Hi
I just got a Sony Xperia Z, it is working pretty good but unfortunately I lost the Micro SIM Card adapter that comes with the phone. There's no Sony local service in my country, so I was wondering where can I get one, I found some in amazon but I'm not sure if they're going to work or not.
Thanks
Do you mean the little tray you put the sim inside before you insert it into the phone? Try eBay. If that doesn't work, try to locate a 3d printer in your home town. You'd be surprised what they can make, especially if you find the exact specifications for the tray.

Hey Man!
I was in the same boat as you,
I don't know where you are...but in GTA (Toronto - Canada)
Pacific Mall - Steeles Ave & Kennedy Rd.
Store #A22
GUBU Mobile
They'll fix it for you $40.00, you have to leave it overnight for one day, keep in mind, they will open the phone, and re-solder SIM300 chipset (the slot that reads the SIM card)
The factory warranty will be voided, due to the opening up the phone.
This is a not simple part that be replaced like other phones, this is intgrated into the motherboard...so, that'll cost you $200-$300 I was quoted for a new MB.
I was in the situation and was pissed...so, I took this root!
Hi all,
i have a HTC one S, but i need another backup phone, i don't want to buy the cheap chines phones and so i looked in e-bay for cell phones under $60 i saw a htc nexus one phone, and the seller indicated that the sim reader stoped reading sim cards, now my question is, can i fix it by myself as the seller write or i need to take it to someone who fix nexus?
the phone looks in good condition and the price is good enough for me, i saw on e-bay i can also by the sim part but there is now video of "how to replace the sim card part".
please hellp
i have a doubt ,when i press the sim in the tray it perfectly fits and stays inside but while closing the cover the cover pushes the sim out
the network signal works properly its just that the cover is not completely pressed on the sim side
is this normal or what i need to do
Are you sure that your simcard has the right dimensions?

ya the sim card is a micro sim card
Hmm, if you are absolutely sure your simcard is the right size, it could be that you've a faulty unit. Is it a new phone?

Ask for a replacement if your phone is still new. Send it for repair if it's not new.

but the network signal works perfectly
no issue in network at all
just there's a little bump created by the cover as it does not close completely
check this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufMRYESmuQg
the way the cover stays little up in end of this video ,same is the condition of my cover
Please answer our question. Is it a new phone? If you look inside the flap, you'll see 2 dots that makes sure the flap stays closed. If not fully pressed down, (like in de video) it will of course make the flap stick out. Perhaps that dot is to big. Could you provide me a picture of your flap?

yes the phone is new i bought it 3 days ago
i showed it today to service center they told that its locked and the motherboard is faulty
and as this phone is not available here in India it can't be repaired
i bought it from a dealer who bought it from foreign so there is no bill
i'm hoping if he can replace and give me another one
i'm pretty f**cked up now
another thing now that the phone shuts down automatically and heats like hell
i think if the motherboard has been short circuit
You definitely have a faulty unit indeed. If I was you I would let it away from you, you never know. Something bad could happen

Hi buddy..
Me too from india..got my xperia tx just 2 days back via eBay.
Although its not released in india,my tx has "dealer warranty"
My suggestion would be to talk to the dealer about the issue and request for a replacement/refund.
There's not much that can be done to the TX in india..
Sent from my xperia TX via xda premium
i have told the dealer for replacement
till then i used a trick by putting some cello tape above sim card which makes it thick and the sim doesn't pop out now
still lets hope if i can get a replacement
Afternoon guys,
Dont ask me how, but my sister has well and truly buggered her sim card reader on her xperia z, i suspect she inserted her sim the wrong way round,
She sent it off and rightly so Sony sent it back saying they wont repair it due to user error
Now i have found a replacement sim card reader, and looked at a teardown guide,
was just wondering however if anyone had attempted it, from the tear down guide it looks like the sim reader is attached to the logic board so a replacement reader wouldnt exactly help, but i cant be sure till i open it up
Anyone with any advise would be greatly received
Regards

Xperia Z sim reader can be damaged by either using a nano sim adapter or placing sim incorrectly. Sony will not cover this error under warranty and yes the sim card reader is soldered onto the board like all other components. You will need the old damaged sim card reader soldered off from the motherboard and a new sim reader soldered onto the board this will definitely fix your issue i have fixed a few in the past with this same fault
Thanks

SONY did screw this model up, don't worry, is not your daughter fault, I damaged mine without sim adapter and always the sim was inserted facing backside of the phone, like in instructions, one pin was torn upside down. So thanks SONY for this ****ty sim card reader .
Back to your problem, I sugest take your phone to a professional technician for soldering the reader since others components wich are nearby could be damaged. Also, special tools like hot air soldering iron are necessary. Take care.

well i did it. just like a few other on here. got the sim card tray and adapter stuck in the slot. like a fool! so im wondering, does anyone know if the z1 card reader is the same as the z1s? i have the z1s and want to fix it. if anyone can chime in id greatly appreciate it!!!
thanks!
anyone?
I doubt that anyone would know that since most of us that own a Z1 don't own a Z1c because there's no point in that.

Check there if it's any different.

Reporting in, well the sim card trays do look identical according to photos, but just to be safe, i'd order a c6916 or l39u/l39t sim card tray, the l39u/39t variants are chinese versions that look identical or actually are identical to the z1s (cases are interchangeable etc), while the c6906,c6903 which are regular z1 devices are modeled l39h
