Hi,
I just run to a problem that i dont know how to solve... after a factory reset my phone it wont start. I dont hace any backups on the phone, but i do have backups of the phone in my computer. So do anybody know how to access the "sd card" without booting it up?
I mean... I need to put the backup.rar at my sd card so that i can restore it via recovery... But how to put that .rar file on the sd card without booting the phone?
Do you have the CMW recovery installed or stock?
With the CWM recovery, you can at mount the storage via USB and do it that way.
i suppose if fastboot is working, you could flash the CWM recovery and then mount the USB.

If you see the main thread you notice lot of people are reporting problems mounting internal storage.. why not keep an eye there...
Or maybe you use the alternate method or putting an alternate kernel the file in /preload/TWRP/
This does not require root, and the preload partition is mounted in the recovery instead of the sd card automaticly.
placing it /preload/ does require root, so go for /preload/TWRP/

also to restore previous backup, you may also flash philz kernel and then restore.
Should be fixed in the latest nightly
kindly advice

If you use root explorer, can you see any of the files? IN TWRP recovery, when you click on "Install", which folder do you see as default.. try to place the Philz kernel zip to that location and flash it in recovery.. then reboot recovery.
can you please explain alternate method

Why is there no OS? Anyhow.. boot into twrp recovery.. connect phone to pc and run adb devices. It should show the phone.. then activate adb sideload. In cmd prompt, use command adb sideload "path or the zip file on pc". this should install the kernel/rom.
thanks

Easy way use pc Odin flash philz kernel. Boot into recover using three button method and restore cwm backup. You will get yellow triangle but that's easy to remove as well. If anybody is going to be flashing any Roms pc Odin and adb is a must have. If don't have a backup or a Rom on your sd card you can flash a stock Rom with Odin.
Experimental roms are going to leave you stranded most of the time and if people are going to flash roms labeled as such then the should learn how to recover from them before flashing

I recommend Odin(PC).
As an alternative, try this, should mount the external SD card.
This does not work if that sd card is partitioned.
Code:
mount /dev/block/mmcblk1 /sdcard/
Hi,
my old system notified, there is a new update available. So i just clicked on download and install, restart and then - the phone boots only to Clockworkmod instead of system. I dont need to click volume down+power. Only power button and it boots to cwm, never to system. So i decided to reinstall ROM - i choose official lg or cm10.2. So installation from sd card was succesfull, but there is the same problem. My phone boots to CWM instead of system. I see only LG logo and than CWM.
Does anyone know what is the problem? Thank u very much (sorry for my english)

You can't install an OTA update on a rooted phone. Best bet is to re-install stock from KDZ if you want stock, then follow the OTA upgrade.
When i have that sort of problems then: try to boot it in recovery yourself and then click on reboot

Did you intentionally ignore my post, or was it accidental? Carrying out an OTA on a device that you have in any way modified the software on (root or recovery) runs a high risk of complications as the OTA doesn't find what it is expecting to.
Oh good to know, thanks. I dont know how to install KDZ, cuz i cant connect my mobile with PC(usb driver installed, but mobile can't be found). I can only install something from sd card.

Ok thanks u very much..
Hello everybody.
I was trying to install CyanogenMod 11.0 for Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 but after getting Status 7 error, I did some research and found out that I had to update the CWM to the newest one.
I updated it successfully from the old CWM and after restart it booted me into the new one. Than I rebooted the phone and since then, it started looping. It doesn't go into recovery mode. Only if I push Volume Down + home + Power, it goes into Download Mode.
I googled but I couldn't find anything that would help.
I'm inexperienced in die-hard tweaking on Android but I'm not a newbie in mobile phones (Proud ex owner of N900).
Please help and thank you in advance

One sure way to fix this is to go back to stock. You said that you can go to download mode. So use odin to flash stock.
Another way would be to use adb to get into recovery, but I don't know if you have access to adb.

I have never used cwm 6.0.4.7. I always used cwm 6.0.4.5 and I had no problem installing CM 11 with this. So what I suggest is:
-First flash cwm via odin (whatever version you find available).
-Then via cwm flash an update to cwm-6.0.4.5.
-Then wipe data/cache and /system.
-Flash cm11.
-(Perhaps flash gapps?)
-Reboot and enjoy (it will take a lot of a time to boot for first time so be patient)
Warning: While using cwm 6.0.3.2 avoid using option "reboot to recovery". This is what will get you stuck in a recovery bootloop.
After upgrating to 6.0.4.5 you should be ok.

It has internal SD mount problems, but not everyone has this problem. For some it just works fine.
Also I think that 6.0.4.7 also has the same problem.
Finally there is a 6.0.4.5 that I've uploaded that avoids mounting internal SD and only mounts external SD. Just for those who have mount problems and still want to install KitKat (because KitKat needs cwm 6.0.4.5 +)
thanks

a few days ago i dropped my galaxy s2 in the toilet(dont laugh) so i went to using my brother's old s plus I9001.
long story short,i tried to upgrade the 2.3.3 to a 4.2.2 Jellybean using this guide : http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/4579...alaxy-s-plus-i9001-android-4.htm#.VAWoGfmSzGA
i searched a few other guides beforehand,most of which stated that i need a rooted phone,so i rooted it using a guide i found on this forum(here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001)
this is everything i did :
1. Connect the Galaxy S Plus to your computer.
2. Unrar the CM 10.1 firmware RAR file you have downloaded
3. Copy the CM 10.1 firmware you have extracted from the unrar file to the SD card of your phone.
4. Turn off the Galaxy S Plus.
5. Reboot the device into Recovery mode. Press Volume up + Home + Power keys simultaneously. You can flash this ROM using the stock recovery or a custom recovery app.
6. In the Recovery mode, select "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition."
7. Then select "install zip from SD card" and "choose zip from SD card." Search for the firmware you have copied on the device.
8. Select the firmware file and install it.
9. Go back and select "reboot system now."
so everything went well, until i tried rebooting the device.im stuck now at the cyanogenmod logo.basically i have a boot loop isue.
being a noob at these kind of things,my first thought was that my phone had bircked,so i followed an unbricking tutorialobviously,it didnt work.
can you please help me solve this bootloop s**t? :good::good:
First of all flash TWRP (Recovery).
Then download CM 10.2 from here and copy it in your internal SD card.
Boot into Recovery.
Do a Data & Cache wipe and finally flash CM 10.2.
