we get in the note will really be fixed to appreciate some sick animations or what not. well anyway, thanks a lot.
I cant even get over 1600 with AbyssNote
Whenever I get it more than that with SetCpu the phone works perfectly but as soon as I try a benchmark (Quadrant or Atuntu) my phone freezes on the cpu 1/8 part and I have to restart it... so how come you guys can go all the way to 1.78 ?
I am using rr22 and abyss note 4.2. My note can be set at 1704 MHZ. apps like games play very smoothly but of course battery saps fast. RR22 is a great rom. The highest point i got from antutu is about 7900, with abyssnote 3.9. I think abyssnote 3.9 is good, but i wanna try BLN that's why i installed 4.2... quadrant always crashes on my note. mate, it's just uberclock. overall performance on decent battery life is still the beast.

Benchmarks / Quadrant scores

Does benchmarks and quadrant scores really that important?

Ultimately - I think not?
If the phone feels quick, and it runs your programes then i would not worry about benchmarking... But if it feels slow and sluggish, then i would try out one of the many benchmarking programes out there, and see if there truely is a problem...
I have tryed it a cauple of times and found that my note ran perfectly well, and that it was I whos was mistaken..

They are good tools to tweak your phone as long as you know what look for but of course one single benchmsrk cannot tell the whole story so I use a combination of benchmarks and applications that i am familiar with when evaluating rom/kernels or overclocking settings.

It surely does make no difference if you score high or low. What matters is that you should be satisfied with ur phones performance.

what i really noticed is that the memory and I/O scores are kernel specific and the more scores you have the more fast the operations on ur phone becomes..
i personaly have achieved highest scores of I/O using notecore /hydracore
This one is really not important. Haha.
Leave this app eversince I bought my notes.
As long as smooth, good battery life, what else u need?
U win nothing even if ur benchmark higher from others.

[Q] best rom for galaxy s?

yeah these questions has been here before and finally i degraded to post one. I've been using same ICS rom for 4 months until it just crashed and could only go to download mode. Well now the problem is that i been away from xda developers forums and i've fallen behind on everything, seems jellybean is new thing now.
Well i'm heavy phone user and i do gaming and lots of other stuff with phone. If someone could tell me what roms are stable, fast that i can overclock to play a bit heavier games, and got decent battery life.. oh and got cameras and stuff working too. i hate when only 50% of the phone is working
I know there is not the best rom but suggestions what should i look into. Is jellybean faster and better than ICS etc.
Oh and hopefully link2sd works on the rom too because im tired of the small 6gb storage on my i9000 and i got large microSD card installed and im going to use that app to move the games there so i get the extra room.
Thanks for everyone in advance for any helpful information
was going to buy new phone but this damn galaxy s just rocks
I'm actually on SlimBean 3.1 sive a few weeks and I have to say its just Awesome =D
It's smooth, stable and fast as hell on antutu I get 4700 points with 114% live oc and smooth UI.

Damn 4700 on antutu, best i got on old ICS was 4100 points and that was overclocked to point that it was unstable I will definetly test out that slim beam hopefully got time to do that even today. Sounds very good, thanks for the tip KUN1
It seems we should test the SlimBean 3.1 Tnx Bro.
bad post

+1 Slim bean for the winner
Well, I'm using CM10 (Nightly Build), and I'm very happy from this ROM (I think I should upgrade to CM10.1 with Android 4.2.1).

low score in benchmark

Ok so as you can probably tell by title, I have a problem.
I was on stock for a year and then I installed custom rom few weeks ago (aosp ics final by maclaw i believe) and ran quadrant benchmark and surprised. cpu benchmarking took me full 10 minutes and i was getting awful preformance in all other parts and at the end result was 505 (note that when i was on stock i was getting 700-750) and then i thought it's because of rom. then i moved to sgsII v11.2, which should be lite rom based on stock, and same thing, around 550. is this my phone's fault (i mean factory problem), or i am missing some steps during installation, i want you guys to tell me...
P.S. Each rom i install runs smooth as silk, multitasking without problems

Which benchmark app you are using???
In Quadrant on SGS2 JB 4.2.2 by SpaceCaker, I get around 1350, dont know abt ur prob, try Quadrant and tell
I used quadrant, but most stupid thing is that i was getting higher scores on stock than now on custom roms

That is what the Ace should score, it's a low-end Armv6 Device, actually running at 600MHz but factory overclocked, with a crap GPU.
Besides..
