Hello guys, I have a device with no EFS Backup. Baseband says "Unknown" and *#06# brings up just empty popup with OK button.
I have read a lot of threads about this problem, a lot of ways to fix it, but none of them worked for me.
I'm not trying to restore my IMEI, I just want to make network available, even with the generic IMEI (My Carrier doesn't have any problems with that)
Right now I'm on stock rooted 2.3.6 and waiting for help.

Network is not there because of the IMEI. Ideally, IMEI should not have been wiped as you are on stock. But anyways, flash to original STOCK ROM should i get fixed...just follow the link:
- Flashing To Original Rom - Using Odin on GT-i9000
- Flashing To Original Rom - Using Heimdall on GT-i9000

I just flashed the three files in odin, the PDA, PHONE and CSC in the link i gave you.
LINK
Necessary files :
ODIN 1.85
ODINFILES
1.go to download mode on your phone. open up odin before you plug in your phone.
2.Plug in Phone with USB Cable To Computer
In ID:COM it should go yellow and you should see ADDED in the message box
3.Click PDA button and select : CODE_I9000XXJVU_CL851880_REV03_user_low_ship.tar
4.Click PHONE button and select: MODEM_I9000XXJVU_REV_00_CL1092175.tar
5.Click CSC button and select: GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJVU.tar
(don't tick re-partition and flash lock)
When you have all the files needed in ODIN
6.Click Start let it Run.
it will boot up and open recovery and if it has red errors (the dbdata one)
just flash this file as PDA and don't tick re-partition and flash lock. Otherwise, skip these steps.
DBDATA.RFS
To root your device again, just flash this file: LINK (or this file can be found in the OdinFiles.zip). Flash this file as PDA again.
after doing so, my problem regarding missing imei and mobile network were gone.
however, i do recommend reading the thread if you weren't able to understand some things or whatnot.

Sorry about this mess. i'm trying to find solutions for your problem as i wasn't able to encounter it.
Did you by chance ticked on "Phone EFS Clear" ?
Or try flashing another stock rom - after factory resetting in recovery and pulling the battery.
flashed stock froyo - up and running.
No IMEI, No Baseband
==
I rooted it, and when I checked efs folder - it was empty, only .android folder.
I tried to insert another galaxy s efs files (thanks to Cedi0117 for providing them) - set proper permissions with root explorer, restarted - efs is empty again.

Same here.
I've contacted samsung btw - I'm waiting for their reply.
I even told them I flashed via ODIN (warranty is over so nothing to lose)
There should be some way at least to get the generic IMEI.

HI,everyone,
i have an problem about my 'I9000' ,it is korean version and type code is
'SHW-M110S' in krean,
i flash the rom 'jh1' by the tools 'odin',
and select "re-partition",but now the function of mobile is failed,
i can not call and sent sms.
the IMIE code can not be query, display :unknown:,
now i want to flah the korean M110S ROM "DH9",use odin.exe
but always display failed
counld anyone tell me how to do?
if use odin can do,how to set the pararmeter?
if i need to the pit file?which one?if need to re-partition?and so on.
tks a lot
Start Odin, tick re-partition, select 512.pit (do not select PDA, Phone, CSC or anything else).
Put phone to download mode and connect to pc.
Once Odin finds your phone (the first ID window turns yellow and shows COM ID), click start.
It takes up to ten minutes until Odin finishes (Pass! text appears), and phone will turn off automatically.
In Odin, press reset button and untick re-partition.
Remove the battery and insert it again.
Put phone to download mode and connect to pc.
Select the M110S-NPS-IMAGE-REV03-DH09-2002-USER.tar archive as PDA and press start. After Odin completes your phone will be booted and restarted in Online mode automatically.
I know most people flash .pit file at the same time with the ROM itself, but this way is described in Samsung service manual so I personally do it this way.
If your IMEI is unknown sounds that you have wiped your efs folder.
This happens when you select clear efs in Odin.
tks very much
i followed the method to do
but
after 'Select the M110S-NPS-IMAGE-REV03-DH09-2002-USER.tar archive as PDA and press start.' the odin display failed when process :modem.bin;
can you help me again for this problem?
tks and hoghly appreciation
the odin's message as follows:

Hey guys bear with me because I am a little new to android but I pick up things relatively quick. I tried applying a morph theme to my newly rooted and lagfixed SGS and things went horribly wrong. On reboot it spammed force closes so I decided there was no option but to reflash. It is a Australian Virgin/Optus SGS and I found the closest firmware would be DTJG4, got it and ODIN and a PIT file (513) and attempted with no success. It flashes fine but then reboots into recovery with this message-
Update media, please wait ...
E:Can't mount /dev/block/stl10
(invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount DBDATA:
copy default media content failed.
If I choose reboot, it will go past the welcome screen and then just black screen. I have also done a factory reset/wipe.
Any help at all would be very appreciated.
It seems i have made things worse now, I redownloaded the firmware from sams and this time odin wouldnt upload the firmware.

