You need root privileges to unlock Bootloader. It says it on the unlocker cmd file. "Getting root rights" or something similar.
Actually, you need to root to do pretty much everything here on XDA.

you need to root, install revcovery, and unlock bootloader first. there are some guides around for that.
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.
Lol. First you need to learn about using google and about reading. All tutorials are here, you need just to find it.
Unlock bootloader first..

Yes, that is normal. You can't install Gingerbread ROM over JB. You will end up in soft brick, now you need to flash stock JB firmware again. I think that recovery is not working now too, so you can't just flash JB ROM.

So any other way to unbrick?

Go to samsung-updates.com or sammobile.com/firmwares and search our device I9070. On sammobile you can see the install process, it's easy

Yes, and you can't flash JB ROM (custom ROM) because you can't go to recovery. And you must flash firmware with Odin.
Thanks, it helped!

After using the gieroot method, what can we do now?
Am I safe to assume we cannot install custom roms without unlocking BL?
What xposed modules are there for the xperia line?

You can unlock the bootloader!
There's no need to unlock it when using stock kernel but if you want to use a custom kernel, then you have to unlock the bootloader.
then wait for 5.0

Seriously, if you don't know what to do after rooting, then why did you root at all?! :silly:
I don't know. Why do we do anything in this world? Why do you go around forum boards and reply to questions you could care less to answer. Why? Why?
Anyways to update this thread - Since this is my first sony xperia phone, i tried different Gem and Serajr Xposed mods and found them to be a bit buggy. One of the mods even made it so the phone was inoperable from an UI standpoint. I had to go into safe mod and delete them.
I tried to run Rectify without unlocking BL but ran into issues. Dev informed to flash stock boot.img. Then I proceeded to install the CM12 nightlies.. running very well!
Remember to backup that TA!
