How to Root/ Safe Strap/ Fastboot-Unbrick Droid Bionic - Motorola Droid Bionic

!!!

Un-bricking Bionic
After I bricked my Bionic I moved on to a SG3 and love it but I want to recover my Bionic. I've downloaded and installed the Motorola usb dirvers and i've down loaded and installed RDS Lite 5.7. I'm not sure which FXZ file to download and use.
I bricked my phone after I did the original OTA update to ICS. It went into boot-loop mode. I would like to restore my phone and then take it to the JB update recently released.
I would appreciate any words of wisdom that you can share with me so that I don't put my phone in a state that it can't recover from. Currently I am able to put it in Fast Boot mode.
I have downloaded the Motorola Bionic Zip files 4.04 and 4.1.2 from the XDA developers site.
Thanks

[Q] Flashing FRG01B w/ RSD Lite

I have a friend who didn't get the OTA update to 2.2. They don't want any custom ROM's or to be rooted, they just want their update. Can I just flash FRG01B with RSD Lite without rooting the phone or having to put SPRecovery on it? I think this should be super simple but I've never actually done anyting like this to a non-rooted phone.

Thanks good link.
Is there a way to save all the apps for them before I update their phone to 2.2 or will they just have to download them again?
The update will not delete anything on your phone.

[q] is there a stock sbf out there yet ?

I was wondering if anyone has found the original ROM that cam with the Droid 3. I had bricked mine trying to unroot it so I could get the OTA latest update. I would upo having to FB 5.6.890 ROM. It was the only one that seemed to work. I know this is the latest ROM out there for my phone. I would just love to be able to put it back like it came out of the box and be able to receive OTA updates. I was a newbie when I rooted the phone and didnt realize you cant un root it if you have deleted any system apps that were on the phone originally. If anybody has the answer or idea it would be greatly appreciated.

If you look through the threads here, the sbf is there.

Afaik once you upgrade to 5.6.890 you can't downgrade via sbf. I've heard it will fail.

stock fxz for bionic

does anyone have a link to the stock fxz? Ive bricked my bionic and the one for download here will not work for some reason.
did you install the drivers as well?
What download link "here" are you talking about? I was about to link you the one from here, as it worked just fine for me. It only works if you didn't install any of the OTA leaks. If you go to About Phone and your "Baseband version" has 05.15.02 at the end, you can't FXZ because you upgraded the kernel and radio.

Turned out to be the computer I was using. I switched to my older vista laptop and it flashed right away. Thanks for the help.

Need help

I have a droid bionic that i rooted and installed CWM via bootstrap. We were on 905 and i tried to flash different ICS roms and now i just get the motorola logo and it doesnt do anything. I cant get back into CWM, what do i need to do?
You are going to need to fxz .905 from a computer using rsd lite. There are links for the files somewhere in these threads. If I can find them I will post links for you. To use the ics leak roms you will need to install a leak first. Recommend .232 or lower so you can still go back to .905 if something goes wrong

Need some help, I need full stock back

Hi All
I need some help getting back to a state where i can just OTA Jellybean just like a normal bionic, I dont care about root or anything like that.
This is my current situation
I installed safestrap 3.11, I accidentally wiped my stock rom and attempted to install AOSP onto stock rom, obviously it did not work, so my stock rom is now dead. I did however install AOSP into rom slot 1, and its working fine. I would like to completely ditch safestrap and get my bionic to a factory stock state with factory ICS installed so i can just OTA update it to Jellybean, is this possible in my current situation? and if so, how do I do it.
I tried using a method that was advertised on droid forums, someguy saved his ICS stock rom as a restore in safestrap, I tried putting the files into the TWRP folder but when i went to restore in safestrap, it did not list any packages I could use to restore. Any help would be appreciated.
If you had stock ICS before you broke it, find obsidian's post about all things bionic and follow the link to the instructions on how to flash a stock fxz with rsdlite.
Don't try to flash ICS fxz if you had stock jb, or you will brick your phone.