Try another usb port... It should pass that step pretty quickly (almost instant)
I also have this problem...after a search, I cannot find a solution.
Thank you dagrim1, changing usb port got it to wake up again. I also got my phone back up and running!! It seems the DTJG4 requires the 512 PIT file to repartition. I sure did get scared there but taking a step back and reassesing helped me sort that one out. Now back to theme testing!
Hey guys. I have a peculiar problem with my friends Galaxy S. Yesterday, I tries to flash a Jelly Bean ROM from the forums. Straight from Gingerbread, I followed all the instructions to the line and finished flashing.
But sadly, the phone got stuck in a bootloop and is not booting right now. The three button combos aren't working - both download and recovery mode and I was pissed. Thankfully, I had a JIG with me (one I use with my Galaxy Note) and got my phone into download mode.
The problem now is that whenever I try to flash a stock ROM, it gets stuck at the boot.ini file and Odin says "Complete (Write) process failed". The phone (from inside downloaded mode) shows the text "Invalid Bootloader !!!" on the top.
I realize this is fixable but I just don't know what file to flash I am used to the Galaxy Note and the naming conventions and forum posts aren't quite clear to me. Can someone tell me what file I should be flashing to get the bootloader working again?
Thanks in advance!

you need to verify, IF you have an Anycall M110S or i9000, check forv retractable Antenna on top right corner, IF you have one than its an Anycall M110S an usinh i9000 Roms will only make it worse.
If its i9000, check MY Android Solutions link below to identify the exact problem you are having , in using Odin, you normally use only 3 files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881

Do you have KIES installed, if you do, kill all three KIES running files in your system using task manager and try again
This model with I9000GSMH, seems to have this problem, and I am not too sure why it has Anycall boot loader, as only M110S should be using it and the ROM package for it is different with hardware differences. I keep wondering if this model is a Chinese imitation or actually an M110S swiped with and i9000 casing or mother board .
I have come across a few persons having this very same issue on this very same model.
If you want to try using a Anycall Pit and Boot loader you can download from Pit Stop link below or try searching lidroid web site http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://bbs.lidroid.com/ for a suitable ROM package

Hi Folks,
please bare with me I am a total new comer in this forum and new on Android because of my new Phone:
Samsung Galaxy Note GT-I9220 Chinese Version (but no fake it has Android 4.0.4 and was bought from amazon)
I accidentially installed the franco.Kernel .... don't aks me why.... and since then I am in big troubles :crying:
I can not get a USB Connection to my Win7x64 PC anymore (MTP driver installation fails.... anything I tried did not work)
Eventhough Odin does see my phone but after clicking START if shows me FAILED (Odin 1.85 nor 1.87 works) ... and the phone does seems to do anything (not turn black ... as decsribe in the following threat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660012 )
So how do I get back to a "normal" Kernel and which file can I use?
Thanks a lot for looking into this.

PS:
All this issues only have come up, because I actually only tried to get full access to all GOOGLE PLAY STORE apps, but google always (90% of all apps) tells me this is incompatible with your phone ... and under [+] sometime says it can not be delivered to your country China or so...
Are you putting the phone in download mode when you connect to odin? If yes then paste the odin logs.
here the ODIN log for 1.87 but same for 1.85

SAMSUNG Mobile USB CDC Composite Device
SAMSUNG Mobile USB Modem
And ODIN 1.87 recognizes the device under ID:COM yellow 0:[com3]

after START PIT and Bootloader

So how do I first get a new fitting Kernel?

You would better restock your note.
You will need a rom with four files: .pit , .pda, modem and csc
The rom MUST be made for your phone and you may find it in samfirmware.com.
If your phone can't enter dowload mode, you'll need a USB JIG.
Hope this can help.
After reading the Odin resulst, try to flash only PDA as your error is comming from the PIT file.
Uncheck "repartition"
First get a kernel for your phone in tar.md5, and flash it by selecting it in the PDA tab. Don't use PIT for now.
---------- Post added at 03:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:10 PM ----------
Phone has to be in download mode to use odin
Is that the right file: 165512339/c6b85b4/I9220ZCLPL_I9220OZHLPL_CHN.zip ??

Thanks for your adive.
How do I get the right kernel files I have no glue for what I should search for....
Ok I found recently this threat which seams to point to the origínal chinese android versions:
droidevelopers dot com/f479/11859-samsung-galaxy-note-i9220-china-firmware-list.html
which points to the following
CHINA I9220 Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 Firmwares
Download PDA Version Release Date CSC version Country / Carrier
Link I9220ZCLPL 4.0.4 2012 July I9220OZHLPL China
from hotfile DOT com/dl/165512339/c6b85b4/I9220ZCLPL_I9220OZHLPL_CHN.zip =606MB
Is that the right stuff? I am just downloading it.
Thx
Even if you get a whole rom, it's good. Flash with odin without the pit

Please help,
I was trying to root my Samsung galaxy note gt-i9220, I followed the video instructions from rootgalaxynote.com, I used the CWM.Zip, CWM-supers-v0.87.zip and after I installed the franco kernel-r5.zip
PROBLEM: after installing the franco kernel when I restarted the system my note comes on and shows Galaxy Note GT-I9220 and after that I have a black screen.
What can I do to get back the original state, it seems I can not handle rooting it. However it can get to the download mode when I place the volume up+power+home burton.
NB: I did not use a computer while doing this neither did I backup any thing

if you want to flash official stock rom again you will not need 3 files. go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ search for i9305 in the firmware searchbar and download the firmware for your country/carrier and after that flash it with odin. select the tar. md5 file in AP button in odin and hit start. all the needed files are in 1 package!
in odin the boxes auto reboot and F. reset time should be checked and re-partition should be unchecked
odin
not work , pit file defect

already tested with 4 cables nexus 4, original samsung, nokia and new highway wiko
Your partition table might be corrupted. You can try to flash with a pit file.
Search for i9305 pit file, DO NOT USE ANY OTHER VERSION pit file.
Hey dude using philz recovery fotmat every partitions.. u can find it in mount partition. . Than flash via odin

seems like you have messed up the pit partition, my guess is you did this while flashing with odin you had re-partition box checked, which should be unchecked. here is the pit file you need http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...fo-i9305-pit-file-flash-analysis-pit-t1950591
