Trying to sync Contacts and Calendar with Outlook, but it fails with the following error: Unable to sync. Please reconnect your device. [1016]. I must point out that I can sync anything else like music, videos, pictures and bookmarks, but not contacts and calendar. Sync completes normally if those are not included. Here's the system info:
OS: Win 8 64-bit
HSM version: 2.0.52.0
Outlook version: 2013 64-bit
I'm assuming that the problem is with the running of the 64-bit version of Outlook (the same as in iTunes), although the HTC web site is stating that the 64-bit version of the Outlook is supported.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
yes, exact same problem. HTC say outlook 2013 not supported

I've contacted HTC to find out, but according to their web site below it supposed to be supported:
http://www.htc.com/au/software/htc-sync-manager/?section=Requirement
Same issue as well. I was hoping there'd be something on this.
Possible solution...
Ran into the same '1000' error after trying to setup my music, pictures, and files to sync to Outlook 2007 (albeit 32-bit version). When I was doing this one of the last things I tried doing was setting up the 'Files' tab to sync my documents over to my HTC One. I didn't like the way it put the files on the phone, so I removed all the folders from the application. However, I failed to turn off the 'Sync documents from the following locations on this computer' checkbox. The next time I tried syncing (a few days later), I got the '1000' error. I tried doing lots of things, searching the web, to no avail. When I turned this option off (since there were no folders listed in the display), I was able to sync without receiving the error. I turned the option for the Files back on (again without any folders specified to sync), I got the '1000' error again. So now it's off and I've had no issues syncing since.
Hope this helps.

The problem got fixed with the latest HTC Sync release (now 2.1.54.0). If it doesn't work with the latest release than it would mean that HTC does not provide backward compatibility with earlier versions of Windows OS or Office 2007. Check with HTC what is still supported.

I have checked with the latest software update and didn't help. On the internet you can find that it's not depend on a platform because to many various times and configurations happened. Finally I have installed and done what I want using the Android Sync Manager WiFi. You have to google for newest executable version because homepage download is not working.

so finally had to change to Vista...and I had version 5.5 of Intellisync on my xp machine which synchronised outlook perfectly with my tytn....
of course that's all change now and have downloaded version 6 of intellisync (as version 5.5 is incompatible with Vista) which doesn't work with the new Vista Activesync.
Can anyone help? Basically need to sync my contacts and sub-contact folders to my Tytn, which is why I used Intellisync, as Activesync doesn't offer this (it only does the contacts folder). I either need to find a solution with current software or find software that does the job of syncing between Outlook multiple contacts folders....if you get my drift...
All of the sudden I am having problems sync'ing my phone with Outlook 2007. New contacts and calendars that I have added to Outlook will not sync to my phone. I thought that I had read somewhere that you could clear a setting in the Tilt to make this work but I can't find it anywhere now.
Anyone have any suggestions.

Vista
Thanks!
Anybody have any ideas?
we started experiencing this too.
At first, it was just one person and then another. I noticed this morning I had the same issue.
Appointments created on my desktop machine do not sync to my phone. However, appointments created on my device will sync to my desktop.
I have been unable to resolve the issue so far.
I think I may try going back to outlook 2003 and see if this issue resolves.
I have had similar problems under XP in the past, where any appointment with a note attached would not sync, also any contact with a photo would not sync.
If you type the following (or cut and paste) into the 'run' window it may help or may not in your case - it certainly sorted my problem out
Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll
If it doesn't help - as it is a slightly different problem fix, then I am sorry I have no other ideas.
You could also try this site which is where the above fix came from originally:
http://forums.pocketpcfaq.com/viewforum.php?f=63
NOTE that I am talking about XP so not sure if the fix is suitable to try on Vista

I am only posting this so that you know that it does and can work - I have (at least so far) using the ROM in my sig - and Office 2007 on an XP Pro machine had no problems synching. I sync messages, contacts, calendar tasks notes and favorites.
FYI,
Bill
I have some variables I did not mention before such as groupwise and Vista OS, not to mention what we are changing in the server background.
Here is the 'shotgun' approach I used:
I noticed today my calendar was not syncing.
Appointments added on my PC would not sync to my device.
Appointments added on my device would sync to my PC.
(POSSIBLE PROBLEM #1)
I uninstalled Office 2007, rebooted and installed Office 2003 and the GroupWise connector.
The installation detected an install of GroupWise and asked to remove it…..I said yes.
(POSSIBLE PROBLEM #2)
During that process another message indicated that it was configured to use an ‘OFFLINE’ mailbox (It was configured to use ONLINE mailbox) did I want to delete the box. I said yes.
I launched Outllook 2003 and all was good.
(POSSIBLE PROBLEM #3)
Connected my device and WMDC launched and I got an error indicating a memory read write error cancel or proceed. I told it to proceed and the sync started but never progressed or completed.
I deleted the partnership between my device and computer. It warned that all contacts and mail and appointments synced with only that device would be removed. I said ok.
Connected my device and it removed the partnership and items described above.
I created a new partnership and it synced and everything worked.
Being a Mac user, I am actually trying to figure out ways to synchronize my mails and contacts between the Touch Diamond and my MacBook. I used the free version of SyncMate up till now but it doesn't work well with the Diamond and I would rather go for a solution that also syncs my music. That's why I am considering the The Missing Sync.
So has anyone tried synchronizing their phones (HTC Diamond) through the Missing Sync? How long do you expect support to come for it in case it's not supported?

