I am using the cm10.1 ,4.2.2 asylum rom ...
If i want to unroot my device,it is just flash the stock ics rom by using odin and it will unroot automatically
i am come from hong kong and sorry for my bad english
Yes but FIRST
While on cm10.1
Go to recovery and wipe everything then flash ICS with PC Odin
PS don't do any wipes on stock ics or you will brick your phone...that is why you have to do the wipes first in JB recovery.
Please hit thanks.

You are on custom rom so flash GB firmware, so that you can wipe safely after flash (wipe after flash is required in most of the cases).
A little confused here.... If I flash a GB Rom how am I supposed to Wipe without CWM and Root????
when u r on gb rom.. u can reboot into stock recovery and do a data factory reset. it's 100 % safe

Download philz kernel of yr region code n flash it in stock recovery.
This get a safe kernel on yr phone n also rooted.
Then download odin v1.85 n stock rom of yr region.
Once rooted go to cwm n wipe cache n data n then
Get yr phone into download mode n flash stock rom using pc odin.
You don't need cwm to do a wipe, stock recovery will do the job also.

u can but if you are trading ur phone u want to wipe everything and if u install ICS its not 100% safe.. so GB > Wipe > ICS is the best option
I can do that with a Custom GB-Rom too? then CWM > wipe data, and then flashing the original with Odin with the download-mode?
Yes u can .. issue is with stock ICS kernel

To be safe, do a full wipe WHILE you are on GB. Then update to ICS. The phone should be clean. This way no risk of the brick bug.

Never wipe or factory reset on ics stock kernel.
Using philz stock safe kernel u can then get rooted n then wipe anything on ics.

Hello, Im on jellybam and I get games little laggy. I done full instal, full wipes, full formats. Everything is clean. And I heard that ICS stock ROM is for best performance and games running very smooth. Is that true? If yes, which one Stock rom I have to install. Im from Lithuania, East Europe. Do I need first downgrade to GB and then write ICS? Or easiest way would be flash GB and try upgrading vie Kies?
I was on JellyBam and have went back to a stock-based rom, but I installed Sammy stock roms first. The process is simple...
1) Download GingerBread rom for your model from here
2) Get Odin, and follow the instructions on the thread to flash GB.
3) You can now either download a stock ICS rom from that thread, or do an OTA update, it's up to you. Using Odin will not increase the counter as it is an official rom.
4) Flash ICS using Odin/OTA
5) DO NOT WIPE ON ICS UNLESS USING A SAFE KERNEL. Personally, I'd go for Philz kernel, so download it and follow the instructions on that thread.
All you need to make sure is to be on a safe kernel whilst on ics. So you can flash ics using odin and the install a safe kernel and do a reset to get going.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Ok, so I need go to GB, then ICS and then to safe kernel, yes? And when I flash safe kernel then I should do full wipe and flash ROM again or just wipe?
Load the rom you want on pc and the corresponding philz kernel to ext sd
You can install ics using pc odin
Once it's done, boot into recovery and install philz kernel and then boot into recovery again and do a factory reset.

As far ics is concerned, most of the ics kernels work with any rom. So worth a try

Download the stock rom you want from the link you were provided above and download the philz kernel for that firmware and flash them in mobile odin. You don't need to flash the kernel after the firmware has been flashed. With mobile Odin you can do it all in just one step.

Well, you can flash kernel at the same time you flash the firmware in mobile Odin by selecting kernel in that option. Your build last three letters have to match the kernel version...check philz thread that is explained in,detail there.

Who said that TWRP is not compatible with Jellybean? And no there is no risk of bricking your phone if you flash or update to Jellybean (but don't flash the Chinese firmware - I've heard that some people bricked their phone by doing that)... Just be sure that the firmware you will be flashing is the "right" one... I suppose that you are running the Indian Gingerbread firmware - so you can officially update to DULP8 (but backup all you data, apps, etc . first)... And yes, root it and install CoCore E 6.2 or 6.8 kernel - it has TWRP 2.5 with it...

Ok but it is written that cocore kernel 6.8-or-something version is only compatible with jb. And I meant that flasing twrp when on jb is not supported. It was written on the thread. Custom recovery (TWRP in your case) is on the same partition as kernel is. By flashing stock firmware kernel partition is getting wiped and new kernel with stock recovery will be instaled. First try to understand what is happening when you do something, and you will not have anything to worry about.
Againg what is already said - you can't install JB custom ROM on GB, and you can't install GB custom ROM on JB. Flashing firmware with Odin will not brick your phone, but only if you use firmware for your phone. If you have I9070P, I9070 firmware will brick it. And otherwise, if you have I9070, I9070P will brick it. Hard brick.
If you want TWRP you have to install kernel with TWRP embended in side of it. Rooting will not harm your phone, it just insert SU file that enable having root permissions.
