Hello. Some of you may know me as -SlenderMan- however i've given that account back to my brother since he came back from the army.
Now let's talk about bootloader. I have a bootloader status of 'Yes' meaning I can unlock it. However I decided to lock it back and do a full reset of my phone. Now the status says 'No' and i'm unable to unlock my bootloader again. Please help me. Thanks

No I have a Xperia V and relocked it with a ftf I made myself when I used my old account -SlenderMan-

Was there a preset.ta in the ftf?
You may have locked your phone for good, have you tried unlocking with the code you originally had?

I tried unlocking with the code I had but no go. Also I have used my own ftf to lock my bootloader many times and it's fine. Until today...

I'm going to try flash an ftf. See if that works. I think PC Companion might have locked mine up.
Okay I think flashing an ftf fixed it. Solved.

Just out of interest, when an FTF file becomes available, could you then flash it with flashtool on a stock ICS locked bootloader?
Judging by past firmware updates, it's taken 2/3 months for Orange to push an update.
Yes, or you could flash the 303 generic UK and ota to current. You'll then get jelly when Sony says not ee.

I wonder how I flashed my V with its locked bootloader to Xperia VL's firmware using Flashtool, then.
All you need is matching signatures, and all similar models share them.

Sorry but you've got that wrong, you can use flashtool to flash an official ftf onto a phone with a locked bootloader, I've done it loads of times with my xperia's. In essence if your locked to a network orange, t-mobile ect then you can get the region generic ftf and flash it with flashtool to debrand your phone
What you can't do is flash custom ROMs which require a custom kernel.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Thanks for the responses guys, I thought it would be possible, the only reason I ask is that I've flashed ICS firmwares to the T in the past, but wasn't sure with it being a different version of the OS.

Please read before continuing to facepalm yourself.
Flashtool does not require your bootloader to be unlocked. It also does not even you require your phone ot be rooted.
Flashtool can be used on any xperia phone regardless. It does not require fastboot

Not always, there are ways around it. But in general yes.
Once the new firmware hits users with locked bootloaders we will see if we lose root, but then we will also find a way to root the newfirmware or find a way to update that does not lose root.

I read that SUS refused to repair because stock apps were removed. So you should deactivate them instead of removing.

i think you need to unlock the bootloader to install custom roms, so technically if you keep the bootloader locked you'll always be able to repair.
Flashing a phone with a locked bootloader should always work as long as there are no extensive build.prop changes made.

I have an Xperia SP currently running 4.1.2 rooted, bootloader locked.
My aim is to upgrade to 4.3.3 and root, for which i will have to unlock the bootloader. To do so I need a TA partition backup , for which again, root is required.
So, my question is that is it okay if I take a TA Backup now [in 4.1.2] and then upgrade OTA and unlock bootloader, root and then restore the 4.1.2 TA backup onto 4.3.3 in order to restore DRM keys and Relock the bootloader?
Has anyone done this?
is it safe?

Yes, TA partition is not firmware related you can restore it in any stock firmware (don't try to restore your TA on a custom rom) test your back up first and make a many copy

Hey guys. I'm trying to unlock my booaloader of my Xperia Z C6603.
When I go to the service menu and check it says "Bootloader unlock allowed: No".
The point is, that I haven't bought my phone from a carrier, it's unlocked from factory and I don't know why I can't unlocked it
If it says "No", then it's permanently locked.
Did you purchase it brand new, directly from a store or used from a third party?

Then it's possible that the seller flashed generic software on a carrier supplied phone that they network unlocked before selling it to you.
You should contact Sony support and they should be able to confirm this if you supply your IMEI number.

Did the seller advertise it as an unbranded phone? Perhaps you can contact eBay to see if something can be done, even if it's some time after purchase. It's worth a try.

You cannot unlock a BL locked phone using flashtool.
If you want a different rom there are plenty of stock based custom roms just use the search function