I am a mac user too and have tried both, I found under 10.5.4 both are problematic to say the least but a new version of Syncmate is coming out real soon which fixes a lot of problems.
In regards to timelines you can but wait, or even better hope that apple release an update to isync!

Syncing HTC Diamond with MacOS 10.5.4 and Missing for WM 4.0.3 works well for contacts (Apple Address Book, but contact pictures does not seem to sync well), calendar (Apple iCal), tasks (Apple iCal) and music (Apple iTune). Please, read:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2450815&postcount=16
That's the way I proceed and I am quite happy with the result.
Moreover, I went back to this solution after using an iPhone during six months since Windows Mobile / ActiveSync / Missing Sync can manage two partnerships by themselve, i.e without relying on a third-party service such as Mobile.Me. This is very important for me since I must sync the PDA with a professional MacBook and my own iMac.
Hello,
Is there a way i can Sync my contacts and calendar on my TYTN II on Linux.
I use OpenSuse 11.1 and would love my contacts and calendar items on KMail.
Please do let me know if anyone has done it already.
Secondly lot of applications need ActiveSync. Is there a way of doing it on Linux?
SynCE
Ciao
The best solution for a single desktop sync is WinCE http://www.synce.org/moin/. Consider that the project is still in beta
I tried many times to figure out how to sync WinMobile with linux (evolution or thunderbird)
My personal solution is to use SyncML. I installed Funambol (www.funambol.com) server on Linux and than I'm able to sync with all the platform supporting natively SyncML or using a specific client.
The clients connected to funambol server are:
HTC tytn II - Win Moble 6.1
Motorola V3 - Java
Evolution - Centos 4.2
Thunderbird - Windows - linux
Outlook - Windows
Ciao from Italy in a sunny day
Thanks ton Ciao...
Let me try and see if that works.
Any updates on whether this worked or not? I am running Ubuntu (Ibex) and have been looking for a way to sync my ATT Tilt II
It has not worked for me using Synce. The device is not getting recognized even after troubleshooting it.
Trying to sync with funambol now. Will update by end today.
Hi,
I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 and I'm almost fully working. I've not tried to sync my contacts yet but I can view my device from nautilus.
Add the following to your /etc/apt/apt.sources.list
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/synce/ubuntu intrepid main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/synce/ubuntu intrepid main
sudo apt-get install synce-trayicon
sudo apt-get install synce-gvfs
synce-tray is found under applications/accessories. I can view whats installed / Battery Status, but it will not create a partnership. Not tried yet to get that going.
Well it has not worked for me. Plain and simple.
I am on OpenSuSe 11.1 with KDE 4.2.
Fraginhell must be using Gnome as his desktop version because Synce-trayicon is for Gnome and not for KDE.
syncevolution, funambol and www.scheduleworld.com
Right now I am using the Funambol client to sync with the on-line calendar from Scheduleworld. The package evolutionsync syncs with Scheduleworld also.
Works like a charm. You can set your phone to sync say every hour, sync evolution with one click on an xterm command on your desktop, and view your contacts and agenda on-line where ever you are. Isn't that sweet?

Does Evolution and/or Schedule World actually work with Categories? I categorize my events so Phone Alarm can adjust my profile based on the meeting. I need it louder, or quieter, etc.
I have yet to see this actually work with anything except crappy Outlook.

I have seen schedule categories in Evolution, but i'm not sure about if, and how they are synced with Scheduleworld. I'd say: Give it a try...
not exactly what you want, but what i do is use mochasoft's ftp server on my kaiser and just connect through nautilus.
ATT HTC Tilt (8925) on Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty
I got my setup working with Evolution pretty well. I'm syncing my contacts, calendar, and Tasks using OpenSync, Synce, and the evo2-sync plugin. I'm also using the newer synce-gvfs package so you can mount and explore the mobile filesystem
I haven't go the Notes/Memos working yet. Another problem I haven't solved is getting my Birthdays and Anniversary from my address book onto my the phone calendar. I know I can just copy them to the Personal Calendar, but they wouldn't update automatically. I'm sure there's a way to use the file-sync plugin or maybe a bash script. I'll update the steps once I get that working.

Hello,
I would like to sync my TyTN II using Synce with synce-kpm in KDE4.
Internet Connection Sharing works very well, but when I connect the Kaiser to the PC in Active Sync mode, it is not recognized and no interfaces are coming up.
The only things I can read in dmesg are:
Code:
usb 8-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 8
usb 8-1: no configuration chosen from 1 choice
How can I get it recognized?
I only need to synchronize the calendar, so evolution support is not needed.
I use the synce 0.14 and opensync 0.22.
I don't know if this is the correct section to post this question.
I have an HTC Vogue.
When I would sync it to my Windows XP computer using MS ActiveSync 4.5, my Calendar information would get messed up during the sync. It would change the days in my Calendar on my computer in MS Outlook 2007. It would also mess up the recurrence of that particular event.
When I would sync it my Windows 7 computer using the Windows Mobile Device Center, the same exact problem would occur as it did in Windows XP.
My conclusion has come down to something being wrong with my phone. I assume this because the same exact problem happens on 2 different computers on 2 different Operating Systems.
Please help. If more information is needed, please let me know.
